We all know left 4 dead 1-2 only take week between game. If left 4 dead 3 are 1-2 years later, game will filled with mutated zombie, and normal zombie are so rare. Only fresh meat become normal weak zombie.

Something definitely had to have happen within the company. The wait has been so long for Half Life 3, and Left for Dead 3. That some of the voice actors have passed away from old age. Think it's safe to say they have no intentions making any of the games or doing a follow up.
To be fair Back 4 Blood is not a bad game, it just doesn’t come close to Left 4 Dead. It can be fun for sure, but the problem it has in my opinion is that it lacks identity wise, what I mean by that is that the special zombies have a very lazy design and the variants of each special zombie class are just a copy paste. The main characters aren’t also the special, while we had Bill, Coach and Ellis for example in L4D who were so special that I remember voice lines and their design… can’t say the same about Back 4 Blood. It’s sad because Back 4 Blood has the potential, even the card system can be a lot of fun and is a cool new approach, the tunnel dlc is amazing and the latest maps they added are fun, have a great design and just look cool. I agree that Turtlerock and 2K could create something very cool together, let’s hope it happens!^^

unfortunately the team behind back 4 blood wasn't the same team behind left 4 dead, when they started advertising back 4 blood there was like 2 original left 4 dead devs left on that team and the rest had moved on and even if that wasn't the case im sure half of them didn't stick around for years just to make a crappier knock off of their work. The reason why left for dead was made in the first place under valve was to put their horde AI director to the test (this being the core reason for LFD existing) and then building around that foundation with great story, characters and gameplay . of course after two games of building that up they had no reason to make another because they couldn't push anymore insane tech advances to show consumers and as many has said already, valve wanted source 2 to be the next big step for any of their game title releases.

I love the story of l4d because it doesn’t need an exposition dump or a verbose yap fest. The game shows the story through its environment. I also want a l4d3 because I want a closure for the l4d2 and l4d1 survivors and a new story like whatever happened in the west coast and other parts of the world

For left 4 dead 2 remaster, we really need to start off with the characters Character 1: mike. Mike is a engineer who worked for ippos engineering company for 6 years, hes 32 years old, just like ellis, he tried making a car 100% zombie proof, and it was 100% zombie proof. But there was a huge car crash in his way, trees fallen down cars smashed. He found a car dealership. Character 2: Drake Drake is a bus driver, he has been a bus driver for 12 years, hes 42, Drake tries evaluating, but the zombies already caught up with the evacuation group. He gotten away and went to this car dealership where he met mike. Character 3: izzy Izzy was in a band with her friends, she plays drums, she been in the band for 4 years, she has been playing drums for 7 years just like her dad, her das passes away she she was only with her mom, shes 20. Her and her mom was eating dinner when a zombie was banging on their door, izzy mom opened the door and the zombie was eating her alive, izzy rushed to the kitchen and opened the safe, she shot the zombie, izzy’s mom was laying on the ground, coughing blood, izzy’s mom told her “you know what happens in zombie movies when you get bit?” Izzy says “yeah?” In a sad to r while izzy cries* “do it to me” I love you Izzy: “I love you too mom..” she shots her mom, when she heard the evacuation groups have been evacuated, Izzy finds a car dealership where she met Mike and Drake. Ill try to figure out what the 4th character should be. Reply to me to think of one. Update: new character Character 4: Benjamin Benjamin is a man who makes fans, he is a co owner of ricks machines company, when he was at work, a man rushed into the bathroom, a few minutes past, another man goes to the bathroom, when he went inside he got pounced and eaten alive, Benjamin ran out of the room, and ran outside, he got in his car and drove home. Zombie jumped on his car, he couldn’t see, and lost control, he crashed into the tree. The zombie got crushed by his car, and died, Benjamin got out of his car and ran to a building, it was a car dealership. Campaign starts: Izzy Drake Mike and Benjamin meet, they make sure that they aren’t zombies, then they head to a safe room nearby Campaign name: blood rubber tires, Campaign description: the rubber tries are filled with GUTS.
I’m pretty sure one of the main reason the game got cancelled is because half the team wanted it on source 2 but the engine wasn’t easy to work with and the other half wanted it on unreal engine so they just said fuck it and scrapped the game I think they should pass the rights of the game to a studio who will do a good job been waiting for this game since I was 5 now I’m 20🤦♂️

Honestly, i do want Left4dead3. But knowing that it's valve that made the franchise the masterpiece that we all know and love and not Turtle Rock, i can see the reasons why it's almost impossible to happen. Because people have a REALLY high expectations for Left4Dead3 to be another Masterpiece.
i have decided to write and plan out my own L4D3 game. i mean its gonna be a long while before i actually do anything with it but i have some of the details wrote down that i believe might be more in line with the heart of the L4D series than what ever it was that back 4 blood was trying to do. i have character names, their occupation before the green flu broke out, the weapons that would be in the game being the tier 1, 2 and even 3 weapons, throwables, medical supplies. i started writing the names of the levels so far and the general theme i think would be fitting. whether or not i do anything with this idea is to be seen later down the line, and its no doubt i would need a lot of help to get things going. the only hurdle i can see making it tough to work on is if valve tries to force me to quit which so long as i dont sell it for any amount of money i dont see any problem with developing a personal project to enjoy... right?

Like said it's a long ways off before I actually make my attempt at coding and modeling anything but I would like to share in case you or anyone else has feedback to help make it feel more in tune with the spirit of the originals. Also I will have to split this into 2 maybe even three comments due tk the length of it. My apologies. "In order to make a left 4 dead title it's imperative to first understand what it is that makes left for dead so amazing to begin with, for starters in the first game the characters all felt like they were legitimate people, ones who sold the idea that they have not only traveled together but were comfortable with each-other as teammates. In the second game this chemistry was seemingly absent and felt more like strangers forced to tolerate being around each-other. So natural flowing chemistry within reasons of the characters personalities should be a priority for small scale world building. Personality is also important, each character shouldn't be a cardboard cutout. They should feel alive and expressive to really sell the idea that the characters are legitimately there. For example a death metal band member isn't going to be your typical happy go lucky charmer, and your average hippy isn't going to be all doom and gloom. Characters should feel unique and each have personalities that fit who they are and that they all fit together like a puzzle, if your characters are bland and boring then the game WILL suffer as a result. next are your locations, world building doesn’t mean much if there's no world to explore, and it most certainly won't pull people in if the locations in the game are all boring or fail to feel unique and impressive meaning each location should serve a purpose, each location should feel like a rational decision for where your characters would willingly go in an effort to reach their ultimate goal. For example no survivors are going to scale a 200 floor skyscraper just to go back down in the next level to head to a new location. BUT if the skyscraper was a rescue station for an evacuation then it would be a logical and reasonable to see them go all that way just to leave later if it turns out to be a bust. Next up is zombies, the very thing that makes the game so fun, lots and LOTS of zombies. But while slicing thousands of undead could be entertaining we must also remember that the green flu is mutating daily and that until further notice there is no limit to what this virus can actually do. So specials are without a doubt likely as seen in the only two installments of the game but some new ones could likely crop up due to geographic location that may cause these ones to vary from what we see in L4D and L4D2. The specials need to not only make sense, but each serve a role to play in challenging survivors, as well as being able to best cooperate in preventing survivors from reaching safety. Back 4 Blood failed due to overpopulating the specials in the game, to many serving similar roles is bad design so while fewer is not typically better, too many can feel forced or become overwhelmingly bland meaning a balance needs to be reached that allows for fun gameplay with difficulty spikes every once in a while to remind players of the risks and to humble those that get cocky. And lastly there is the head of the difficulty itself being the director, a program that analyzes the player(s) performance and will add/subtract specials and hoards as needed. Players moving to quick need to be slowed down while not feeling overwhelmed and players moving to slow need a chance to gain ground without feeling to easy or artificial. The director needs to be able to decide which scenario is best to place at any given time and constantly keeping track of the player(s) progress and loadout. If a team is all kitted out with tier 3 weapons a tank or two could be a good challenge to burn ammo and take some damage. Below will be my own personal ideas for what I believe could make a good left 4 dead game. Ideas are not official and are not in any way endorsed by valve, these are mine alone and are explicitly here to try and formulate what i believe may be fun if turned into an official left 4 dead title Characters: Starting off we need characters that the players will be need to choose from. Again it's imperative that these characters all be unique and to some extent likeable. We don't want to see these characters die and we want to see them survive the green flu. So following will be four characters with a description of what their occupation was before the green flu struck. Ideally an animation similar to "meet the X" from team fortress 2 would be a great way to learn more about them and how they met and formed to be a group. Taylor: 25 year old caucasian female, market manager. Richard: 43 year old Caucasian male, construction worker. (reference to my late father who was actually 73) Johnathan: 31 year old latino/American male, member of a death metal band. Eric: 24 year old caucasian male, CEDA researcher.
(Continued) The following will be a description of the special infected that the players will have to contest with while dealing with the normal hoards of infected. Each special should serve a purpose to both be a viable threat to the group as well as being able to separate them if at all possible. Another key feature these specials must serve is to encourage teamwork in order to properly handle. Their looks, sounds, and even movement must also feel unique but also natural. Siren: the siren serves to summon a hoard if it detects the player(s), it will start its yell with a wind up similar to how an air raid siren works, the players will have a small window before it reaches its loudest point (which it will then hold for 2-3 seconds) which will alert the hoard to neutralize it. If successful it will die with a high pitched hissing sound like air leaking from a slit tube. However if the siren is successful a hoard will be summoned and the siren will attempt to flee and call another hoard. Note that there is a 2 minute cool down before it can attempt again. The siren has an abnormally enlarged throat which is what helps it to make such a load call. The siren has been seen with male and female variants, and is of average build with the glaring exception of its enlarged throat. It is rumored that these special infected are mutated from people who had exceptional singing abilities. Burster: the burster serves to both immobilize and stun the player(s), like the boomer the burster is a rather hefty infected that if ruptured near a player or player(s) the screen will be obstructed with a red slime and parasites and the player(s) will both be unable to move, shoot, or shove leaving them completely helpless to being attacked by other infected as they wipe the fluid from their faces. The duration lasts on average for five seconds and it can hit multiple people at a time. Though the slime itself deals no damage and doesn’t alert a hoard it is unwise to rupture a burster when its nearby. The burster has been noted to have female and male variants as well though they typically seem to be more on the male side, and they are easy to spot due to their rather large size and weight but also due to the fluid dripping from its body as it moves around. A burster unlike the boomer does not vomit on its foes but rather dashes to the survivors to attempt to melee the player(s) in which it will get ruptured by said player(s) if caution isn't a priority. Blocker: the blocker serves to typically block a path the player(s) need to go down, be it a hallway or a tunnel its main function is to be a massive wall of muscle and flesh that doesn’t go down easily. Though it is very aggressive and relentless it isn't as fast as say the tank is, nor can it hurl the player(s) very far similar to how the tank can, but for what it lacks in speed it does make up for in very high health and crippling damage however it requires the full attention of the player(s) to take down in any sense of time. The blocker has so far only been seen in male variants and is believed to have mutated from those who had muscular bodies to some degree and while its body resembles a giant slab of flesh its not to be taken lightly. Ripper: the ripper serves to take the place of the witch but without the function of the flashlight or being startled, the ripper has moderate health and speed but deals significant damage to the player(s) it can see. It has only been seen in male variants but is noticeable due to the large razor sharp claws it possesses on its hands. The ripper will wander around the map dragging its claws along the ground and can be heard well before encountering due to its maniacal cackle it has, once it has spotted a player the ripper only attacks that target until they are down before moving onto the next target. Dragger: the dragger serves to separate the party by as its name suggests dragging away a player. It moves at a quick speed when not dragging a player and will slow down slightly when it starts to drag someone away. While its health is fairly decent its speed is its most noticeable trait. Male and female variants have been spotted and survivors have noted that it tends to pant excessively as its moving and dragging people away. The dragger does deal damage as it takes a player away due to the fact it has sharp claws that it uses to pierce the players throat as it drags them, once the player is incapacitated it will start to slash away at the player until the player or it dies. It is believed that the dragger mutated from those that had some form of athletic capabilities like jogging or cross country fitness. It's worth noting that the draggers speed when encumbered with a player is roughly 3% faster still than other player characters meaning that if it gets too far away or makes its way around corners the player it has could likely die or at the very least be incapacitated. The following will be a list of weapons starting from tier one to tier three as well as consumables like throwables, health supplies, and others. Tier 1: MP9 = SMG Ruger M77 = bolt rifle (4 round iron sight) M16 = semi rifle (lower damage than the ruger) Winchester model 1200 = pump shotgun Glock G26 = pistol (can be duel wielded) Tier 2: Sig MPX = SMG M39 = semi rifle ACR = auto rifle Atchisson AA-12 = full auto shotgun Dessert eagle = pistol (no duel wield) Tier 3: Chainsaw M240 = LMG Flame thrower M320 = grenade launcher Melee: Bat = (mid speed, mid damage) Fire axe = (slow speed, highest damage) Frying pan = (fast speed, low damage) Sword = (fast speed, high damage) Golf club = (fast speed, low damage) Cane = (fast speed, mid damage) Sledge hammer = (slow speed, high damage) Throwables: (might expand) Molotov cocktails Pipe bombs Squealer (sound device to lure zombies) Health supplies: Defibrillator (revives dead players) First aid kit Morphine shot (used to instantly up a downed player and give a health boost) Pain pills (health boost that drains) Adrenaline shot (health and speed boost that drains) The following will be a list of the chapters and their levels. It will also have a brief description of said levels and what the ending events for each chapter will be as the players make their way to their end goal of making it to a military facility. (writing in progress) Chapter 1: Dead Reckoning (Chain Island Level) Level 1: town center Level 2: Train Station Level 3: The Bridge Level 4: Countryside Level 5: The Pier (must get 5 jerry cans and working radio for fish trawler) Chapter 2: The Port Level 1: Warehouse Level 2: Freight Hub (trucks, not trains again) Level 3: Cab Fare (starting area has many alarm armed taxi's) Level 4: Wrecking Yard (still more alarmed cars, but less than previous level) Level 5: Air Field (must buy time for heilo to refuel as endless waves of infected rush towards the chopper) Chapter 3: Undead Transit Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: Level 4: Level 5: Outpost Bravo (a military convoy will take you to Ceda but you must survive 10* minutes for them to arrive) Chapter 4: No Hope (will take place in a state that has a city named Hope) Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: Level 4: Level 5: Ceda Gates (power is on reserve and four generators powering the gate are damaged and need to be repaired) Possible end credits cinematic showing the outcome for the survivors? Additional notes: Anytime military or Ceda communicate with the survivors they will refer to them as Whiskey delta(s). I remember when the L4D games came out. I enjoyed them both. After playing L4D2, I was hoping they would come out with a part 3, but as you said, it's been so many years, and we're still waiting. I Teenager when they came out... here I am now 34 years old and still waiting for LEFT 4 DEAD 3. It's not polite to get us all excited over something and then abruptly stop making them. Really not nice. But I still love and respect the first two games. Always will.
5:12: Evangalo, Walker, Holly, Mom, Doc, Holly, Jim, Hoffman, Heng, Sharice, Tala (barely could remember Sharice) Back 4 Blood 2 is almost certainly coming, if it isn't TRS next game, then it will absolutely be the game that comes after it. The devs, more than once, have stated their passion and dream to make it into a franchise for years to come. You won't ever get Left 4 Dead 3 from it, but Back 4 Blood was a good game, it's just a different game and people need to learn to cope with that. Both L4D(2) and B4B are good games. If all goes well, Tencent will allow TRS to have a workshop in the next game, something which Warner Brothers absolutely made sure the first game didn't have, and that will be a huge help too. L4D3 was made, there's renditions of plantation made in Source 2, however as the rumour goes there were disagreements within the dev team for the direction of the game, what engine to build it on and the like. I doubt we will ever see a game that carries on the Left 4 Dead games, same with Portal and Half-life, at least not games that follow the traditional way they have made them (Alyx for an example being VR).
Crazy to think, I was 12, not even in my teens, and now I'm closing in on the start to my 30s. Considering I play L4D2 on PC, I stopped caring about L4D3, I'm not opposed to it ever officially coming out, but I'm more than content with the PC scene
OMG Valve I love you I truly do, you are amazing, your employs and CEO are amazing. Literally demi gods working in a company that creates true gold for there fans. I love everything they made, but please for the love of god and all that matters, take a math class. Learn to count to 3. We have 10 fingers reaching 3 is not hard. Go with me ONE, TWO AND .... COME ON YOU CAN DO IT. PLEASE I want to see the part3 for portal, half life, left 4 dead and team fortress. Please come on while some of us are still alive and able to move. I will even pay 100+ just make it come on.
The truth is there just isn't really any financial incentive for Valve to make games anymore. They get practically infinite money from steam. The only reason they'll eventually release HL3 is because of it's mythical status, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was cross-platform to maximise profits. As for franchises like Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Team Fortress, they simply aren't popular or appealing enough to newgens(kids) for it to be worth it for Valve. Until Valve finds a way to satisfy younger consumers without angering older fans then these franchises will only be kept alive by fans.
