Have you heard of TRUAX? 🤔 Man, this version is bizarre, and it was created to be exactly the opposite of the Lorax, against everything he believes in! I'll tell you all about it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HyLM3VvTC98.html
Here's a quick fact about the Once-ler from the 1972 Lorax movie: The reason for the Once-ler not having a face in the book or 1972 cartoon was, due to the fact that Dr. Seuss wanted to show that anyone could and/or could've been the Once-ler, as well as become him.
They made him human to show that we are destroying the planet and there is no fake creature making a fake problem, the cause is real and the problem is too
@@matyaskassay4346actually illumination had a good reason for it. They said that the second you make the Once-ler a monster, it makes you think, “Yeah, but that couldn’t be me.” Giving the Once-ler a face makes it so we realize that if we don’t care about the environment, we could become the once-ler. The thing is, Illumination missed the point of their own movie.
@@ainkastewart4378 not giving the onceler a face doesn't make him a monster. In the movie he was portrayed as a nice person who became the way he was because of his toxic family background and other unfortunate circumstances. Thus, he feels more like a tragic character, a victim of his bad circumstances, rather than a villain who should serve as a deterrent example of how not to act.
Well to be fair the original song "Biggering" was giving a much more real and darker theme but because of "oH nOoO wE'lL sCaRe LiTtLe TiMmY" it was cut from the movie and was replaced with "How bad can I be"
I like the Lorax movie, the animation is very good But the Lorax original story by Dr Seuss always had a feeling of dread by the end of the book. “Unless someone like you care a whole lot, nothing is going to get any better…it’s not.”
Unfortunately for Dr. Seuss, Illumination completely bastardized the message of the original book by labeling the Once-Ler as a loner who is misunderstood and his family's greed and influence are to blame while O-Hare is labeled as the true villain. O-Hare took advantage of a business opportunity that was so stupid yet worked so well and is providing free air for everyone in his artificial utopia. The Once-Ler originally felt sinister and greedy just like a corrupt CEO who wants wants wants but never has enough. Illumination also ruined the Grinch but at least the Lorax is a movie so bad it's good.
O'hare could have been the guy who take over onceler's Business (Because onceler tried to stop the production) And then after ban "onceler" for the forest tomb And them he builds that city using the onceler's self-sustaining plans A "utopia" Theres a lot of Lost musics and scripts who could be used to "IMPROVE" The 1972 lorax actually But ilumination but the company that produced the movie would criticize themselves if they used the original music and scripts(who were the better version of original lorax)
@@KafuKemeh Of course I understand that. The problem is Illumination bastardized a beloved book by changing the message to fit their own interests while pinning the blame on someone. This movie is a corporate circlejerk.
@@KafuKemeh It's an Illumination Movie. There may be a song that actually does call lots of attention to this but they purposefully scrapped it for being too anticorporate. If Illumination wanted to actually say something about how bad corporations truly are then they wouldn't make any money.
Dr Seuss’s name was from his mother, and was also his middle name. The doctor was from him pursuing a doctorate in college, and he got it many years later.
Hot take: I think making the oncler sympathetic and start off normal was the right call. It teaches young children that even a good person can go down the wrong path and be corrupted by greed. I don’t support the cut of the song biggering though
“I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees, you break the trees I break your knees” -Lorax (edit:I did not make this line it was made by someone else I do not know who made it)
1:10 the film has been gaining a lot of prominence again mainly because of the message it convey. reallly i pretty sure it became popular because people think onceler is hot
@@sense.reginald maybe you could be nice and actually help me out and tell me what the name is because I forgot it sheesh you’re rude and keep it to yourself OK BUDDY
It came from a diary of a fairy tale that Dr Suess got inspiration for the book, he removed all the dark elements from the original tale since it was a lot darker than the actual book
I used to have a fear of the lorax. Ik it sounds rly stupid but my little 3 year old brain would have dreams about it brutally killing my family and friends
I used to have nightmares bout the grinch who stole Christmas 😂 I'd have the same nightmare of me being in his mountain or lair and he would walk up to me and tickle me 😂.
i still feel like the Lorax movie did a better job of being memorable for kids thus being more likely to stick its message in their minds *and the sheer fucking amount of hate it gets online even after all these years just proves how successful it was and still is lel*
When you loved this movie as a kid, but you grew up and became an environmentalist. Now that movie "About Captiaismj, greed and what not do to the environment"
I love that fact that everyone forgets the first story of the Lorax movie and only focuses on the once-ler story so much that I can even remember the name of the main character
My theory that the book and the old 19s movie and the 3d film are just different universe and the Truffla tree forest connect the universes but when the forest was chopped down all of the 3 universe Mixed.
I have a theory: The once-let kinda looks like Ted in the movie, right? He also doesn’t hesitate planting the trufula seed, right? What if in the movie, Ted is the Once-Ler
In the first week of March every year, many Elementary schools across the United States celebrate reading literacy and a good many of the Elementary schools recognize the children's books of Dr. Seuss. I believe, even though Theodore Geisel is dead, a genuine hope that some things can get better remains for future generations if they understand and can apply the lesson learned in reading Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax."
so you have spent 1,720,000 minutes\28666 hours?\ 1194 days/170 weeks/39 months/3 years/0.3 decades of just watching the Lorax? So you wasted 3 years of your life?
@@kraken6183 not at all, the original book was trying to tell a serious message and wanted to warn people about deforestation, but the movies just “Hahaha, funny slapstick comedy, hahaha so funny, hahaha Onceler be like!” Is just ruining the message That’s like making a movie about animal abuse and you try and get your message across by making everyone do the gangnam style every 10 minutes
nobody "forced" him to do anything, he knew what he was doing and he was at the bottom of all of it, he could have avoided this. but his greed had already corrupted him
Actually Onceler was not a villain he is just a young talented man that is full of energy and power, and he runs his business, but this criminal horde tries to get rid of him not even knowing who he was - the scene where he is unpacking before he gave marshmallows, after that he is trying to stabilise some good relationship with Lorax and co but the last one tries to make the animals rebel and actually kills Onceler who is brought back to life because of the bear incident, so actually if we are not subdued to echo propaganda - Onceler is really a protagonist and Lorax is the villain that should be killed
The Lorax ain’t no goddamn Villain, the onceler was completely butchered in the 2012 movie, they made him a softie who was pushed to the breaking point by his mom, the original onceler doesn’t care about the world around him, he’s too focused on his money and Biggering.
@@Blokythebunny05 I am talking about 2012 movie ,and Lorax is a villain- he tried to kill the poor guy but he failed so it was very kind from the side of Onceler not to kill him, what does mean too focused? He is just raising his own business - and he has right to do it and actually he tried to stabilise a good relationship with animals from the beginning but Lorax made them rebel
I heard a song got cut .. forgot the name of it, but apparently it gotten taken out because it was targeted against big corporations and could have been sued if it got played
