Reminds me of this town in Quebec that had no power, SO, they rented a Freight locomotive from CN to power parts of the town. They brought the locomotive in and brought it as close as possible, then, they lifted it off the tracks and onto the road... then DROVE the locomotive UNDER ITS OWN POWER down the LITERAL ROAD to the town centre!

You know they could probably strap on some sort of hydraulic turning mechanism to nudge the trucks left and right and give it simple steering abilities as it drove down the road. That would be cool!

@@davidkirby-jx9xp nope!, it was real!, not a cartoon, the village mayor had ties to Canadian National, and she knew that certain locomotives churned out alternating current electricity, so CN ran a couple of AC equipped MLW engines to the street the village hall was on, and a heavy-duty crane lifted them off the track and onto the street, where they made their way several blocks to the village hall. They set up barricades around them, and had fuel on standby, plus an engineer to keep them operating at a certain speed to generate AC power correctly. After power from the grid was restored, the engines made their way back to the track, where the crane lifted them back onto the rails. Aside from the grooves left in the asphalt, the only damage was to the traction motor covers, which were repaired by the CN shop.

You can't take it apart because if you do than any vehicle that goes over the tracks will get stuck in the middle. So the train cut its own path and everything will stay the way it is after that.
@@C-130-Hercules yeah but the road workers always re-patch the asphalt after every usages. But if they just dismantle di asphalt & make the rail appear on the surface, they will never re-patch it. For other vehicle, the better becarful because there's no level crossing gate & the train can passing anytimeit's needed unpredictable without any schedule.

Ditempat saya lebih tepatnya dipabrik gula Madukismo, dinamakan lori, biasanya memang buat ngangkut tebu, tapi juga digunakan buat wisata & mengangkut anak sekolah
Kalo di Pemalang namanya sepur gotrok, biasanya untuk angkut tebu ke pabrik gula sumber Harjo, beberapa waktu lalu di pinjamkan ke Belanda, karena sudah terbengkalai.
Jalur lori tebu memang gak setiap hari jalan, cuma di musim giling aja. Mungkin yang aspalnya gak tau itu jalur lori masih aktif karena biasanya jalur lori itu tertutup rumput ilalang seperti sudah terbengkalai.

Well, aspal dinegara manapun klo digilas kereta ya tetep jebol bro, mau itu lokomotif lori kecil sekalipun. Selain karena bobot kereta itu besar(body full baja), juga karena area kontak roda kereta itu sgt kecil, jadi tekanan permukaannya sgt besar. Ibarat truk muatan penuh dipasangi ban sepeda Lain kali jangan tidur pas pelajaran fisika ya

Пришла мысль, а что если на переездах закатывать полностью асфальтом, и сразу по свежему пускать локомотив. Может решиться извечная проблема с раздолбанными переездами.
