5:20 Everyone always makes the same mistake, it's not "Elemental HERO", but "Entertainment HERO". The star in place of the usual full name marks this. Just a minor oversight tho (it's not like this card is widely known or anything, and I doubt Konami will make any more Entertainment HEROs in the future). 6:23 I WAS ORCUST BEFORE IT WAS COOL!
It isn't an E-HERO but technically is still a 'HERO' card so if there's a card out there that lets you summon any 'HERO' from your extra deck while ignoring the summoning condition then this would work. But there isn't such card I believe.
I always hated the fact that they "wasted" such great artwork on monsters no one can actually ever use. Grandpolis looks like a really awesome Number monster.
A top 10 on instant match winning cards would cool to see theres not a lot of videos that have ever talked about these cards and its always felt like such a shame that they couldn't be playable by having more balanced effects because of how gorgeous their artworks can be.
I guess thats a good idea to make it top 10. Since those almost like Instant Duel Win, have different criteria and difficulty to use. Or maybe you can talk about it in Trivia, especially about connection about card and location, and some of them have connection with Archetype. Just decide to link it with Archetype or Location
As much as these cards do ruin the game in some fashion, I really like the design of a lot of them and their inspirations of where the tournaments were being held at. I'd really like to see a top 10 of this cards.
I bought a replica Legendary Dragon Of White off of Amazon for my Blue-Eyes deck. I love the artwork and even though I can't use it in an official duel at a tournament I mostly just play for fun by myself or with friends anyways.
It has occurred to me that instant match winning cards would be better as Trap Cards. The Trap Card would specify the instant win condition; you Set it like any other Trap, and if your opponent fulfills its conditions, you activate it and win the match.
I feel like a rule should be added that if the instant match win effect is about to activate the opponent can’t surrender ,or penalize the person who surrendered because an instant match winning monster was on the field. It is similar to what is known as a combat log in a video game.
Im unaware by what you mean in regards to combat log, but yeah i think your idea has merit. Im thinking something like "The opponent cannot surrender whilst this card is face up on the field" on all the match winners. Should make for some interesting setups. Also.. whilst not a card game, Star Wars Empire at War does have something similar. If Grand Moff Tarkin (RTS game, hes a Hero unit, well okay Villain in this case, but he buffs the unit he is attached to, i think its always the strongest, cant recall) is on the field, you cannot retreat from said battle-
@@supervegito2277 combat log is a video game term. When a person is about to lose a fight or match that would put them in a disposition in the video game whether by ranking or such or just losing in general, they will log out of the game to save themselves. It is seen as cowardly and disrespectful in the video gaming community.
@@0__savitarr__085 Ah, that is something i do know, but "Combat log" is a new name. Ive always seen it referred to as "Rage Quit", occasionally also "DCing" for Disconnecting, if theyre doing so by cutting the internet connection.
Konami doesn't want effort and creativity to be rewarded they just want to make expensive meta that everyone has to buy, they value money above all else and then ban/limit them in the next 'patch' so people have to buy the new broken meta cards
Just from description, I can see why they would be banned from competitive play, but just looking at the effects descriptions of some of them I can see them being used for single round games or for fun matches because they don't seem to otherwise mess with the rules. I can also enjoy just simply making them as collector's cards. As someone who hasn't played Yugioh since middle school, things like this are always fun to learn.
I still think that a rule could be made saying If a card with this type of win condition is played, your opponent cannot surrender. That way you dont have to deal with the "Cant surrender during opponen's turn" and also "Cant just scoop as soon as I see the card"
@@thecardboardboxl3922 I would have to translate it into English first :) Mcguffin is any kind of artifact that heroes must achieve to make a progress in the story.
I really wish there was a way to play the match winners cause most of them look amazing and I would love to play most of them (like if we could get a version where they don't have the match win clause or have them gain unique effects for an instant win)
I love it when you do videos on yugioh especially the archetype ones. So what’s your favorite archetype in yugioh? Mine is the elemental hero’s archetype
Must be cool to have one of those exclusive match winner cards. They have such cool art, and there's so few in existance it's almost like your own anime ace monster. Maybe 1 day they'll change the surrender rules so we can mess around with them in some gimmicky decks. Definatly do a top 10 on these babies.
It seems like there are ways you could fix that by adjusting the card rather than just a blanket rule against surrendering during your opponent's turn. It would be pretty easy to add a line to the card that either says "Your opponent cannot forfeit the duel while this card is face up on your side of the field" or "if your opponent forfeits while this card is face up on your side of the field, you win the match." It seems more likely that Konami simply decided that they didn't want to torpedo the whole side decking give and take in the match format, rather than that they couldn't find a way to fix it.
Oh. I guess when I saw these cards somewhere on internet I missread match as duel and thought that effect isn't good. But then not including surrending mechanism that those effects seems intresting.
I cannot believe you put me in your videos. 4:40 - 4:53 That's so cool. I am The Yugioh Collector, I changed my name due to changing the channel, which never happened. BTW I still have those championship cards. Awesome Channel!
I feel like part of the issue is how powerful all of them are. I think it’d be a lot more interesting to have a card with something like 100 or even 0 attack and/or some other drawbacks (eg an additional effect to the match winning that’s actually detrimental like that all your opponent’s attacks are now piercing) that was hard to summon. It make them a lot riskier and interesting and likely discourage surrender to an extent if they were so unwieldy that they could also cost you the round.
There are numerous ones up on the illegal list, these can only be used in private play never by official duel Most Fusion, XYZ, Synchro, Pendulum and Link can not play in official duels and are only suited to private play by the usage of limiter text saying they aren't meant for that Victory Dragon needs you to sacrifice 3 dragons as the tribute cost in order to summon him to instantly win the whole duel, on one day of use a card as great in power as Exodia can be banned at the same point is truly surprising. Many of these instant match winners are written with the text "this card can not be special summoned, to tribute summon this card you must tribute 3 to a monsters type. if this card attacks directly and reduces your opponents LP to 0 you win the match" if it came from the OCG (the traditional cards) Victory dragon leads to the ban and going as far as Konami (As I believe the card was originally under Upper Deck Entertainment as distributed by Wizards of The Coast who is now a Hasbro company) banning that and all other ones like it For XYZ players Entertainment Hero Pit Boss who would be played from the extra deck as an Xyz Monster requiring one to build the overlay network by sacrificing 3 level 6 monsters as its cost, is illegal for it requiring an Xyz Summon, if it attacks opponent directly with overlay units on the monster (Xyz Material in the real world) matching its type, it wins the match. these win because there aren't overlay units to release for Synchro Summoner players, Grizzly the red star beast is illegal for needing an earth tuner and 2 beast non tuner monsters to synchro summon that, if it attacks its opponent directly the match is over for Pendulum players, these instantly win by being able to trigger either one or both the pendulum or monster effects. and for Vrains with the link method, these win duels instantly by means of the extra link and through control to both extra link zones.
I had a cousin who obtained a Victory Dragon when I was a kid and I always thought it was Winged Dragon of Ra whenever I got to look at it. Never owned a match winning card before though.
Couldn't a condition be added to the instant win cards that their match winning effect also occurs if the opponent surrenders while they are in play or on the stack (can't remember if that's the correct YGO term).
If you're still up to hearing ideas for Yu-Gi-Oh trivia, the World Legacy card should be a fun story. (Mekk-Knights, Krawlers, Orcust, Guadragon, World Chalice and Crusadia cards)
Yeah SJC's were never the same after that one. Cool video. They do have great art works don't they? Victory dragon, and legendary dragon of white are my favorites.
Winning the match with one card: against the spirit of Yu-Gi-Oh. Winning the match in the first turns of each game before your opponent can do anything: Well, hello there.
@@allihavearepasta-basedthou2890 yeah but most decks(to my knowledge) don't run them anymore, they focus on stopping you BEFORE battle phase, once BP starts they're typically just sitting there watching you declare the killing stroke helpless.
@@denzilbrowder5509 Didn't Danger!? FTK dominate some tournaments despite hand traps? That's not to run counter to what you said. I'm just curious as I remember there was some sort of fuss around it.
Ironically, I seem to understood the effects of those type of monsters after watching this video. I thought that they were illegal because their effects don't make any sense since I thought that a match refers to a single duel round.
I’m a little confused on victory dragon. It says if you “attack directly and reduce your opponents life points to 0, you win the match” but don’t you win anyways, regardless of victory dragon, if your opponents life points reach 0?
I understand your confusion. A duel is a best of 1, but a match is a best of 3 duels. Meaning if you decrease your opponent's life points to 0 on at any round of a match, you automatically get 2 victories even if you have 0 wins in the match prior
They could make a rule about surrendering similar to the games like the world championship/legacy/duel links where you could only surrender during your turn after you had drawn. Scooping just because, shouldn't be allowed. Or if you're gonna scoop without playing a turn or during your opponents turn should just be treated as a total forfeit. God knows how many games I had to pass because the other guy wanted a mulligan or I set up a board that he couldn't break without drawing his card for the turn.
Surrendering in a duel should mean your life points instantly drop to 0. So change the rule to have an extra step where a surrender makes that player's LP to 0. Then a match win card can have a condition when this monster is face-up on the field when the opponent's life points hits 0 you win the match.
Can you talk about the “Reshef of Destruction” if there’s anything to talk about. I know they made an actual fusion card of the Egyptian gods so there might not be much to talk about
I had no one you were a legit yugituber. I saw your video about the perfume and thought it was a one off. I had no idea you usually upload Yu-Gi-Oh videos. I'll be subscribing once I catch up with vrains and don't want to get spoiled by your review thumbnails
Kinda wish they would make it easier to get the diety of poisonous (venemous) snakes out onto the field. Or atleast feasibly easier so its not damn near impossible.
Hard to understand why they think Surrendering is OK and not OK at the same time...like, if a player surrenders in Duel 1 because of Victory Dragon, they just gets forced to a Side Deck strategy which can be a strategy by itself -- also, it's not like winning a duel is GSM, the monster needs to DIRECTLY ATTACK the opponent, meaning stalls against a match winner can be done to at least only lose a Duel at the worst.
I feel that surrendering to be able conceal cards and mess with your side deck goes against sportsmanship more than match winning cards so I still think surrendering during your opponents turn should be banned
@@IfthiAli i was a kid when i played. I used to love the veichroids. But i distinctly remember i had a decent deck built around using Felgrand dragons graveyard ability
So when I was a kid I got the first one, victory dragon. and Because I never played in a card game tournament before and thus never played yu-gi-oh as a best 2 out of 3 things. looked at the text " If this card attacks your opponent directly and reduces their Life Points to 0, you win the Match." and thought it was one of the most stupid and redundant things. "of course I would win. I took their HP to zero." Years later, like after getting into MTG and playing in tournaments and thus been in a best 2 out of 3 kinda thign. I was able to look at that card again and get what it was going for.
