There appears to be a tiny technical glitch at 14:40. Not bad enough to re-upload. Hope it doesn't spoilt your enjoyment of the vid. Thanks for watching. Richard and Carol
really share your love for Triumph . nice to see Pete there on the stand . they certainly keep ahead of the game ,lovely specs and colours . The new 400s are priced very reasonably too . we visited the coffee shop this morning , went on my Honda forza with son Chris . thanks for giving such pleasure with your videos .
Always good to hear from you John. Yep we had a long chat with Pete, think the stand had been really busy. I'm sure we will arrive at the coffee shop at the same time as you at some point. Cheers and thanks for watching
I have never liked big bikes and have waited for years for Triumph to produce a smaller machine, The 400 is right up my street and will ordering in the New Year. Thanks for the excellent vid 😊😊😊
Thanks Richard & Carol for the wonderful look at the new triumph bikes. I didn’t get to the show this year as work got in the way but glad i caught your video 👍 some lovely paint they are doing on the stealth editions. Love the look of the new 400’s and agree many sales to come on those bikes I recon! I can see you on the Tiger 1200, and i love the electronic suspension on it! Had it on my 10 as you know. I paid £13,350 for mine with 3400 miles on the clock a good saving from new.
Think the Triumph stand was one of our favourites. As you know, I do like the Tiger 1200 very much, but I would probably want to try the new GS as well. We tried filming the main manufacturer's stands as individual stand-alone vids this time. Hope you're fully recovered from the little off. Cheers and best wishes
Good to see you there Phil. You always looked busy creating the next shot or scene. What we lack in style and creativity we've made up for with sheer volume of vids 🤣 We enjoyed the show, hopefully catch up with you at the next event
@@Banditmanuk Awww thank you. I certainly had a busy few days, meeting people and having fun as you saw. Your videos are great, I always enjoy watching them! I look forward to seeing you soon! 😁
Could not agree more with your last comments, Richard. Triumph is one of the great engineering companies in the UK with large exports all over the world. It Never gets a mention on the news, unlike the regular reports on Sainsbury and M&S and how many millions they are losing or making each year. The television journalists need to expand their limited horizons. It's great to see Triumph bringing some beautiful colours back to the range. They are going to sell a lot of bikes in the coming years! One of them might be to me😊
I just get a little fed up with the comments about Thailand manufacturing. Yes, they have huge facilities there and around the world. Its a global business still run from Hinckley Leicestershire by the same Bloor family who resurrected the brand. Carol and I are always made welcome when we call in for coffee there. The Triumph guy we talked to is one of the chaps to leads the tours around the manufacturing facilities at Hinckley. There's been a big investment there in a new production line with a high capacity. They had Tiger 900's coming off the line when I last did the tour.
I have been to Fowlers motorcycles in Bristol today, buying new Goretex kit. Expensive day but got Black Friday 20% discount. I was chatting to the Triumph sales guy asking about the new 400 models. He told me he has deposits for 40 bikes and only has about 4 left for his 2014 alotment of those models. I think they are going to be a phenomenal success!
I know, it makes way more sense than touring on an MT10. Triumph are making some great looking bikes at the moment. Saying that I did sit on the new GS from BMW. (More of that in a future vid) 😉
Thanks for the tour of the Triumph stand, each of you found a few choices of bikes which fit you well. It's just a question of how much power you want and the not insignificant sum of money required for a new bike each. Carol looked the Bee's knees on the 765 😁😀
Nice to see some good coverage of Triumph, a welcome change from BMW and RE. I recently bought a Speed Twin 1200, great bike. My first Triumph since a new Bonnie in 1982. Now I'm liking the look of the Scrambler 400, what a fantastic price.
Thanks, we've tried to make individual vids of the main manufacturer's stands. We thought the Triumph was one of the best. Loved the look of the Speed Twin and, of course, the new 400s
No disputing, they manufacture many bikes abroad. Think the covid situation and higher sea freight costs saw a bit of a re-think, and they've recently invested in new production facilities at the Hinckley site with supply to the European market especially in mind. I was at the factory on Wednesday, and the staff car park at Hinckley is vast. Many 100s of Brits are still engaged in developing and producing Triumph bikes. Love my Yams, but Triumph is still a great British company. Thanks for watching. It's always good to hear from you
Liking the way your taking a more in depth look at individual stands guys although I guess it would take a heck of a lot longer to cover the show 😉but very good .I do like the Street triples but I am thinking at my ripe old age it's probably more the Bonneville T100 or T120 to add to my new garage when I get moved . Finally some fab colours from Triumph now that's great to see ,love the Speed twin but not the bar ends for me and I am loving the blue on the that T120 that's one for me 😉.👌👍
This year we got media passes that allowed us to spend a day and a half filming. This allowed a more in depth look at each stand. We thought Triumph was one of the best 👌 Hopefully a few more stands to follow over the next days. Yep those Bonneville bikes looked superb
Like how you have done separate videos for each make, I visited from Guernsey on Saturday, my bike if the show was the yam Xs 900 gp, stunning just as a work of art
That bike features in the Yam vid still to come. I also compare it to the XRS900 Velocity Moto RD500 conversion that was on the Datatag stand. Equally stunning in my opinion. Thanks for watching and commenting, means a lot for our little channel
I am just like you. I really don't like that much all the electronics, but it is quite impossible to avoid it these days. The Triumph Scrambler 400 looks very nice and stylish. Got my like, just like always.
Over the top electronic stuff is more and more difficult to avoid. Some people like all the gadgets, I see them as more to go wrong. Yep those Triumph 400s look great 👍
That's great. Close up the bike looks great quality. For us here the bike still looks very good value for money even at UK prices. Hope you enjoy it and we appreciate you watching our little channel.
Hi🙂, really enjoying your bike live reviews 😀. Yours are always better than other people's as you do individual ones rather than trying to rush round the whole show in 20mins! Tell carol depending on whoose riding it the tiger 660 does 0-60 in 3.4-4.5 second's and between 130-140mph top speed,so I wouldn't think she'd feel the need for more power, unless she's a secret speed freak 😅
Thanks for the kind words. We both like the 660. It's probably a psychological thing not wanting less power than you already have. In all honesty, we probably don't explore the max power of either of our bikes out on tour. Thanks for watching
Those 400’s are very well priced and with the 10k service intervals they are going to turn the heads of several potential Royal Enfield owners. Brilliant format with a separate video for each stand 👍🏼
They are fabulous value for money. Just trying something different with RU-vid. The NEC were good enough to offer us a media pass so we used it Sunday pm and all day Monday just to film. Trying to do a video a day for a week and see how it goes. Got Heath & Kim heading up to us now and we're heading back to the NEC tomorrow. Hopefully, it won't seem like work on this visit
I can understand the caution, I went through a long thought process and made a list of costs including the extras I wanted before purchase back in March 2022 to fully determine every thing. May be worth renting for a day once you are near a choice to save a big mistake. I owned my previous bike for 18 years and still got a buzz every time I road it, I think the decision would have been easier if I could afford to run 2 bikes. Enjoy your biking, ride safe.
The Tiger 900 suited you and being the Rally, looked plenty big enough. Ive got a 900 GT Aragon and love it, having sold aThunderbird Storm and a Tiger 660 Sport to have just one bike. Fast enough for me and good value, given it's packed with features and more importantly, it's not keyless. The 900 triple is a brilliant compromise between my old parallel twin thumper and the 660 screamer (I also like the sound of your MT10). Actually prefer the Rally versions to look at, but didnt fancy spoked wheels. Great video, I'm going Sunday. Interested to see the updated 900.
Some years back I owned a Tiger 800XC. Lovely engine but I wished I had bought the road oriented bike instead of the XC with spokes and 21" wheel. I only want tubeless tyres now after several punctures over the years. We're heading back Saturday with friends to just enjoy the show. The filming and editing feels a little to close to working 😔 Thanks for watching
I would have the yellow 765 RS any day in my garage. I just felt I was getting Triumph heavy in my garage. Oh lordy Richard stay away from any hot rodded Rocket 3 especially with your weather. I'm good with the Tiger 660 horsepower and especially the ergonomics. The bags look good on it too. My hold up on it was no cruise control on it for my riding. The engine with a Leo Vinci ? sounded great. It comes with Road 5s too. Great walk around and colors, how did that Thruxton R final edition look?
Yep, that yellow 765 RS is currently Carol's favourite of the show. We both like the Tiger Sport 660. You're probably right about it having enough power but I would love to see a model of it with the 765R engine. Over here, with our way more twisty and congested roads, cruise control or lack of it isn't so much of an issue. I hardly use it on the MT10 Haha, yes, perhaps I'll stay away from high powered Rocket 3s. Glad you're recovering after the Bonneville Salts incident. I went back to the stand when I realised I hadn't included the final edition Thruxton and filmed it but forgot to add it in when editing. (I've got a mountain of unedited footage to sort) It was green and looked great.
Enjoyed that, Triumph are definitely a league above Suzuki but I totally agree with you both on the tiny dash issue, I have a Thruxton and the traditional clocks on that are superb. I think the best bike for you (with me being a kawasaki man) is the GTR1400, I said in the past a ZZR but I now think that the bigger tourer would suit you better
A good review on triumph, have to agree the colours have got a lot better. I like the explorers but wife thinks they are to tall for her to get on and off with panniers. At our training scheme we have some new Tridents and I like the look of them, I was surprised at the amount of grunt those 660 engines have, I was impressed. They are just to small in stature not built for guys of our build.
I love the look of the Tiger 1200, but it's a lot to spend when we ride a bike each. It's possibly too much for just 1 up touring. The 660 Tiger might just be enough
A nice round up of Triumph's offerings, they do seem to have a nice selection these days with the exception of a proper sportsbike (the Speed Triple RR doesn't count 🙂 )
I still managed to miss the lovely Green Thruxton, but it's difficult to cover everything. Hopefully, we're heading back Saturday with friends for a relaxing non filming day.
It was nice to site on the new tiger 900. I bought the black and silver 2021 gt pro, after watchingr just dad, as the fccr was called back then. Enjoyed sitting on the new one, but can't really justify upgrading yet. That 765 did suit Carol! My brother has the latest rocket. He loves it, but also mentions the difficulty in reading the small tft screen. The Triumph technical expert semed to think the rocket power might be upped to 199bhp. Wait and see....
Jerry at FCCR and I have a bit of a mutual appreciation society. That Rocket he rode at Bonneville didn't look so good after his off. Chatting to the guys at Triumph, that engine is quite restricted and can give alot more. TTS have bolted a super-charger to one and have around 330bhp! Glad it's not just me with the small screens. I'm a bit of a traditionalist and love a pair of twin clocks like those fitted to the Bonneville T120
Even though I love my Multi V2S I do like the Tiger 900 GT PRO especially with the power and TFT upgrade, for B road fun I’d have a 765 Street RS too🤣. There are some great deals on the Tiger 1200 though, much better vfm and better looking than the new GS, arguably a lot better road bike as is the Multi V4S. Too many choices dependent on budget.. PS. Love the new Scrambler 400.
Those new 400s look great close up and are at fantastic prices. I'm guessing they intend to take on Royal Enfield who up to now have been under cutting them. Carol is smitten with the Yellow Street Triple RS. Our trouble is it's difficult to justify the expense of changing when our current bikes are so reliable
Thought bmw were going to empty your bank accounts, but you seem to like what triumph has to offer, they do make some great bikes. Good vids on each stand, you can now go back on Saturday without the camera and place your orders.
🤔🤔 We have to think long and hard before we spend our cash. Extended test rides would be needed and so far I've struggled to find dealers I can get along with.
Yes the original company had German origins but the company we see now only started when John Bloor bought the name and restarted making motorcycles. John was from just down the road from us in Swadlincote Derbyshire. Still owned by the Bloor family
