@@N0zix420 they just need to be broken in more than most cus of the stiff leather, mine are one of my most comfortable highs now after a good work week worth of wearing.
See that set up makes more sense to play in. Really makes me mad when Jordan brand say they will “make the same shoes as Michael wore” and still take a short cut.
I really want these but I’m starting to give up on sneakers... I can’t cop nothing no more and I refuse to pay resell on a newly released sneaker. I can live vicariously through this footage, thanks for the video.
Buy them, you won’t regret it. As of now, these are the cheapest 85s you can buy off the resale market. I’ve been wearing my pair consistently and they’re breaking in nicely. They feel like a completely different shoe overall, from the thick cowhide leather, to the shape and comfort.
@@wwesuperstar1100 It’s an odd fit. The leather on the toebox goes up slightly higher closer to the second eyelet, so you’ll feel it. And the side panels are definitely more narrow. I will say if you’re one of those people who wears them once a month, they’re not for you. I wore mine for two weeks straight and it was barely enough to start creasing the toebox. They are breaking in nicely though.
I totally agree, the best shoe is the one you like AND are able to get for retail!…forget the hype, the most important factor is 1. Do YOU like it and 2. Can you attain it for retail
Brooo he’s so true tho about having to buy into it and the shoe of the year like even shoes that supposedly “bricked” I can’t even get... they keep limiting and limiting the supply and it’s to the point I don’t even want to try anymore but of course I will if I want it
I’m glad you had the opportunity to review the OG 85 High and compare it to the regular AJ 1s. As for attainability, I had to get the Neutrals on the resale market. Sucks but it is what it is. Appreciate you as always Chris.

Okay before anything else, i own a 1985 jordan 1 chicago and as a heads up, the insole is actually much thinner than what the natural grey hi 85 brought. The shoe model is blended with mix parts that each factory back in the day made with their unique variations. It also includes canvas lining, tongue padding is bigger and longer like the ogs, and the best part is the rubber on the outsole is very VERY different from today's jordan 1s.

Thank you for stating the true to size I am looking into getting a pair and I had heard mixed reviews on how it fits and lots of folks disliking them due to the break in process but not a problem here. Any luck getting them yet? I just ordered a pair for $300 US shipped, so prices have got a lot better since release, at least. $100 over retail isn't great but it's a hell of a lot better than the $550 they were sitting at before.

All puma boxes used to have the info of the shoe you were buying + some Easter eggs or jokes like an arrow pointing to the shoe with "wash this when dirty"
Such a clean and great looking shoe. I want them soooo bad but it's so OP and stocks are too limited. As always, this reviews proves that this channel is the best in the game. The review is so in depth and is shows how much passion Chris has for this stuff. And I love the "Sneaker of the Year" rant. Chris is just a man of the people.

I agree 110% with Chris, if only less than 10k people can get a shoe, and pretty much most of them are being held by resellers, then it can't be shoe of the year.
Bought my pair when they dipped down to around $380 and have zero regrets. I wore them for two weeks straight, and that was barely enough to get some creasing starting to happen on the toebox. If you’re thinking about pulling the trigger, do it. The shoe feels like a completely different shoe than what we’ve become used to with the newer Jordan 1 retros.
When he was talking about how it's hard to get these OG (85) and Airship, that hurts and I'm Aussie, if he can't get them, what's that say about my chances, damn. I hate this resell bs. I'm glad I also like 70s 80s vintage runners because they are hella cheap, clean and not hype.

Never in my life I would thought I would dislike Nike. It is not even because I can't get a pair of any of the hype stuff, but clearly they are profitting on resell than their intended consumer. Think about the Go FlyEase, marketing it for the disabled then producing limited quantities so that only scalpers can get it and make profit off of it. It is really unfortunate and disgusting. I hooped in 2001 AJ1s back in like 2009 and they were always one of my favorites to hoop in..I’m curious how these will be once broken in on the court. I haven’t seen any on-court review vids for 85 retros so you just convinced me to hoop in my neutral 1s now lol

I've seen a lot of people complain about how stiff and uncomfortable the leather is but Chris really loved this one. Makes me wonder - were the OG and the '94 pairs the same, stiff at first but comfy after being broken in over time? Help would be really appreciated!
I’m so happy I got these on the SNKRS drop! Definitely a shoe I’ll have on for special occasions. Tried it on and agree that you can tell the difference in the sturdiness of the fit compared to other J1’s
The Nike Air Zoom Dunkesto comes with a PU insole with a thin heel zoom unit. I put that insole in my hyper turquoise AJ1 low and it’s great. The Dunkesto has an EVA midsole that looks like the rubber cup sole of a dunk, so I just double stack a pair of cheap open cell insoles I have. The upper is neoprene with spacer mesh, so the fit is not affected much because of the flexible upper.
I feel like JB should limit the amount of colorways they release for their legacy line (1-14 og/retros) and instead release them in greater quantities. Instead of some brick colorways just have maybe 12 Jordan 1 Retro highs for the year that are in high quantity, This way more people can cop at least 1 or 2 instead of paying 400 off the rip for some university blues or Mochas. As for botting issue, I really want to know whether or not it's actually that hard to have a system where it detects that if there is more than 2-3 of the same shoe being shipped to 1 address, they would just cancel all following orders of that said shoe to that address.

This is just a great time to start buying old releases. Can’t tell you the steals I found on some Gary Payton’s, air shakes nd , air rise and a air total max in the Steelers colorway for the price half the price of a basic jordan 1 color way.
I never buy shoes that I don’t plan to wear, but these have been sitting for months. They’re just so beautiful and it would kill me to mess them up haha
