Back in the day when I was young and dumb, my friends and I frequented Elephant Butte for long weekends. One year we were partying late in the night next to the lake. A boat came upon our campsite with a older gentleman and a young blonde girl. Years later my friends and I believe that it was David Parker Ray.

My dad and his friends would ride their dirtbikes through the mountains pretty often. One time, they travelled up a canyon right after a flash flood happened and found a casket lid that had been uncovered from beneath the earth by the raging flood. They flipped that casket lid over and on the other side found scratches dug deep in to the wood exactly where the hands of a body would have been. They laid next to it for perspective of the terrifying situation that unfortunate soul had found themselves in.

This story, along with the story of Pazuzu Algarad, made me experience True Crime Burnout. Ray was a truly sick and depraved individual who never faced consequences for his heinous crimes against humanity, and it’s disturbing as hell

Female victims rarely get justice. Our legal system is in men's favor. There's actually a news article about how a judge justified a sexual assault on a woman because she was wearing tight fitted jeans. Female victims are often blamed for their assault. Society will say and do just about anything to avoid holding a man accountable for his actions.

I said this about Fritzl the other week but christ this is even more disturbing than that case. My routine of watching these every week before bed might need to be rethought 😂 great pod again guys! I’m pretty desensitised to true crime stories now after a few years of listening to podcasts and watching documentaries but this case is the first to really disturb me and make me feel sick since the first documentary I ever watched on true crime when I was very young (it was on the BTK killer). I recommended you on my podcast last week and have told many others about your pod as I simply don’t think the sub count is doing you justice! Keep up the incredible work!

Love the extra jokes and commentary! It really makes taking in the info easier! I love learning about serial killers and criminals due to my morbid curiosity. There is no way he could keep the person in the toy box because when in withdrawal you throw up everywhere compulsively & you literally shit yourself non stop. He would probably enjoy to see the pain but wouldn't like to do the cleaning! But i mean.... thinking that people had to go threw this chills me to the bone. This is a true fuckin nightmare.

ok just 7 min. in - my personal thoughts - first 2 -3 min introduction fantastic, and than this (in my view) atrocious banter that I suppose to bring some levity - it doesn't work for me at all, but I'll suffer through it cause I hope there's more good material later. That's it for now. 20 min. in - it gets better I still don't dig your kind of humor but it may be my issue I don't know (I'm a Bill Burr kinda guy - meaning I like BB not that I can replicate his kind of humor), oh wow now I see that you guys answered to my comment almost immediately that's something I didn't expect but appreciate, now definitely will watch whole thing and keep updating on my thoughts. I found your podcast after listening to 'Casefile Podcast - Toybox' I was just looking for some kind of documentary and your video popped on the top of the list in my search, so I was expecting something else and I got another podcast instead. That said I think it'd be much better if I was just listening to it (like Casefile) but after that 2min. intro I was really expecting something else. Anyway I didn't get much new info from this one, you did a good job when you focused on the case, your voices are very good to listen to. If you want to keep it as a podcast format than I guess it's fine. This time I was just looking for something else (a documentary like JimCan'tSwim style or something). All the best guys I'll keep checking your content, subbed.

I suppose like you guys said he was targeting people who weren't likely to be looked for after they went missing. Some of the victims probably haven't even been reported missing at all. So even if bones/body/DNA are found in the lake they are unlikely to be identified and therefore can't link them to his crimes.
