Just gotta put this out there. Once i got my cordless vacuum, i started vacuuming as a hobby. Corded vaccum feels like a chore and a hassle. Now i want to vacuum and have fun with it.

This is the problem, when I got my own place I got a big Shark corded vacuum with a HEPA filter and everything, and it’s a fantastic vacuum, but it turns the chore of vacuuming into a long and very involved process, so I don’t do it very often! I wait until my floor is so dirty I can’t bear it anymore I’d rather have a cordless vacuum and just do a quick tidy up once or twice a day. Since I already have the corded vacuum I’ll definitely be keeping it, because it can do a very deep clean on carpets. But I really need to get a cordless to help me keep my floors clean on a day to day basis.

I have 4 children and have to vacuum something daily. I love my stick vacuum. The corded one only gets used for giant messes.

Have been in the cleaning businesses for many years, have used countless different cordless and corded vacuum cleaners, I carry both types when I'm on a job, I access each job whether I need a corded or corded vacuum, I prefer the cordless as it's lighter more maneuverable and i don't have to worry about power points or pulling cords behind you and there's no chance of customers tripping over power cords, most cordless vacuums I use have between 50-60 minutes running time and I always carry a spare battery .

I just want to keep a vacuum next to the cats litter boxes. I have two boxes, and keeping up with the sand can be tricky sometimes. I don’t want to lug around a giant vacuum just to use it for less then 30 seconds at a time

I don’t care if a corded deeps cleans better. I can clean much more frequently with a cordless, so my home is cleaner in general than with corded. Also pets and children have the tendency to have unexpected messes where the weekly corded clean won’t get to unless you vacuum right away. Cordless makes that more bearable while a corded is still stuck on the weekly clean. And don’t forget the ease of car cleaning without needing to go to public car washes and not dealing with extension cords, especially if you live in an apartment setting. Another thing that most built in or canister vacuums can’t do is remove fine stuck on dust from hard floors, relying only on suction. It’s similar to how a vacuum dusting brush removes stuck on dust from furniture better than blowing alone. Like a dry mop. Many new premium cordless vacuums already clean as good or almost as good as premium corded in their normal power mode based on some online tests. Unless you have to clean your entire home in one go each time and do 10+ passes in every square foot of carpet (which is the real way to deep clean carpets), cordless is practical for most, especially since you can vacuum small sections multiple times a week instead of one long clean. I can vacuum my entryway every single day which has been easier and faster to do than using a broomstick or corded vacuum.

100% agree. Wish someone would have told me this when we moved into our first house. Took me about a year struggling to vacuum the whole house with a cordless Dyson to realize I needed a corded vacuum for my weekly deep cleaning. Ordered a corded Dyson and I’m so happy with the duo setup. Great video! ❤

I made a test. I have two carpets in my apartment which I vacuumed thoroughly with my Electrolux vacuum which has 1800 Watts of power. After this I took my Dreame XR cordless and vacuumed those carpets again on the lowest suction setting with universal electric brush and guess what, it was FULL of dust, sand, human hair etc. So don't tell me that you need a "normal vacuum". Those days are gone.

Also, most people don’t vacuum their home the way they are supposed to, either. They forget the couch, the baseboards, window seals, bedding, pillows, fixtures, cobwebs, under furniture, etc. The floors are the bare minimum.

For deep cleaning carpet, gotta be direct fan with serious brush roll and beater bars. I'd LOVE it if Milwaukee or EGO strapped their batteries & motors to a simple Sanitaire. I'll be first in line. Until that day, I'll limp along with a disposable Stratos Cordless for a daily driver, and one of my direct air antiques for occasional "deep cleans".

Yes you are absolutely correct. There’s no way a cordless vacuum can fully deep clean your house. I use mine in between cleaning with my main corded vacuum. My cordless picks up a lot but cannot get under everything therefore I have to use my main one to clean under the really low furniture. If I go a longer period of time without using my main corded one I can really tell that my home is not as clean as it usually is.

100% agree battery lasts 12 mins on most affordable vacuums and a full charge takes about 8 hours. If you want 60 mins run time on a single charge you’re looking at vacuums over $1000 (CAD).

So not true. I vacuume evrybday sometimes twice in a specific area. Just bc i love the convenience of the Dyson. So my floors never collect dust. In the past with the cord vacuum I hated vacuuming and so dust used to just site there fir days. So bc off my Dyson I don’t need deep cleaning bc I never let it get that messy that it needs deep cleaning. I even want to go out and get a new Dyson v12 for the second floor off my house just to make it more convenient for myself.

If you're doing daily vacuuming the place should be clean enough thay you shouldn't need a heavy duty corded vacuum, even if you did get something small for the edges of the room like a power tool battery hoover that way your don't need to store 2 large vacuums.

My Dyson v11 outsize has 220 air watts and can clean my fairly decent sized home on 1 canister. My henry has 229 air watts but it has a cord. Its not even that much of a difference. Obviously im going to use the outsize all the time because its actually fun to use. Dont get me wrong i love henrys, but i sometimes just want to vacuum quick and easy. Plus most of my house is hard floor, and the dyson laser fluffy head is great for hard floors. And then i have to ask the question, why would a large cordless vacuum to vacuum the entire house exist when you are ‘supposed’ to be using a corded vacuum🤦

Actually your wrong. We have a Tienco Cordless S12 as our only Vaccum cleaner. We are 3 adults and 3 kids. Never had a complaint. I even purchased a Third Battery and a Extra Tienco S12 second hand. This way we can use the Vaccum for a whole hour on max suction. We pair that with a steam mop. When we had a corded Vacuum we used to Vacuum once a week or every 2 weeks. It was a mess. But the cordless option allows us to Vaccum on an ongoing basis without the need to do a deep clean. But once a month we do deep cleaning using it and we never feel the need for more power. Only 1 thing to point out is that we only have tile and Laminate flooring. We have a Carpet on which we use the motorized Carpet brush.

He's right, the amount of power in a corded vacuum motor is far too high for a battery to be used. Especially for the amount of time that the average consumer uses a cordless. A corded Hoover will beat a Dyson every single time and that's simply because it cheats by having "infinite" power to work with. There's a reason hotels use giant industrial vacuums and it's not only for the durability. They simply put work better for the job since they are provided both the motor space and power needs to do the job.
