Buruburu Estate started changing when the original owners of house units started selling and renting their properties. Thats when backyard extensions started coming up. The extensions are the ones that destroyed the look of the estate as it now started looking like any ordinary estate.

Seems Kenyans have always dressed well ( the Que). Sad that they allow greedy people to deface a beautiful country. The difference between a country like kenya and the US is Law Enforcement. In the US you have to comply with all building standards and codes even if you're developing your own house in a remote forest. You need approval to expand or modify the perimeter of a building or taxable property. There are fines for littering, non maintenance of lawns, unauthorized developments, blocking your own driveway in CA etc. In most middle class level neighbourhoods, you can't repaint your house outside the colorcode already prescribed.

Hoping kids who are now men here in Buruburu moved out of there parents home, coz drunkardness was the order of the day.

How buruburu has fallen..I grew up there in the 80's and it was pretty nice back then and cream of the crop estate in Eastlands those days..unlike the way it looks today.
