I realized (relatively chronologically late in life) that my happy place is being on-set…EVEN IF I’M JUST HOLDING A BOOM POLE. If I walk/drive by a location where there’s a shoot going on, I stop and ask someone there if I can assist. It’s pure joy to be a part of something CREATIVE…no matter how small a part I get. ❤️

Sheeess Dan, you always scare the crap out of us as to the difficulty of the industry. Your lucky that most of us keep going forward anyway.
@ActingCareerExpert
@ActingCareerExpert 2 года назад
Sorry Aceman. It’s not my intention to scare you. I just believe in not blowing smoke up anybody’s ass and letting them think that this is going to be easy. It’s a difficult climb but it’s worth every minute of it and I think people should move forward regardless of what I say and I encourage everyone because it’s possible to succeed in this if you work hard and you work smart. I’m trying to help people flatten the curve and get there earlier but I don’t want to miss lead them by thinking it’s going to be a walk in the park. Thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching. 🙏🏼

My “challenge” as a theatre actor, after learning self-tape techniques, acquiring the necessary equipment…and submitting over 70 auditions in the past year…only about 10 of my submissions were even viewed :( I had to decide that the process of preparing and submitting was helping me grow and enjoyable. But it is a lot of work, and very disappointing when no one views your work:(

I understand Linda. I've heard that not all auditions get viewed as well. I'm wondering how you know those numbers? 10 out of 70 How did you find that out?
@lindaanderson8329
@lindaanderson8329 2 года назад
@@ActingCareerExpert I submit them on Vimeo which shows if they have been viewed, how much of the submission was viewed and where it was viewed.
@ActingCareerExpert
@ActingCareerExpert 2 года назад
@@lindaanderson8329 Oh! That's a great idea. Do you even submit the Eco Cast on Vimeo? I'm not sure how that works. Most of mine are on Eco Cast and you at least get an email saying that they've received it, which doesn't necessarily mean the watched it.
@lindaanderson8329
@lindaanderson8329 2 года назад
@@ActingCareerExpert Since I do theatre auditions, I don’t use EcoCast. I get the notices through Actors Equity and follow the submission instructions. Usually I email the link to them per their request. Sometimes it’s an online form to submit. Out of all those submissions, I only had 2-3 companies acknowledge receipt of the submission.

Like others have said, and it can’t be said enough. You live it! It’s in you, part of you. It’s that unstoppable dream! Thanks Dan! As for how that commercial went… Well, all I can say is that I was told by the Producer & Director they could feel the emotion. Take care, Cindy

Apparently, there is another documentary called, That Gal…..in that thing. Just saw the preview, looks like something for your female audience to watch, as well. The guys could watch it for a little compassion for the gals and what they have to deal with, that us guys are less subject too. Paints a too real picture…. See ya

Exactly Simon. I've seen it. It's the same kind of thing, but the woman's view and struggle. They're all pretty eye opening.
