The remembered John Frankenheimer (Ronin ...) made a masterpiece of cinema ... giving it extraordinary quality with perspective shots and close-ups of the actors ... and the film's black and white accentuating the dramatic and realistic character Of the same. . , pure art ... movies of this magnitude are no longer made ...

Burt was a favorite actor of mine. He was a real man, not like these punks of today.

Burt Lancastor looking at him reminds me of my father back in the 1950s.

Burt Lancaster did two movies with john frankenheimer in 1964, the train, seven days in may. Both men are long gone now

Wow! What a Truly Great Movie. The woman in this scene by the way, was a real person & she risked her life & managed to save lots of great art in real life. She was the Museum's curator & director when the Germans conquered France. should research her story.

Funny to watch the 4 minute trailer for THE TRAIN (1964) elsewhere on yt. It never mentions that the train is being used to transport stolen French art from France to Germany. It never even says anything about French art. The trailer just makes the movie look like your typical WWII action adventure film.

I’ve had this on VHS for years, such an awesome movie, I’m personally not much of a war movie guy, but there’s something about this one. Yes I watch it for the train aspect, but the war aspect is honestly just as captivating. So well acted, will always be a favorite

I heard from the movie “The Train” is a based off on a true story like probably in the 1940’s where war started happening and it still is going on. Then they started to make the movie in the 1960’s.
