man i feel u on that "god forbid it last a year when u pay $2200" bro i spent $6700 on a new egr cooler with tha nox sensor and labor, mannn this damn thing still leaks ive been bac to tha dealership minimum 4 times over what 180 days and they still cant fix it right, its just enough of a leak to fail my pm inspections
Definitely hear you on this one. When I take that next jump I’m getting old truck pre emission pre egr. Get it fixed up while I keep the company job to make sure it gets me down the road and back. You always give me good info every time.
Great video. I have 2014 Peterbilt 386 glider kit with 12.7 Detroit under the hood with 740k miles on it, and I will hold on to this truck for as long as I can ✌🏼
I'm currently in the process of purchasing a used semi-truck with the most reliable engine, preferably under 5 years old. Brands I'm considering include Kenworth, Volvo, or Peterbilt. I'm still researching and not entirely decided, but your information is proving to be helpful.
I was hauling for a company somewhere in Ohio and there was a line all the way out onto the freeway, not waiting for diesel, but for DEF. This last weekend I went and paid cash for a beautiful Kenworth with a C12 and 10 speed. No DEF, no mess. Now I’ll start the process for my own Authority or I’ll lease on somewhere.
My last 2 trucks, 1.3 million Detroit, sold them with no blow by. Did my oil change religiously at 15k delvac oil, but those were none emissions trucks. The truck I have now has 700k. It's a dd15, still going strong, but being an emissions truck, I don't know.
@@paceta80 not at their current prices unless you have some high paying specialized loads lined up to pay for it and the current general freight and general flatbed market rates don’t sustain the price of new trucks right now, especially on hood trucks IMO…. Hood trucks hold their value, but you pay for it upfront
This way new trucks make $ I write that truck off for 5 yrs it depend I would go new if running OTR anything less used . Keep it put other driver in it. I plan on leasing give right back to them
hell, Flatbed for me is not paying anything. As a company driver for a company that rhymes with droid transportation. I'm only making on average $900 a week and only $25 tarping pay. The trailers are breaking so often I'm forced to only have 2-3 runs in a week and I most of the time. I do not get compensated enough for break down pay. They usually just give you the minimum pay which is $812 in my case others its $650 depends on what insurance you got.
You’ll never make much as a company driver and you’ll never be rich as an owner operator either….I’ve said it over and over again, “ only a fool gets into trucking for money”
@@sturgelltruckingllc4074 Ain't that the truth. I don't see it going better anytime soon. Sucks because I love driving truck. Somethings gotta give in the next 10 years or it seems that shit will just hit the fan.
@@spike8007 wages have definitely gone down thanks to the influx of foreign drivers that will work for nothing because it’s more than what they had where they come from, I’ve never been in trucking for money and I’m at the end of my career but i’ve always made a pretty good middle-class income however things are changing and I tell my son don’t even thinkabout getting in the trucking business go do something else,!!!! trucking used to be awesome, and we had a good run, but two major events killed the trucking industry, deregulation, and the end of the master freight contract and the automatic transmission, now it’s nothing but non-English-speaking flip-flops and pajama pants racing through the truckstop and parking in the fuel islands😔 if you’re young and don’t love trucks, I tell everybody go find another way , you’ll thank me later
I suppose, but your first mistake will be getting in the trucking industry for money, if that’s your reason please for the love of God go do something else, you’ll thank me later
Matt, you should swap up your load board search segment for used/new truck search segment? Things look for, things to run from etc etc!! Thanks be safe!
Do you have mechanic go with you to dealership or drive it to mechanic? Will dealership let you drive it off to get checked before purchasing it? How's that work? Thx brother
You take it to a mechanic in the area, or some mechanics will come to the dealership for a pre-purchase inspection… if the dealership won’t allow that don’t do business with them
Lol newer trucks with very low milage has more buggs to work out buying a used one bugs are gone and taken care of less mechanical issues i have had a brand new truck and it was a maint. Nightmare out of pocket i own a 1989 k100 with a 3406B has not given me any problems well taken care of by my grandfather
Not all used trucks are well maintained, but as long as it was original owner and not "fleet maintained"you won't be fleeced. But again not all but most
Does CRST include/require warranty on lease operator? And secondly do they allow you to inspect the truck before signing papers. Lastly, are they USED trucks or are they fresh to the driver. Seems like a trap to lease on with acquiring a used truck. I am 2 years experience delivering pepsi, grated day cab and 34' dryvan as one of your videos said "taking on too much at once" jumping into the flatbed lease program though I welcome the challenge and respect the videos you have put out.
Warranty is definitely a joke I wouldn’t count on shit! My truck sat at the dealer 2 weeks before they even looked at it. Then they wanna call me to tell me I gotta move my trailer so it of the dealer 😂
???? What are you asking me??? And what does it have to do with buying a truck? Are you talking about some battery pack APU? No thanks. My tri pack works perfectly and until it breaks I’m not gonna look at any other options, plus batteries and super cold weather don’t go in the same sentence so I’m not sure I would want to rely on it in Chicago in the winter time, you should’ve seen all the Tesla scattered and parked along the interstate up there when the temperatures dropped below zero this winter😂😂😂
Lol i used to be a maverick driver. Back in 2015. Best rookie flatbed company....still rookies though lol. Your right too. Its all pretty much a wash. Feels like a big roadblock to me...ive been in 9 years and still company driver. I really want my own rig tho. Tell me what you think about the International HX620 with S13 powertrain. I know A26 is garbage but this was developed with Scania. I need an auto because im disabled
The Japanese take pride in what they do as long as it's made in Japan...An American made Toyota or Honda havevall types of problems with quality....sad to say.
Still gotta turn a profit before you concern yourself with write offs. I’m a dumptruck O/O in the fairly reasonable state of SC. Been driving an 89 kenworth for 8 years. Debating just buying a second old beater just to keep something on the road. These new trucks just aren’t holding up. If I were to run into problems with a 4700 truck payment I don’t know what I’d do.
What's up remember I asked you do you think the ab5 thing will go national you said no but guess what on March 11th of this year it goes national by a federal law by the government I think it's more for lease purchase but it says contractors with there own truck and trailer to leased to carrier's it's all about tax money ask crst I bet they know about it peace
Basically there forcing everyone to get there own authority that's awful lot of owner operators that will be on the spot market wow the federal government is something else hope you speak on this in your next video peace
Not true…. I’ve done a bunch of research since you brought this to my attention yesterday and this is not the same as Ab5, and most likely will not even go into affect, but we’ll talk about it tomorrow in the money and news…
