Right after I started my POD etsy shop, after 24 hours, etsy desided to permanently suspend my account for no reason, I had only 2 products listed, and when i try to email them about the reason they don't respond, any solutions that you might recommend for me in this situation?

Alek, I was about to start uploading the designs to mockups using the process you explained through Photoshop and Figma. I wrote down everything step by step, BUT, I just found a platform called MY DESIGNS that allows you to do that process in a very simple way and many other things too. Would you be so kind to check it out and if possible, give us your point of view on MY DESIGNS. I'm going to start watching their tutorial videos (which are very good) to evaluate if I should use this platform instead, and actually, I'm almost certain that I'll upload everything there. I love your videos! Thank you very much! 🩷🩷🩷

In the last few months I've been steadily going through RU-vid looking at this kind of content - PoD, Amazon KDP, Shopify, etc.. and I can say without a doubt yours is some of the best, most down to earth and usable content I've come across in all my 'searching'. I need to get some kinda side business going and it's a big job sorting all the wheat from the chaff, especially on RU-vid. I know there are plenty of creators who've been successful in these various pursuits, but as far as I'm concerned, you are very near the top of the list. The real world examples and instructions you provide in your content is useful, realistic and understandable. There's no getting around the fact that ANY idea like this is gonna take some work and some input and that success probably isn't gonna come overnight - even though in some cases it seems like it does! - but I'm sticking with you Alek! I hope you keep the great content coming! Lik'd and Sub'd for sure!

The problem with the waiting game is, Etsy listings will cost a lot especially if you have 100's of listings. So prepare to spend money and time without making any money to cover your Etsy listing bills and any other third-party bills you may have to create your items. Then again, it all reflects on the saying "You need to spend money to make money". Good for you Alek, you got over the hump.

It doesn't take a huge number of designs to get enough to cover the listing costs.

This whole make 1000 listings thing is the most absurd feature of Etsy. And their algorithm isn’t just satisfied with that. They want you to continually add listings infinitely after that. Otherwise they will pull you from the search results. This seriously makes me reconsider using Etsy at all. Particularly if I am going to be bringing in much of my own traffic anyway from social media.
@UltraVioletMilk
@UltraVioletMilk Год назад
Well said. And there's no guarantee at all 1000 listings is going to make you any decent money. Since Etsy at this point is not providing any organic traffic and is just functioning as a hosting site, we might as well go host our own websites lol
@thesupportcrew1

@UltraVioletMilk for me, it's not either/or, but both, and many more marketplaces too. More work to maintain for sure, but more lines in the water means more chances to catch more fish.
@automaton111
@automaton111 Год назад
@@thesupportcrew1 Possibly. But when starting out, there is the question of where to start and where to put most of your focus. I was considering starting with Etsy and then moving to Shopify and then to other third-party platforms. Now I may just start with Shopify and then eventually to third-party platforms. But in the end the main focus needs to be on your own store, and building a brand. Not just selling a product in somebody else’s flea market.
@UltraVioletMilk

Looking just at that mug shop it's so crazy and absurd, I am completely surprised and mindblown how this manage to exist, work for some people and how stupid some people are when it comes to shopping. WHY?! Because a simple fact that every town even village in a world have a crafts and print shop or shop of any kind that carry services such as making custom shirts, mugs or whatever. Or is close by to your place that you don't have to travel too much anyway. So when I see someone buy blindly these cheap nonsense things online it's like I am in a different world, it's really absurd. In my town or any I visited all around the world on my travels ever since I know for myself there been at least 50 shops in one place that I visited and they do quality prints so as not being expensive at all. You can take your own mug or shirt or whatever also they provide one for you of your choosing and you get it there and then, no waiting for mail and risk of losing mail or breaking your mug since often things are mailed with zero protection ...

Hey Alek, I have a suggestion for a video. Since Etsy isn't available in some countries, could you please make a video on how to sell print on demand products on ebay, how much can we make and is it possible to sell and earn minimum $5k on ebay ? The reason I chose eBay is because it's free to start, unlike amazon, where you can create an individual free account, but it will charge you $39.99 1st month. Also, recommend some other free ways as well. I want to list my designs on multiple websites. I hope you will see this comment and do something. I lost my motivation because Etsy isn't available country It would mean a lot if you could do a video ❤ Edit: Merch by amazon also not available. And my country is srilanka 😅

There's ONE thing to take into consideration: Etsy decides who will appear and who will disappear to the customers. Most of the time you need to pay to appear. It would be great if we just follow a formula (your video is great don't get me wrong, but there's more than "follow the leaders" strategy

Especially, you can't upload your own mockup photos, and you can't delete/hide their default mockup photos(those photos are usually awful). Also, I'm not sure if they are following individual shops' return/cancelation policies. Which means you can't control it. It's very new... Thanks for keeping the instructions simple and clear. For the past few years I have focused on getting the industrial hemp market started in New York. Now we seek to create sales models to help community people make some money. Let me know if this interests you. My goal is for most people to get paid and thus inspire the economy we prefer.

Great video thank you! I’d love a video on automating uploading, syncing between Etsy and Shopify listings, and automating keyword analysis.

Thank you for your realistic expectations. Just like with anything else. Success takes time. Your examples of real timeliness and expectations is refreshing over the ones acting like this type of business is an overnight success. Love your channel. Thank you for sharing you knowledge and experience. I always love your examples.

We really need a market that isn't Etsy, but is geared toward POD and custom design.

Hi Alek. Thank You very much for Your great content. I've been watching your videos and it's my 2nd month on Etsy (no sales yet) . I'm doing my masters of engineering here in Finland. I've decided I'll make it through POD, no matter what. One question: will it hurt my apparel shop if I would add f.ex. mugs to my shop? Or should I set up another shop for mugs etc.?

I was inspired by Greg Gottried's POD (RU-vidr) path who swears by doing POD with passive sites like Redbubble and Merch by Amazon, however, I have no evidence that his system has potential, just his word. I love going that route because I don't have to do my own advertising, and I believe knowing how to advertise online effectively is 90% of the strategy to success.

Why is no one talking about hosting a non shopify website for $10 a month for thousands of items and just using google merchant product feeds for free?

It looks like you drove most of the traffic to your shop vs Etsy driven traffic. If I'm right, do you mind sharing how you drove traffic to your Etsy page?

In the long run it's getting harder and harder to make $ on Etsy since everyone copies others and can under cut. This happens across the board ins jewelry clothes and more

I am profoundly motivated by your videos, so much so that I opened my own print on demand shop. I have since worked hard to source and create attractive product photos, remove backgrounds, and locate suitable mockups for my t-shirts, however, due to my products being focused on the 4th of July, I have not had much opportunity to promote my shop on Etsy. Could you please make a video which outlines the most successful strategies for driving traffic to Etsy shops? I would be immensely grateful

@@jedrek0129 I haven't sold anything on Etsy because they suspended my account three times, across three different accounts. Their customer support was unhelpful, so I decided to explore other opportunities

I would like to see a break down of gross to net and how you keep the tax man away. LLC, DBA, ect. I get that each state has differing sales tax but federal income tax can be up to 25% depending on strategy. What is yours?

This is really really good, thank you. I'm looking at opening up my Etsy shop again. Hopefully I can do it better this time. I was making good sales but with movie related image and I want to go totally with my own creations this time... well based on well known themes I guess.
