I just realized that quite a few of my favorite total war youtubers are engineers. Just another reason for me to be proud of becoming an engineer myself! Great videos. I like the depth of the explanations you give for each movement on the battlefield. Keep it up!

Dude you should try a siege battle on a map call Ancyra. It's the Galatian city, but it can help you as the attacker. You'll see why if you look at the map. Here's a hint, it's the bridge in the middle of the city.
Aren't Thracian Warriors and Nobles extremely reliant on their charge bonuses? Heh. When I saw your guys stepping into these Thorax Swordsmen from the siege towers I winced.
Hmm, I don't really know what the Carthiginian player did. He had a chasm, with 2 units of pikemen... and lost... Did the spartan player bring up ranged units?
No archers I just had to keep flanking them when the space opened up with my 3 units I think. I was Watching this and realised i was Sparta just at that moment the pikes pushed forward lol

I like this map, I think it would be good for Spear infantry defence with lots of skirmishers. and attacking is Sword Infantry with skirmishers and 2-4 units of calvary
+Zoltan Gyongyossy 2-4 units of cav would of been a bad idea, considering how almost every-side was being pushed by Spartan hoplites. I normally just bring 1 unit of cav to sieges as defender and save it until I can get to the attacker's missile units when they're all committed
Illusive Banana Why the calvary is because there are 4 attack points if the attacking force can get threw one of them they get the calvary and push into another flank or to take out skirmishers thats why it would be 2 melle cav and 2 shock cav. shock charge into back of spartans to help the melle kill faster but if there was pikes whitch there will be it will be horrible strat
Zoltan Gyongyossy But you were talking about defending though,cav would be useless then but by what you said, that would still be bad as that's 4 units of cav that could be infantry or skirmishers so they would have less pressure on each flank of the defenders
that was an amazing battle but why you did not use explosive ammo when targeted the infantry? and i really hope i see more of this battles in the future!
While explosive shot is supposed to do more damage, in most cases flaming shot kills a lot more people. The exception to this would be using explosive shot on ships. If you hit center deck, the force will throw 20 some guys straight off killing them instantly, and directly kill 3-4 more. You keep doing that, a naval force will be shredded apart without needing to sink the ships.
Imagine all the greatest Total War players or Mount and Blade got sent back to a selected time period to lead army's of there choosing. Tell me where you would go back to and what army would you lead. And what will you conquer! I personally would be a mighty Khal leading 350,000 heavy horsemen in the mid 13th century going to each European monarch demanding they get on there knees and become my vassel and if they don't, I will pillage there lands until there is nothing left but ashes. This is all for fun I mean no offence to anyone : P
They'd all fail, because none of the games simulate real life, because nothing does other then life itself. And I would be a General in the Danish Army so I don't have to do anything since we won't go to war with anyone.

+Alan Brian What about the Romans they conquered the world. Senators lead army (mostly consuls) who had no experience in military combat.
ThePurpleSpartan Well they would try, and if they failed, they would never lead again, but if they some how succeeded they were given a large portion of the Roman army, which was massive for the time, so you can't really fail with a huge army of Romans.
