1. No monthly subscription. 2. Payment taken at once for a whole year 😮 3. Only 1 sentence can be use to try voice over. Is this a joke? Sorry, honest review 😢😢
Hi Joseph! THanks so much for all the info. I have this channel and a gaming youtube channel. How would that work if I wanted to cheapest option? Thanks!
The cheapest option would be to opt for Artlist’s Pro plan. It provides clearance for up to 3 youtube channels (directly linked) and is cheaper than Epidemic sound’s Commercial plan. :)
@@JosephMartin Thanks so much. High quality videos are great and i know how mch work it takes. I htought I read that artlist changed some TOS and that it has messed up simple stuff for content creators as far as copyright material?
please can someone help I been paying for artlist for about 2 yrs but recently its started only playing a 20 second preview. I really used to like it playing the whole song and going to the next afterwards so i could continuously listen till I found a decent song do you know how I can make this happen again as its so fustrating having to keep going to the next while im working. Its a cool platform but will cancel account and going to another service if I cant fix this, Many thanks in advance :)
Turn off the button that says "Highlights" on the navigation just above the first track. It's the right-most button. It's on by default because it speeds up screening. It works for me because I don't want to take forever to search and screen tracks. His preview feature let's you hear the key section of the song right away. if you want to hear from the beginning, just click the start of the song. But if it doesn't work for you, just turn "Highlights" off.
Thank you for the video! Very helpful! I'm on the Music & SFX Social plan and want to use Artlist music on Insight Timer (a meditation app), but there is obviously no option for that in the clear list. Would upgrading solve that, or is there a workaround on my current plan? (I hope my question makes sense!😂)
Not recommend to use Artlist ! My video using songs from Artlist Pro ... keep getting Claims with same song same owner repeatedly ... very annoying 😩 Many videos with different songs have same issue from Copyright claims, even they will remove the Claims right after I reported it ... but it is still very annoying
Here to tell you it is untrue copyright clearing is easy because the music in artlist is also represented by different companies and individuals who will claim copyright themselves. In this case artlist is unable to directly assist you in clearing and will only let both parties know of the issue. The clearing itself needs to be done by the people who actually own the music on artlist and this will vary vastly from a couple of days to never. Actually in Korea it's almost always never unless you email them everyday for months or threaten to take them to court. Honestly I thought artlist was there so we didn't have to do all this, it doesn't seem to actually make a difference for the creators here.
Hey man just signed up for the cheapest option to get the 14 months with your link. I'm very impressed with the site so far. Thanks for your info and review:)
Iv been eith Artlist for 3 years . and 80% of the music I didn't use . and now i can't not use them cuz no Licence . When your subscription expire u are out of Luck 😆 you can not use the Music you payed for . All Scam 😆
My Problem is that you cannot find the cancel button anywhere on the website. Did contact them, but expect to find the cancel button on your subscription page...
HI, I have a Question, If you are using Artlist music, SFX and footage for a feature long Mockumentary/Documentary that you hope to release in the film festivals, is that also cleared by copyright and license once you have a subscription? Thanks
Yep! Here’s from artlist’s help center: “With a Music & SFX Pro, any Footage & Templates or Max plans license, you're covered to show your films in places like movie theaters, film festivals, cinema screenings, streaming and OTT services, premium channels, TV, RU-vid, Vimeo, and more”
@@JosephMartin Thanks for getting back to me Joseph, that's great news. I was on the fence regarding this site as there is always a catch or two in the fine print. But your response has swayed it for me. The average cost of a camera person in Ireland is around 650 Euro a day.
Artlist is not even half as good as it used to be. A song once licensed used to be valid for infinite projects and infinite years. But now the song license is valid only for the duration of the paid subscription. I miss the good old Artlist. Now there are far better alternatives available.
@@JosephMartin By significantly downgrading their licensing model, Artlist has revoked the power of lifetime licensing, forcing creators to continually pay for music they've already licensed. This change puts Artlist at a competitive disadvantage, as many other stock music providers offer lifetime licenses. These lifetime licenses grant independent creators more flexibility and long-term cost savings, eliminating the need to repurchase music for every new or re-uploaded video. Unfortunately, many creators may still be unaware of these superior alternatives, which is the only reason services like Artlist thrives.
Is the licensing still as powerful as before? or have it change any? now I do not edit video much but if I am to start Artilist is the service I would go for, that is if the license is the same as before.
The licensing has been changed. You can post/create videos while you have an active subscription, but if your subscription ends you aren’t able to post new videos with their music. Any of the videos posted prior to the subscription cancellation will remain cleared forever though. This is the same sort of licensing system as Epidemic sound and many other services.
@@JosephMartin well maybe not adding your channel on their website might be a solution then, right? bc they can´t know your channel then and whether you are subscribed or not? or is that a necessity now too to have to add a channel?
Actually, browsing does make sense for some of us because we don't always have a shot idea in mind. I might have a story in mind, but that story can be interpreted many different ways with different imagery. I've also been known to start from imagery and build a story around it. That being said, I have browsed for inspiration on stock footage sites MANY times.
Do you have to upload videos on youtube to clear them? I normally put videos on vimeo to link them to websites for my clients, or simply send them directly to them...
Nope! In your case, just be sure to download the PDF license artlist supplies for the songs to be safe in case you receive a false claim, and to share with your clients
What a great video! Too bad I found it after purchasing my sub hah. Quick question though, I'm editing videos for a client's Instagram page however it seems the invite link for the Clearlist only works for YT. Is there something else to be done when editing for Instagram or does the client just upload it without adding it to the Clearlist and just hope for the best? Thank you very much!
I’m not familiar with clearing for client’s instagram, personally - but I would guess you just hope for the best and contest the claim with your license number should it arise.
Hello there, I plan on using the music plan for my star wars edits and background music for Star Wars edits like fan trailers and tributes and talking videos. Do you recommend artist for that?
Not recommend for a long time projects. You will keep getting Copyright Claims again and again, even Artlist will help to remove those Claims... but you have to report it to Artlist Help Center ... it takes a lot of time to dispute and remove a Claim
Love these videos and honestly really appreciate you putting them out every year! I'm going with Epidemic Sound this year to see how I like using stems. Thanks for all your work on these videos!
Thanks! Motion array has decent footage. You’ll find a lot of the same videos as artlist max because the two sites are owned by the same parent company. Envato elements also has a lot of stock footage but the quality there is lower than artlist. :) Hope this helps!
@@JosephMartin ok I’ll check them out and see what works best! Btw I had to add www to your artist link otherwise the page wasn’t loading, not sure if that’s just an issue for me
Any videos you published while you had an active subscription shouldn’t receive a claim, but if you want to publish new videos with their music you will need to renew your subscription
@@JosephMartin nah you don’t understand, under the old policy I can still use the music in my intro, even after I don’t have a subscription, are you saying that now I can’t EVER use my intro again?
@@dajew915 That's correct. Without an active subscription, you will not be able to use that intro music if it's from Artlist. Without that policy in place, creators would pay for a month, download all the assets, cancel, and then use those assets for everything. Seems like a reasonable business model to me.
@@dajew915 I have same issue. I am getting the Claims with same song, same Owner ID again and again. Luckily I stopped using Artlist songs before my subscription has expired...
@@JosephMartin I still recieve claims while my subscription is active ... but when my subscription has expired, I received many more Claims even I don't use songs from Artlist any more.
Hi Joesph, thanks for this video. However, I have a different issue: / Artilist does not remove the watermark even on purchased subscription. I just subscribed to the monthly package and downloaded two videos. They're of standard quality, with the watermark still visible. This is unthinkable. I cancelled my subscription. For higher resolution, they asked you to subscribe for Max. If anyone wants to create your own music videos using Artilist videos, I do not recommend. Why? Because they display the watermark. I'm not angry, but a bit disappointed with Artilist [not with Joe, you're brilliant. 👍(I'll remove this comment after Artilist reply to my email.) [100% genuine case.] ❤
Hi Sumed! It sounds to me like you signed up for the Music and SFX social plan, is this correct? This plan only covers Music and SFX downloads, so any footage or templates will still have a watermark or be undownloadable. To download footage from Artlist you need either the footage and templates plan or the Max plan. Hope this clarified things! Let me know :)
