There is no such thing as being petty when it comes to a walk-through in a brand new house. I would check every single inch of that house and mark it. You did the right thing.

I love your house updates because we’re building our new Bahamas beach house now ! Hopefully we don’t change too much so we don’t incur additional costs. P.S. if you’re not dealing with a model situation and you pay an architect to design your house, if you make changes to the design..you can still run into huge costs so beware of that as well☺️

I already decided when I buy my next home, I’m going to get a house that’s like new but doesn’t have the new new price. That way I get all the great upgrades but the previous owner paid for it but I get it for the discounted rate. Once you’ve bought a couple houses, you realize it’s all about timing to get the best deals possible and don’t ever get emotionally attached. I love when Raven makes videos like this with her Mom. Always very informative.

Hi from Aberdeen Scotland. Please do look out for snagging issues like cracks when you move in after a week or so due to expansion etc Also every morning look for leaks after a shower every morning so that can be rectified before that creates an even bigger issue We bought a new home about 6 years ago. Had plenty of issues (being a new build) Hoping they are legit enough to fix these issues without charge as it should fall under the warranty

That was scares me about new builds. It takes time for the hike to settle. Also it’s a good idea to have a inspector go out from the beginning. If the foundation isn’t done properly then you’ll have tons of issues.

Raven, your bond and relationship with your Mother is everything! I lost my Mom when I was 9 yrs old. And today at 39 yrs old I still crave for her guidance and earthly body. Cherish every moment with her. These times are priceless. And trust that she’s has your back & best interest at heart. I would to see you two go on a tropical Mother & Daugther trip together. She looks fun🤗. But I know that your house is a major priority. I’m so proud of you! You inspire and encourage me, that one day I’ll also have a own house of my own. When we had our house built we had the house inspected multiple times. I think the most important one was BEFORE they put up the drywall and insulation. We were able to catch multiple code violations and it also gave us the opportunity to take pictures of inside the walls for future renovations.

I totally understand. I purchased 3 homes. One was custom. The other 2 were spect homes, which were almost complete but I was able to pick some of the finishes. Stressful and exciting time. Congrats Raven. Enjoy your new home.

I love that you're sharing this information. There's so much that goes into building even after choosing the home and features. I made sure I checked on my house twice a week if I was able to. And with the money we put into it I"ll be damned if i wasn't to my liking. I had the same issue with my bathroom and kitchen counters (The lighting in the design studio was trash) but we're giving it 6 months before we tear it up and put what we want.

Congratulations once again! I understand the stressful part about closing on a house and that darn “down payment” 😓. It was my first time going through the process but husband had done it before. He warned me about the closing process and ALL the paperwork you needed to sign. But I still wasn’t prepared. Even though we didn’t build our home from scratch, it was still both fun and stressful. I am looking forward to going through the building a custom home process... maybe because I am an interior designer. ☺️Best of luck ☺️

I agree but didnt know how to say it the main one I wanted to know was, what the inspector picked up on that they didn't...but she never got to finish. I think Raven gets frustrated cause her mom talks at a more deliberate and methodical pace. Whereas Raven speaks very fast.

Not that it’s really a good excuse, but my mom talks slow with lots of pauses because she’s not a crazy fast talking RU-vidr like me lol so in my mind I know it’s easier for me to help explain things faster for the sake of the video and knowing it’s gonna be hard to edit if she can’t find the words quickly enough. My inner “video editor” gets impatient...it’s still rude, I know, but just so y’all know I’m not doing it to be rude! And I normally wouldn’t do that in normal conversation, but like I said, when filming, it’s important to be quick. Oh and I didn’t cut off anything she said, I said what she was trying to say...if that makes sense lol

I LOVE these types of videos. Very informative and inspiring. We went through the house buying process 2 years ago and experienced most of what you have. Very stressful indeed. But we were crazy enough to close on our home and get married in the same month with me being 8 months pregnant so my stress level was out of this world... But like you said once it's all done you will feel so accomplished. My only advice would be don't feel the need to rush to furnish your home. Love your content and keep inspiring others.

This brought back so many memories of my first house construction. You are right about checking on the builders, damn near every day, because my first construction was nearly built on the wrong lot. Fortunately, my builder let me buy outside product to install in the house which kept my cost down, however, my second construction did not. You are really doing a good service for people who may be planning or going through this process. Your content is what a true influencer is all about.

10 minutes in and I am mesmerized.... this content... I love. I loved you already but this type of content just stimulates my mind.
