The casting of Officer Frank Furter was phenomenal in this film

I just love how Frank keeps throwing away half smoked cigarettes & joints without ever lighting one, it's a neat visual reference to the fact that he's actually a wizard and not just a detective

frank going "meat can be cured but addictions can't" as he slowly unravels reeeaaally hit hard. one of the best movies of all time for sure with unexpected depth.

The movie segment went so hard. The genuinely great acting. The solid set design and the attention to detail on the ketchup/mustard body. The cinema quality editing. Babish just keeps topping themselves!

I love these fake show/movie skits at the beginning, can't wait to see more of them!

Fun movie trivia: Did you know that Hot Dog Detective actually got its start as a rejected spinoff pilot for Criminal Minds? You can still see hints of it in the final script. The Criminal Minds producers, however, balked at the idea of a weekly procedural involving food-themed serial killers; in particular, they worried what impact it might have on their ability to sell advertisement slots. A rumor persists that the "skeleton in a giant chocolate bar" episode of Bones had a similar start and might even have originally been a planned episode of the Hot Dog Detective series, but instead it was workshopped to fit the existing show instead; these rumors, however, have never been officially confirmed (or denied!)

My parents thought this movie was too scary for me to watch as a kid, so the first thing I did when I turned 18 was watch it with all of my friends in our basement. Absolutely life changing film and the reason I'm a Forensics major today!

It's incredible how all of the movies Babish has covered lately have had characters that look just like him!

I don’t know why the bit where Babish keeps flicking away the end of his cigarette in every shot absolutely kills me, but it does.

I love these imaginary film foods and the accompanying skits. I also love how Babish will say things like “because the killer worked a day job at a diner” as if that’s common knowledge to the audience in regards to a fake film he created.

These are without a doubt your best works you've ever done on this channel. The writing and cinematography on the short 'movie' clips is wonderful, and the fact that you speak about them as if we all have obviously seen these movies. Plus the fact that you give little details about how the movies actually go throughout the cooking is just genius.

I think its very endearing that youre venturing into your own type of movie/skit production due to the strikes. It gives you giys your own due justice in the quality of videos you guys produce and really gives you guys something completely ORIGINAL for your branding, also while supporting people that need it. Keep it up! :)

The bit where the detective is always flicking away the last stub of a cigarette. You think it's just a funny visual gag, but the way he uses it at the end of the movie to win was brilliant.

I remember watching the edited down version on TBS as a kid. When I saw it for the first time, in college, on DVD, I was blown away by all the viscera left out of the TV version. What a farce.

This movie was a comfort during my deployment in the Finno-Korean Hyperwar. Thank you BCU, for honoring this memory.

The sequel to this masterpiece "Ice Cream Investigator: Frozen Fear" was also fantastic and I hope Babish does a recipe from that

I feel like Hot Dog Detective peaked after the first movie. After it turns out (spoiler) Frank was the killer, and then an actual copycat started showing up, they really started to borrow too heavily from Silence Of The Lambs. Regardless, excellent throwback to this classic. If for some reason someone hadn't seen it, they should rent a copy ASAP.

I absolutely loved Crown of Condiments. Definitely one of the best installments of the Hot Dog Detective saga. The casting especially was on point. The babish crew are perfect in their roles and ordinarysausage is extremely convincing as the serial killer.

I'm still disappointed the killer didn't put relish between the outer spiral dog layer like was shown in the Sausage Cave blueprints. I know it doesn't make sense in the story, but it would've been cool.

This was a MASTERPIECE. Kendall belongs on SVU. Sawyer wins best supporting actor. What an episode.

Hey Babish! Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for finally covering my favorite movie of all time, ¨Hot Dog Detective: Crown of Condiments¨. This movie was most definitely a classic for me in my adolescant years, and I have very fond memories of watching this with my wife on our recent honeymoon. So thank you so much for bringing a big part of my childhood to life!

The creative team needs a raise cause these episodes are genius. I would be happy to get more episodes like this in the future well after the strike ends.

The trilogy was definitely something, and the reveal in CoC was definitely a surprise that was executed masterfully. One of my favorites of all time, and I am glad as ever that Babish covered the one thing that made me love the cleverness that was Hot Dog Detective's final movie.

The constantly flicking away of the cigarettes and then having a new, lit one each shot is genius.

I know a lot of people bash on the sequel for taking the campiness too far, and moving away from the original theme, but personally I find that's the charm of the movie! Underrated gem, really.

I think these new openings are a fantastic new direction for the channel. I wasn't sure what post-10M Babish looked like but I think this opens a lot of opportunities and and creative additions.

I seriously enjoyed the movie scene, almost too much considering I'm just here for the food (and humor), love that it involved a group of you guys this time! It almost felt like spotting famous faces in a movie, "Oh look who's also in this!".

The twist ending of Frank going insane from the curse and becoming a copycat of The Griddler is an excellent setup for a sequel. I hope the next film goes deeper into the subplot of Officer Coney's search for his missing brother.

I’ll be frank with you, Babingo, these episodes are arguably better than Binging usually is. The sketch at the beginning and end adds so much to what is otherwise entirely a crazy food video (not that that’s a bad thing, Binging’s been that its entire run and I watch it religiously anyway). It lets us see the Babish who took another path in life.

Kind of want to see Hot Dog Detective as a real thing. Maybe a cameo by Ordinary Sausage as the fed-up police chief. “You’re too reckless, Furter! You’re off the casing!”

Quick safety note: Never use gloves with rotating tools. They might make you feel safe, but the tool can grab the glove and pull your hand into the mechanism, with you being unable to escape.
