Selling our Omni printers was the best thing we ever did, even with the huge loss in selling them. The cost to maintain the printers, the cost of wasted shirts because of machine failures was a damn joke. We were running 4 printers 10+ hours a day. It was terrible. We switched to 2 brother GTX ProB printers and GAME CHANGER. one machine takes over the time spent on 4 Omni printers for LESS FREAKING MONEY. The second printer means we only print 5 hours a day. The cost to maintain is less and so much less wasted shirts. Choose wisely. Omni's require so much hands on care and money to run. It got us going but getting off of them was necessary. Choose wisely.

You should do a collab with "Demolition Ranch-- (also Off the ranch- channel) --- They built a large building and bought printers to do their own shirts here in the US. Its kinda a large operation just to be family owned. It would be pretty cool to interview him about the secrets he's learned also. Plus he's a gun channel and you would be able to have a good day of shooting guns with him and collab on his channel too. win win.

Another thing to factor in is the shop rate. You have to include the electric bill, the supplies, the rent/mortgage, owners pay, basically the overhead. If you don’t figure that in and just figure cost of the employee and the shirt, ink and pretreat you could find yourself wondering why your not getting ahead & bringing in money. Also, it’s not always good to pretreat ahead of time. Better to pretreat same day as you print.

@@WiseOnion what I tell everyone…Is the lights are still on and we’re still in business. Haha. We don’t just do apparel on our DTG printers. We also do home decor. Our DTG printers operate Monday-Saturday. They don’t sit idle. We have over 100k prints on them. We offer no minimums and no color restrictions. Most customers are attracted to the no minimums. It’s like any business you need to understand your costs and what’s coming in & going out.

John. How are you? Im kinda interesting in DTG printing business. Right now I have a brand call KLEEP and mainly importing goods overseas. And this importing business always takes time. I do have inventories so I can keep running my business but at the same time,if I can start this DTG printing business, it will cover all break period. I also have website and currently selling goods in there and have around $3000/mo sales. Online store is not my main business though. And I like to discuss more about the DTG business with you.

Questions. I just want to do simple quotes with a bit of color. Example: Is The Grease Poppin Yet?! In the color blue, black shirt or white and big enough to see across the whole shirt. Cause this cricut and Heat press don't cover enough shirt space.

I wonder how brand names like Old Navy or JCrew prints their graphic shirts. They may do it at their factories in China or somewhere? Their graphic shirts sustain after years of washing and drying. Finding a provider whose shirts will last long seems to be difficult for POD merchants...

You REALLY have to separate yourself from Omniprint. Your videos would be so much more Informative If you based this Information on other machines besides Omniprint. Or if you are going to continue to work with just Omniprint, Include that In your titles. It's super clickbaity when you post a thumbnail showing other printers but only focus on Omniprint.
@johnxsantos
@johnxsantos 3 года назад
The information we share applies to any DTG printer. You would approach it the same way, except use the data they supply. The goal of this video was to share a perspective from users of DTG machines. Crazy part is that the bigger DTG companies don't want to collaborate directly with channels like ours. But patiently waiting for them to reach out so we can show another perspective.

Great info but don’t forget to let them know how OmniPrints machines aren’t made to last! Prints are good dont get me wrong but the machines are not made to last at all! The print head will be the very first thing to go out ans by the time it does your warranty won’t cover it, that’s why the warranty time is so short because they know when it goes out, dampers mess up, cables burn out, pump goes out and also is very inconsistent at random times, you’ll spend more money on supplies and fixing the machine than you’ll ever make profit, and last but not least they have the absolute worst technical support ever!! Will be making a RU-vid video very soon on OmniPrint being the worst , honestly in my eyes i feel scammed by that company, they’re charging huge amount of dollars for product that isn’t even built to last

The equipment cost example is not the way to look at this. That's bad. He took the profit from several shirts and applied that to the cost of the equipment. I get it. He's trying to sell you a printer, and wants to show you how easy it is to pay for the loan. You want to know the lifespan of the machine. It does not matter if that machine is $15K or $20K. It does not matter what your loan is per month. What matters is what is the expected prints across the life of the machine, and divide that into the cost of the machine across its life to get the cost per shirt. That's part of how you determine the true expense per shirt. Then you figure out the maintenance cost in both material and time, and divide that to get a cost per shirt. You do this for every piece of equipment and disposable that you need, not just the few items shown in the video. Finally, you determine what your rate is to pay yourself, and add that to the cost to make a shirt. That's right. Your pay is an expense in making the shirt just as it would be if you had an employee. They make it look like you put $10 in your pocket for each shirt. You don't. If you do, then your business isn't making a profit, and it will fail. That's why your pay is an expense. Take your pay per day, month, whatever and divide it across the number of shirts you sell in that period of time. Then you can find out what the profit of this shirt is. That is the business's profit. That is what you then use or save for your business. If you do it right, you don't need a loan when it's time to buy a new machine, because a portion of the profit was saved. No loan means the cost per shirt goes down when you adjust your numbers. Then you can pay yourself more, or make more profit for the business.

many things wrong in this video. I am doing dtg and screen printing for almost 10 years. Here is thing, Amazon is screenprinters business, you need volume, cheap prices and FBA. everything else can be dtg. but if you don't mix screen printing basically never gonna make sufficient profit. DTG is just way too labor intensive. pre treating, loading artwork, printing takes time. and print costs way more than screen printing. you need to achieve volume on dtg and rock and roll on screen printing. 15$ price and 5$ is very wrong. shipping is 4$, marketplace takes 15%, advertising takes 20-25%, electricity, rent, labor, printer maintenance, inks, supplies, cost per Tshirt could rise very quickly, if you sell for 15, you make 2$-4$. if you don't advertise you don't sell at all.
@Paata02

and btw OmniPrints time is over long ago. Now Brothers and Epsons rules the world. Omni is just regular paper printer wrapped nicely
@taylorkaplan2614
@taylorkaplan2614 Год назад
@@Paata02 my problem is that I dont have space to do multicolor screen. A printer that can do a shirt in 4 minutes f2100 for ~1 a print is game changing for me as a clothing brand. The heat transfers are 12 a pop with min 10. For zero volume dtg to get you a lot more volume seems worth it and profitable.
