The True Ending to Wizards of Waverly Place Revealed 

How do you think Wizards should have ended???

That ending does sound better then the one we got but I do wish instead of both ending we got the wizard competition abolished somehow. have the Russos band together to make sure this competition can't tear anymore families apart.

I literally thought the ending of wizards of Waverly Place was literally the movie or the hour long episode of Alex versus Alex

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong. Disney ending was Alex gets the magic, Justin gets fake-Dumbledores magic and goes to teach at the school, Max gets the sandwich shop. Right? It was a fitting end, but not as good as the Peter Murrieta ending.

That's actually a much better ending then what we got. Alex was always so close to being selfless but never fully got there, having her give up her powers like her dad would have been a huge character arch.

This explains why I loved seasons 1-3. Not to say the rest was bad, but seasons 1-3 were and are my favorite.

David DeLuise is the most wholesome man in the universe and if anything ever happens to him I will genuinely go on a rampage.

It did irk me because I remembered wizards aren't allowed to marry non wizards and Mason wasn't a wizard so if Alex was gonna end up with him she'd obviously give up her magic however the new showrunners retconed it so that if Alex was to end up with Mason she would have to be a Wizzaed because a Warewolf is too dangerous to be married to a mortal even though the rule was always "wizards can't marry non wizards", not "wizards can't marry non magical beings"

I always felt like season 4 of wizard felt a little off it felt different the vibe was off and now I know why !

Okay, now I understand why the last season felt more Suite Life, than "Wizard's of Waverly Place."

Considering Mason and Alex became low key toxic in season 4 this would have been a much better idea tbh

I like Peter's ending but I don't like Alex giving up her victory and powers.. I would rather have a way where all three could have kept their powers and end the family competition for good since it seems to in some cases divide families But finding out what the true ending would have been is great and it is a sweet sentimental ending

My issue with the Fourth Season is, (I would be shocked if I was the only one) Alex reacting in a way, Alex never would or episodes ending with an "Aww" type of ending where that would have never took place in the Third Season, not every episode in Season Four had this issue, but one could notice it for sure. The aspect of "Wizards of Waverly Place" I really enjoyed was that The Russo's loved each other, but they did not get along, the kids behaved how a lot of kids would. The fourth season did not hold that spirit at all or at least attempt to.

Oh my goodness. I love this so much (I love the hilarious inside jokes going on here but it’s truly a group of the sincerity of just wanting the context of the show back: I honestly believe it’s very capable in happening: it just needs to be arranged). Preferably with the original cast, Include Back In Peter M!! 😂❤ That’s forever how I’ll call him during this saga of Bring Back The Show!!! Hahahah. Awh. I love it. It’s very well understood, though since there’s the interest in bringing back the show, I definitely agree it would do great. It deserves to be.

Something tells me, if "Wizards of Waverly Place" was a Nickelodeon show, Mr. Murrieta would still have had the same issues, perhaps not as difficult, but the same type of issues would have occurred. One aspect I have always heard about successful TV Shows, the network/production company behind said show believes their the ones behind the success, not the creator/showrunner. I think Mr. Murrieta would have been better off waiting for the Disney Channel Executives to say "Do you have any ideas for the final season?" Rather than say, I have the final season already thought out.

I would've loved to see this. Mason was definitely not a favorite in season 4, which makes tons of sense now knowing all the behind the scenes stuff. Ending with Harper reading one of the wizard books would've truly made the perfect full circle moment. I still remember how future Harper mentions Mason when we meet her, and it was perfect since Mason had obviously not been introduced yet (great foreshadowing). Magnificent ending! I always thought the season 4 pilot was so weird since they took back the ending of season 3 immediately and essentially pretended like it didn't happen in S3E2. Mmmmmmmmm... Disney... Follow up questions though: - Are we following the rule that werewolves can't be with mortals? I think that came up in season 4, so it can probably just be thrown out since this ending wraps everything up so much better. - Does Max still get the sub shop? He seemed pretty chill about it in the episode. - Would there have been a follow-up movie (Alex vs. Alex)? Alex is the only one with powers in it (as Justin is said to be too busy at WizTech), so a different storyline would obviously be needed if Alex gave up her powers for love. Or would the movie just not exist?

That was a 100 times better ending. That would have been a great character arc for Alex which i think was missing from the show.

I like the ending that we got but not how we got there. I don't like the wizard competition being a game show. That said I also like this alternate ending.

It sucks that at that time that "modern audience" was not liking happily ever after stories. That would have been nice and very movie like ending.

I would've loved that since the future harper episode gave a crumb to mason and having everything tie back would've been great. I also think that ending was what everyone was expecting maybe with Justin giving to Alex instead

I think that would be cool is the fact she would give them up and have max keep them kinda like Jerry’s siblings max actually would’ve matured and done well I don’t know but to me max got so robbed and Left like he was nothing

One thing I really hated is how Max seemed to lose any nuance or complexity, he doesn't really have any arc, not even a love interest in the end if I remember correctly (not that I think a character have to end up with someone but he was the only one), he didn't even have an arc leading to him accepting the fate of becoming mortal, he just didn't even react. He became completely stupid and had nothing to contribute after he became a boy again. (Spoiler for the ending) The ending that we got was a bit wishy-washy, both Alex and Justin keep their powers because both had something to lose,Max lose his because we need someone to lose their power otherwise the whole competition is meaningless. Some of the ideas for the competition are great, like how there is a part that test their care for each other, but even if the entire competition was perfect and amazing I don't think it would hold, because the big question was who is going to win and how are they going to deal with the results? And we didn't get it, the only one to actually lose his powers was the brother that got the least focus and had the least to lose. I also think that if we are going to keep the competition we need to explore why is it necessary. I know it's a comedy show and it never took itself too seriously, but we know the competition can ruin families and the show already had characters questioning the validity of the competition (rest in peace Stevie), so either get to the conclusion the competition is not fair or justified and abolish it or justify it.

The last time i watched the whole series was summer of 2021. I could not bring myself to watch the last episode of season 4.

That would have been such a beautiful ending. Alex sharing that moment with Jerry, and finally overcoming her selfishness and giving up her powers for love. Then she would be human and grow old with Harper and Mason (or Dean.) It would’ve been nice if she gave her powers to Justin too, seeing how hard he worked for it and deserved it. I’d like to think Max would be okay with that too!

I always felt bad for Max for being overlooked at the end. Alex won (which lets be logical she would not have truly won) and Justin, who was the biggest cry baby IMO, still gets his powers because of Professor Crumb deciding “Ohh I am going to retire, you still get to be a wizard even though the rules are only one.” I can guarantee you if Justin would have won both Alex and Max would be out of powers. Basically it ended with fan fair. Too they could never come up with how the competition was go happen. Was it a set date, or not? Was it based on all children “qualifying” or not? I remember there being a point system, but then later Justin mastered 5,000 spells and got to be considered a full wizard (till he exposes wizard world to the Professor Crumb government test and now there is levels and Alex and Justin are a level 1 as punishment.)

WTH!!! Selena was so coked out she needed new Kidneys. All the adults involved should be ashamed of their connection to Dinsey's and Nick's sitcoms. The Wizards of Waverly Place was an amoral Sitcom. Aleister Crowly's Epicurean ethos is the last thing children should model their morés after. A kid's show should be ethos and should be the primary focus. The show's scripts were, basically recycled dribble filled with plotholes.

the best ending is mason is out of the picture entirely. stays a wolf for his actions after he completely breaking alex's heart after confessing his love for juliet and then making her old now leaving justin heartbroken. mason ruined alex and justin's life, he should be gone. after theresa talks to alex, alex now puts her entire energy and focus on the wizard competition. later dean enters back into her life, and alex now seeing dean more mature and able to express his feelings and emotions, talks to jerry about what to do, he tells her to follow her heart. after alex wins, she gives up her powers to be a mortal and be with dean who is also a mortal also knowing that justin wanted to win because he's spent his entire life studying and working for this, and also justin cannot end up with a mortal as we've seen through the entire show he only likes women from the wizarding world. and now that justin has the family power, he is able to change juliet back to her old self in this case young self reverting the damage that mason did. none of this off screen crap that we got

I wish I felt things more often. Honestly, if that was how the show ended, I might've cried while watching the final episode, at least. I guess I'll just have to stick with the Seymour Butts episode of Futurama. Not enough shows are allowed to have heart, properly.

No I wanted Alex to have powers, her relationship with Mason is more equal if she is a wizard and I don’t like the idea of a girl giving up power for a dude, no matter how much I adore the Mason and Alex coupling. 🤔
