First....that tie/ascot is everything! But the sleek ponytail and even beard..... I'm done😂. You look marvelous! Now back to this hair situation.... I've always had what I considered thick high density hair- but lately it's thinning out (with the help of this dang thyroid medication) and it looks more and more like fine hair! Color damages it now and it doesn't like heat at all. Guess I'll be throwing my hat into the wig game now for real. Thanks for this great info and stay fly my brotha😎!!!

@The.Whoever
@The.Whoever 4 года назад
I have fine, thin-medium density 4b/4c hair. I've had to learn to lighten up on products and not be so heavy handed. It's interesting being a natural with thin density. You're often seen as having damaged hair. As if it's not normal to not have a high density of hair. Especially when you have afro hair.
@aprilbrown7480
@aprilbrown7480 4 года назад
The Whoever Girl!!! You just spoke a word...yes! My daughter is of the same type but all products claim to be for damaged strands but they are not. The strands are fine, dense (a lot per section, and healthy). My challenge is keeping it moisturizes without weighing it down. What products have you found to work best?
@The.Whoever
@The.Whoever 4 года назад
@@aprilbrown7480 Aint it the truth. I use Knot today as my leave in. I either use it straight up or make the kimmaytube version. As for my moisturizer, right now, it's Camille rose aloe whipped Butter gel. I've found that I can use heavy moisturizers, I just have to make sure I'm not using a huge amount of it. I have a habit of being heavy handed. So if you're not already just try decreasing the amount of product or going for products w/ a lighter consistency. So if you use a quarter size amount per section, try making it a nickle or dime size amount. I have yet to try any lotions but they tend to be lighter than butters. Maybe give those a try or look for products that say "light weight". But try decreasing the amount of product first to see if that helps. Good luck, sis!
@The.Whoever
@The.Whoever 4 года назад
@@aprilbrown7480 Oh I should also add that I use aloe Vera gel. I keep a spray bottle of half aloe gel and half water. I cant use water because it will open my cuticles. Ispray my hair w/ that and then I LCO using knot today, a bit of the Camille rose butter gel and seal it all in w/ a mix of mostly olive oil and a tad bit of castor. The key for me was to find products that seals my cuticles & keep the moisture in without being to heavy.
@aprilbrown7480
@aprilbrown7480 4 года назад
The Whoever ok, ive seen Camille Rose products on the shelf but always thought them to be for silkier hair types. We’re more type 4 kinky coils than curls. It sound like you wear your hair out and we still tame our hair in braids or cornrows at all times. I’m a big Shea Moisturire fan, JBCO or Manuka Honey. Thanks so much for sharing. I’ll definitely be trying something new 🤗
@The.Whoever
@The.Whoever 4 года назад
@@aprilbrown7480 No I actually keep my natural hair in plaits for 4wks at a time. I'll wear my hair out for up to a week after that and then put them back into plaits for 4wks. Camille rose is indeed for us type 4 girls too. There's a lot of 4c girls that use her products. My hair is the total opposite of silky lol. Sounds like we have similar hair. Im sure you can find type 4 girls on youtube reviewing her products. I use those products when my hair is both loose and in plaits. And yes. That Manuka honey is bomb. I love the smell. Wish they had it as a perfume.

I have fine hair, medium density and a z pattern. No curls or coils. I'm very prone to dryness, breakage and heat damaged. I also have a tender scalp. That being said, I Love My Hair! I don't wear it out often but when I do it's very pretty. I need a heavier product for elongation and twist outs if I want it to last more than a day.The shrinkage is real! I only do twist outs prior to my shampoo day. My beautician washes my hair every two weeks. Wash, condition, blow dry and three cornrows takes all of 30 minutes. Deep condition and trim days of course take longer.

Thanks so much for this. I now understand why my coarse hair can take medium heat from blow outs. I hardly see breakages. Oils only make my hair drier. Having 4B low porosity hair too grease works as a final sealant.

Thank you for sharing your God-given gift of teaching with the world! I soooo appreciate it. i always learn something new when I view your videos. If by chance you can find time in your busy schedule (it wears me out just listening to you describe all you do), some low maintenance protective styles for persons such a myself (a nurse working 12hr shifts). Thank you

I have learned some very important things about how to take care of my hair. I used to just shampoo my hair and put leave in conditioner but you said use the rinse out conditioner too. Thank you!!!!
