I went and toured Spencer's basement direct to garment print setup. Three heat presses, two omniprint 300tx plus, and one pretreat machine. He has had them for about a year and he may be bias, but said he'd buy them again.

I appreciate the video. DTG is a dream and a breeze for those of us who have been working in that space for a while. This machine is not the best to spend time recording to share with the audience however I love the your channel, I will keep supporting. there are way better machines then the Omniprints. My unit goes weeks with no usage, and no issues. The clogged head is really an outdated problem.

@@ttms I have a G4. the cheaper machines do come with major set backs. Also if one is thinking about getting info DTG I would say learn it first before you decide to make a big investment. Its not as easy as most people think. But its not always the machine most of the issue are operator error.

Great machines just like any other if you take care of them. Lots of people have had bad experiences but I've had nothing but good. We did however switchover to DTF fully instead of DTG.

Please call him and tell him the pre treat machine part that gets clogged should be placed in a cup with the specified solution when not being used so it won't get clogged, then all he has to do is take it out of the cup, put it back on and he is ready to roll
@maniakDna
@maniakDna 2 года назад
Use the super nozzle cleaner with a little of distilled water and dip those pre-treatment parts to maintain clean, if it is a rubber gasket just leave it dipped on distilled water overnight, The pre-treatment is the easiest to maintain. Hope this help I own 2 also….

Omniprint is an epson converted on sale for 13K, the epson f2100 at 14k and epson gives you up to 5 years in warranty . Honestly i see many businesses moving from dtg to dtf and dtf isn’t that great, like white toner you have to distress and halftoning, knockout black and more. Dtg and dtf are for few T-shirt, over 30 you want to work on screen printing.
@ttms
@ttms 2 года назад
Every machine has different features. As for screen printing over 30 shirts, I think it depends on the situation.

What kind of table do you have your printer on ?
@MikeAnning
@MikeAnning 2 года назад
Nice organised setup, for me though it is a little too slow in both production and ROI. Wouldn't it be nice if one day the pretreat for dtg was a single non clogging pass in the print process and for dtf the thermoset adhesive powder became a liquid form and was also simply a non clogging single final pass in the print process. One can dream, or one can be surprised if it already exists :)

Funny that pretreat machine is about 3-5k and clogs a lot. I have a Chinese $1,200 machine I bought used off fb market for $600 and hasn’t clogged yet after about 1000 shirts and never even cleaned or changed filters or nozzles. I just make sure I purge the system with water.

How do you handle the box around the pretreat when you press it?

You're likely using too much if the box stays.

Very interesting, Honest question... Could a person use a hand sprayer that can aerosolize the pre-treatment solution and save themselves 15K?
@ttms
@ttms Год назад
You definitely can use a hand sprayer. Most pretreat machines are $5000 new so you won't save $15,000. You will save some though.

@@ttms Thanks for replying. I'm considering buying an existing print business. It's a small, one-man operation that only does fine art replication via giclee printing on two epson p8000's. I've been watching some DTG vids to research some options to expand the existing business. I have zero commercial printing experience of any kind, so what would you suggest that could be an easy addition and maximize value to the shop? Thanks for your help

He mainly has one product he makes. It usually costs him about $1 in material and labor and he makes $4 profit. He does about 200-500 a month. He's not currently marketing or pushing for any other jobs. This is just side income for him, he has a full time job.

What's the best dtf printer 1000 to 1500$ range And heat press for 500$
@ttms
@ttms Год назад
I'd get a heat press from timetomakesomething.com/htw, but as for a DTF in that price range, you won't find one. You could convert a consumer product, but I wouldn't trust it to do business with.

The only one that will do polyester is TOTAL lie. ANY DTG printer will do poly if you sue the proper pretreat. They Print nice, but they are still technically a DIY DTG build, just a quality one. The kothari rip is what makes it shine, but you can run others on kothari as well. They are Epson R2400 which is discontinued and the DX5 printhead is expensive and hard to get with depleting stock. It also sounds like that PT machine is a headache. There are better much better ones, ones that give you more precise control and less headaches. Keep grinding though. You have all the right tools, now just use em to make yah money! upgrade and improve along the growth process.

My name is Edgardo. I bought a machine 2 years ago. The seller did not respond after the sale, and he resigned. The instructor after the class that we did not understand, resigned. The company did not answer messages and when they did, they told me the warranty expired and a piece was damaged due to not using it. Now they tell me that if I don't buy the part and all the chemicals, they won't give me service. So, I've been in this fight for 2 years. This is bad service and fraud. I paid almost 30k for the machine. Who can help me?

3:00 - that statement was so false. Any dtg can do 50/50 or 100% polyester. It’s just not recommended for long term. The garments won’t last as long but still come out pretty nice. For that being the main reason he bought freejet is laughable. These machines are epson based and manufactured in China like everything else. That’s the reason they all have print areas up to 16x20 which is epsons max
