While it’s admirable that you guys devote segments of your videos to explaining your decisions, I say STOP. You don’t have to explain yourselves or justify anything that you do. You have to understand that there are a lot of miserable people in the world who have made it their personal missions to try and make others as miserable as they are. DON’T give these people any of your energy, you don’t owe them or us anything. Live your lives, enjoy one another’s presence and be happy. That’s a part of what drew me to the channel in the first place, way back when. So yeah, please don’t feel the need to do that. No number of explanations are ever going to make the haters go away, so just screw em. We love, understand and support you guys and that’s all that matters. So yeah, have fun y’all ✌🏽😃✌🏽

I agree. Also on TikTok the viewers are coming across the videos much more randomly and seem to be not as inclined to stick around. You see the same old questions and comments on every single video. I think it’s a much different audience.

Agree lots of people are miserable and will always questions peoples decisions, so when they decided to do this. Even though I think is the most dumb decision ever I still think is a great life experience and they’ll remember those times once they get older and me as a viewer I love to see people living crazy experience. HOWEVER here’s where I’ll said something and I don’t care if people think I’m Jelous or miserable for saying thjs, but they going in their car to Mexico 🇲🇽 I think is just careless and very very dangerous. Someone who knows how bad it can get I feel the need to Scream and tell them NOOOooooooooooo!!! Yes to visit, not to driving and living in your car. The reason why I said this is because in a way I care for them and any Mexican living in Mexico will tell them the same thing. Take an airplane and visit our country, but please don’t drive.
@miss0petersburg
@miss0petersburg Год назад
Even thought I agree with most of what you say, some people actually just want to learn. Even though there will always be haters, you can’t base your decisions solely on them, otherwise that’s how they get control. Small details matter for those who are in similar circumstances and need to see what others do in those situations. Also While they are free to make their decisions the way it’s fits their life…This is their business, this is how they make their income, based on the views and participation (even from the haters) so yes, input from those who help make your dream come true isn’t the worst thing. Anyways, I think they’ll learn who is a hater or not as they go… But thank you for such supportive message…!

Thank you for keeping it real! Shit happens and a lot of times you have no way to predict what may go sideways, so there is no shame in deviating from the original plan. You guys are troopers and I'm having lots of fun watching these videos. I don't know who is giving y'all hate but they are not appreciating what I said: you're keeping it real. Also, you never said you were doing this as a homeless life experiment, so people are just making assumptions. You keep doing what you do, and most importantly, have fun! 😄

Y'all are near one of the most scenic drives in Oregon! Head east on 84 from Portland, get off at Corbett and drive the scenic highway 30 to Multnomah Falls. (do it during the week, and as early in the day as you can, it gets super crowded in summer) Go out to Hood River: amazing local fruit, breweries, views of Mt Hood and Mt Adams, and great hiking all up and down the Columbia River gorge!

I don't know if it would be any easier than Planet Fitness, but I know some people use Anytime Fitness for showers. They also have Canadian memberships, so you might have an easier time signing up. Also, I've found that some truck stops have showers you can use. Thanks for the great content! I love that y'all are stopping to chat with people along the way. You guys are on a road trip but your airb&bs are farther apart. You're "napping" in your car in between driving and you "snacking" but making it on a portable stove. Idk I don't see how someone could say this is glorifying houselessness. It's extreme road tripping!

I grew up spending summers RVing with my maternal grandparents. (My dad was an Army Reservist, so his vacation time was spent at Annual Training.). We would usually boondock/dry camp for a few days and then go to a campground with hookups (electricity/water/sewer or dump station) for a couple of days. The campground always had shower facilities. This is not particularly different. Although, L&L aren't towing a Datsun behind their "motor home," so they have to do their grocery shopping before they park. :)

Hahaha yes the Datsun comment is accurate. Dinner plans must be made in advance.

This was my thought exactly!! Road tripping is far from a new thing?? Why is this being equated to glorifying homelessness? It's travel without a plane, so it's going to take a year to complete. And they wanted to make their car as liveable as possible to make it happen.

As a well seasoned American traveler. I’ve been watching your channel for years. Car camping is a recreational activity. Car living is just a result of homelessness in America. My experience is mostly West Coast/Hawaii/California. I KNOW your not glorifying homelessness but the general public who does not know your channel may just assume your homeless. If they don’t watch your channel they also will not know your just altering your travel -post covid /before kids. Police are just wired to look out for homelessness in cars and the problem has been amplified in recent years. Have you watched Itchy Boots on You Tube? She’s doing the opposite direction of you alone on a motorcycle. Have fun, be safe!!!

I've been enjoying your journey. I'm planning on living in a vehicle later this year. I initially wanted a Prius (which could happen if I find a good deal), but lately I've been thinking of getting a minivan. My dad and brother don't really understand why I want to do this completely. They especially didn't understand why I wanted a Prius because it's so small. Your videos prove that there's enough space since you are two people in a Prius. My brother wants to travel with me, but he wants a big RV. That partially defeats what I wanted a smaller vehicle for (the stealth and gas mileage). I want to be able to park almost anywhere, but if I have an RV following me, there's less options. I also want to travel solo so I can pick everything I do, but my dad and brother are scared I'll have something bad happen to me on the road. Anyways, your videos are very enjoyable and sometimes make me learn something new. Thanks for the series!
@LeahandLevi

This is so cool! I honestly think a minivan would be a lot of space for chilling inside. It’s a slippery slope to a really big vehicle and as long as it’s summer you can just live outside!

Before buying in Colorado, I Airbnb-ed & stayed in short term rentals & hotels/cabins for a year (it took that long to buy a little abode!)... I lived *from my car* not in it during that time frame. Packing & unpacking & repacking is tiring. I was toting my elderly chocolate Lab along with me at the time too... Guys, if all the negative comments are on "tick-tock" the people watching your tick-tock posts probably don't know you guys👆. Whereas here on you tube we have been following you guys for years! We know your ethics and what your channel stands for! Ie. Your environmental ethos and lowering your carbon footprint etc. We get your car-travel idea! Just keep going! You guys are great!👌 🤗 Maybe don't do tick-tock, especially if it doesn't give you good returns! Bye the way, because those people in the two cars where traveling at that time of night, they probably got out to stretch their legs, get fresh air, and drink something etc. To take a break and keep themselves awake while driving at night!!!! . NOT to admire the view (that's what I do on long haul drives in the night! Have you guys never driven long haul at night?). Also one other thing! Guys, every vlog you have "issues" and every volg I write "the you tuber Nikki Delventhal has a solution." Eg you could use the showers/baths at the truck stops, when you aren't at a campsite. That's what the you tuber " Nickki Delventhal" uses and she showers/baths most days.. That's her "on the road principle.. Keep up personal hygiene." She budgets for that (see her budget on the road video). Almost every vlog you have had since on the road I comment that you should watch her videos... Become she 99.9% of the time has the solution to your problems. She has been living in her prius on the road in the US for over 3 years now, so her experience is a great source of valuable information! I can't believe you guys didn't binge watch loads of her videos before you built, bought stuff and left for your road trip.. It would have saved so many of your logistical issues and "irritations." I mentioned her in your first video where you said you were buying a prius to go on a road trip! You did finally mention her in one vlog.. But in all your vlogs from building out the car, setting up the car, traveling so far etc you obviously did not take the time to watch her channel and learn from her... Because she has the solution to 99.9% of your issues! It's a shame... It would make your trip more enjoyable for you guys 🙂and you wouldn't have an "irritation" to post and rant/complain about in every vlog!🤣 Cross fingers🤞 you are able to sort some of your irritations out! Good luck 🍀

I’m enjoying the journey, and I’m glad you guys are ignoring most of those negative comments. Misery loves company and “cancel culture” can be incredibly petty and hypocritical. Sure, sometimes it’s warranted, but blame and shame and moral superiority are always part of the game. Yes, it’s good to mindful and if your privilege, but choosing this experience for your lives isn’t “tone deaf” just because others don’t have the luxury of such a choice. If we’re going by that logic then I guess no one should camp in tents either, because there are homeless people in the world who have no choice but to sleep in them.

I'm not surprised by your Planet Fitness experience at all. A lot of facilities and infrastructure here have policies and systems in place to prevent unhoused people from having access and/or to criminalize homelessness. One thing that unhoused people have shared with me during outreach was also that sleep deprivation is an ongoing and rampant issue among the unhoused. Sleeping in cars/under bridges/out in the open can be so noisy and lack a sense of security.

I think people saying comments about glorifying homelessness and doubting how long you will last are very likely not people who actually follow the channel and definitely don’t actually listen when you two speak. You both said from the start the reasons for using your car and your plans to stay in houses at points along the trip for work and for the vacation feel. And Leah brings up conversation around privilege in a lot of videos. I think more often since this new endeavour started (since you first told us you would live in your car to road trip). It is an unfortunate truth that some people have no choice but to live in their vehicles because they can’t afford any other kind of personal shelter. But I don’t feel the two of you are saying that that’s your situation. You have said before that you are fortunate to be able to do this and sleeping in the car just extends your fortune to be able to do more on your working vacation. I’m loving the series so far. And hope you two continue to have safe travels

I cant wait to do something like this with my boyfriend! I've been showing him all of your videos (he's Canadian from BC as well - I'm American); we wanted to go overseas but since that's probably not the best right now I've been nudging him to go on a road trip even if it's not living in a car ha

I completely agree that you guys are not “glorifying homelessness”. It’s very validating to see you guys vacation without it being the most glamours experience possible. I would love to be able to afford to travel in a car, of which I can’t even afford at the moment. And most importantly.. nobody chooses homelessness so I think brining some light to that kind of experience to help encourage people would not be an evil thing?? For someone who has a car but cannot afford both a car and a place to stay I think they could get great info from this journey.

This is an amazing experience that you won't always have the opportunity to have, enjoy it - ANY WAY YOU WANT!!! the haters are always gonna find something nasty to say. You guys are awesome and I look forward to all your videos....it's just a shame that the yellow couch couldn't fit in the prius!!

These videos are great! Quick Planet Fitness observation - I think (99% sure) you can get a membership in Canada that can be used all over the world. I had one in Vancouver and was told if I travel elsewhere I could use it. I wonder if you could get one on the Canadian website. Unless things have changed. Though maybe the YMCA or look into local community centre drop in as you need. Good you get an airbnb to treat yourself to a reliable work "office" every now and again! Happy travels :)

Are you guys going down the coast highway through california? If so you’ll probably drive through my hometown of Morro Bay! It’s the one with the giant rock lol. If you do, Shine Cafe in morro bay has some delicious vegan food, and a quick detour into Los osos you can go to my fav Mexican place ever La Casita 🤤 if you drive through San Luis Obispo on a Thursday night, it has the states best farmers market - most of downtown shuts down for it

I think of it as a way for you to TRAVEL and explore and discover the United States. I enjoy your travels and your interactions with each other. You look like a fun couple and both don't seem to get really stressed out. I wish I could have started my minivan camping/traveling when I was closer to your age! I am now waiting to have less responsibilities of my aging parents so I can travel outside of Florida. But in the meantime, it's camping at State Parks and getting used to experience of living out of my "no build" build Toyota Sienna. I look forward to watching your USA adventures. Also, have you tried Anytime Fitness? I do have Planet Fitness and love it. I empathize with you frustrations.

Your intentions have been clear from the start that you're using to car to afford to travel longer/farther/cheaper, not to "experiment living in your car". LOL people are so dumb. Also, you're absolutely right that the type of travel you're doing requires a stay in real lodging from time to time (also for work purposes). What you're doing is challenging enough as it is, no one would expect you to do it 100% of the time. Even thru-hikers stay in hotels/with locals every week or two to bathe and reset. Just because you CAN sleep in your car every night doesn't mean you HAVE to. Do what you want. We love that for you. Your morning cafe stops are so nice! One day, far in future, when you're home having home-brewed coffee, you'll remember your cafe stops fondly ❤️ Enjoy this season and experience!

Please keep providing Levi and Leah‘s Adventures On the Road. So many unhappy people it seems today want to sit in judgment of someone else’s choices in some way, and it’s actually quite disturbing. I mean, I have not once thought that you guys were glorifying houselessness or that you were somehow waving your privilege in our faces or anything like that. I have never had to live in a car or been homeless/houseless in anyway, but I also know that I see this is infotainment. I eagerly await the weekly post like I used to wait on my favorite weekly TV shows back in the day (Gen Xer here). I just want to see what you guys are going to have to endure on this trip and see how you figure out how to make it work. And for the record, I find that TikTok is the lowest we have descended when it comes to the usefulness of social media. I wouldn’t dignify the comments of most people on TikTok. It’s a haven for mindless sheep.😏

U can try to ask to do a prepay annual membership at Anytime Fitness….I know at some local gyms it doesn’t matter as long as u pay in full. Not sure if that can work but it’s worth the try to get a shower

Truck stops have showers you can pay to use. Too bad the gym membership didn’t work out cuz then you could also work out after a long day of driving or on bad weather days.

Not gonna lie. I was among those who thought you might not make it a year haha. But I think it's fantastic that you're having so much fun so far. Always love your content so thanks for sharing! Also, for the gym thing...not sure how pricing is in the US but try Anytime Fitness. It is more expensive but they have tons of locations and of course it's 24 hours. They usually have really nice showers and good quality equipment too. Enjoy!

You guys are AMAZING!!! Fellow Canadian (from Ottawa) living in the UK. About to embark on my first car camping experience - in three days. Going to tackle the NC500 in Scotland. Hotel prices were ridiculous. You guys were an inspiration for sure for me!! I have a hybrid Mercedes E class - and I am already working in a place halfway to Scotland. So saving fuel that way. Also hoping to do it most environmentally friendly . You are an inspiration for that for sure. I’m vegan - and that is a challenge in Scotland 😂 I wish you all the best. Forget the haters. You have WAY more people (like me) that are inspired by you x

Hi. Many things to say, firstly love to see a notification from your channel. Your videos are very enjoyable to watch. Congratulations on everything you've been doing in the past and looking forward to your epic trip. Just a question I hope you can help me out. How much was your beautiful car, where abouts did you buy it from and the year of the car. I've been living in Whistler for a month now and will be moving to Squamish soon and would love to own a Prius. Much love and safe fun travels!!

I’m not sure if cash app will work for you guys. Planet fitness wants a checking account not credit card, at least that’s how it is near me. And cash app give you a routing number. But that’s what I do for my membership. I just signed up online on the website. I have black card and can go to all planet fitness. I picked a random “ home gym “ and just went for it. The 1 dollar sign up thing. Where is a dollar down for the first two weeks. Another thing I do when I travel is just sign up for day pass or free trail passes. So I can still workout. Most gyms have a 1 - 7 day trail pass and all they want is a email or phone number.
