Mari demonstrates the full extent of her exceptional vocal range. She goes up and down the octaves with ease! She is also a formidable pianist with an impeccable technique! The style of the song reminds me of Jerry Lee Lewis at Sun in the early 60's like Bonnie B or Carry me back Old Virginia. A master stroke: Rock'n roll kid/ I wanna know an exceptional double side! We are now looking forward to an album! Philippe of France
Hi Peter. From the little I know The Tri-Tones are from Estonia. They were originally Maryann and The Tri-tones and released 2 cds- swamp girl and kitten walk. They went their different ways in 2017. As far as I know, The Tri-Tones only have one release which is a vinyl 45 - Rock n Roll kid/ I wanna know. The Tri-Tones are: Artur Skrõpnik on guitar Kaarel Raidam on drums Mari Vendla on upright bass Mari usually plays double bass but I believe she was pregnant when this was recorded.
@@jongascoigne1600 Hi Jon, thank you for your reply, this helps as I could not find anything about them, I gathered from the older video's there where more in the Band It is a shame if they have split up as they where one of the better original sounding Rockabilly Bands of modern times lets hope they reform in the future. all the best cheers.
@@Pete1965 Hi Peter. The Tri-Tones are still together as you see them in this video. It's Maryann and The Tri-Tones that split up. They used to have a front woman called Maryann and Mari played Bass. Not sure if she sang on any songs when they were with Maryann. But now Mari is lead vocalist as well.

@@tritonesrock Hi Mari, Great to hear from you, so pleased to hear you and the Band are all set to Rock again very soon. I look forward to seeing you on Facebook, In the meantime I wish you and the Band my kindest regards from the UK Take care from Pete xx
I just have a question. Is it pronounced tree tones or try with a big I tones? Cool name musically referring to half an octave, the forbidden demonic tone, or the 6th half step from the root note! If you don't mind, will you tell me about what upright bass pickup you use. Is it a single bridge or split stereo that has bridge and also one that goes under the fingerboard that picks up the slaps? Please and thank you much
Hey Scott! It's Mari here, you can pronounce it as you like but we say "try"-tones. I use a K&K Rockabilly bass pickup, it's indeed a stereo one for slappin' and works great too!
