I feel like I'm sitting in a boat. I'm thinking about getting a Yaris. Should I get the liftback rather than the one with the trunk? Also, what is it like on the highway? Thanks.

@@love.one.another Liftback is easier to park since there is less rear end overhang and the car ends a few inches after the rear windshield. Toyota Yaris is fine on the highway as long as you are happy to stick to the slow lane but its not the ideal motorway cruiser.

The ordinary Yaris (the hatchback) is a full-on Toyota though.. it's the latest 'Yaris sedan' (nee: Scion iA, then Toyota Yaris iA after the Scion brand got the axe) that is actually a Mazda 2 in disguise. I would honestly love to see both the hatchback and sedan under the TNGA platform (same treatment done with the new Camry, Avalon, Corolla, and RAV4, which are all awesome new vehicles from the brand) for the next Yaris, and Mazda to bring back the 2 here in North America. Considering how Mazda is one of the most underrated automotive industries that are small, they deserve a lot more attention than you think.

Hi Scotty. About Hyundai, I gotta tell You my experiance. Long time ago I bought 5 years old Elantra 2002, and had it for two yerars. Zerro problems, just oil changes. Than I bought a newer one, 2 jears old and had it for 8 years, put 90.00 miles on it. Everything i've done was timing belt change (thanks for your video ), one brake pads change and one spark plug changes. And of course regular oil changes. Than in 2016 I've purchased a new Hyundai i20, just fill it up with gasoline and drive. My wife bought a new Hyundai i20 in 2010, had it for six years and absolutly nothing went wrong, nut even a light bulb. Now she is driving Hyundai i10 for 2 years, nothing wrong either. Same expirience got my father, who is also driving Hyundais for 10 years now. Yeah, they are a litle bit chip made, but about a Toyota Yaris first models, they where horific too. So, if You ask me, Hyundai is an excellent car maker.

As a previous Kia optima owner (2008) , my experience with Kia and Hyundai was pretty good. I got the optima back in 08 as the original owner (This is the time frame when Kia and Hyundai's were built to be cheap) and while it was cheap , It was a reliable car (I got rid of it in 2014 with about 284k and replaced it with with one of my current dailys , a 2015 Lexus es). Modern Kia's and Hyundai's have improved quality wise (I sat in the newer optima and sorento and had to keep remind myself that this was Korean and not German). I personally wouldn't mind buying another Korean car (I'm actually considering tye g70 in the near future).

Starts, runs, drives, looks, perfectly fine. Maintenance dude...ya gotta do it. The Toys are doing 200-300k with almost no maintenance from most people though. Drive it til you break something. There are a lot of people who can make any car a piece of crap in no time.

Yep. With the help of misinformation like Scotty spreads, Saab prices have plummeted. Right now with Saab's you can get more good car for your $, than with perhaps any other car. I would scoop up dozens of them right now if I had the $ and room. They aren't that hard to work on, parts are readily available and not expensive, and there's lots of info out there to repair them. In fact the dealer repair Info (WIS) is free on the net. Scotty is just entertainment, and focuses his material on getting lots of views.

The 4-door Yaris is the rebadged Mazda 2. I believe these are being manufactured in the Mexico City area. The Yaris 3&5 door models are from Japan and still have the venerable little 1.5 workhorse 1NZ-FE. To go even deeper into Toyota Yaris folklore, keep in mind that the 3&5 door models in Japan were called the Vitz and the 4-door produced in Japan was the Belta. Different cars but still same powerplant/transmission. They killed the rice-burner 4-door US sold sedan in lieu of a joint venture with Mazda in MX but still manufacture a different 4-door in Japan & Asia (Vios). My Japanses manufactured 4-door Yaris S 5-speed is a very well made car.

In the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency assumes the typical car is driven 15,000 miles per year. According to the New York Times, in the 1960s and 1970s, the typical car reached its end of life around 100,000 miles, but due to manufacturing improvements such as tighter tolerances and better anti-corrosion coatings, in the 2000s the typical car lasts closer to 200,000 miles.[4]

My mom used to own a 2008 Mazda 3 I sport Sedan in black with the 4 speed auto and she put about 120,000 miles. Something went bad on it with the tires or alignment and never was the same after that. We ended up getting a 2007 Kia Sportage EX V6 in black and had the luxury package but didn’t have heated seats. Bought that used on 80,000miles with drivetime in 08/13. Put about 70,000 miles and went through a couple of batteries and engine replacements and other things that went out on it and we got rid of it at 151,000 miles and replaced it with a 2017 Ford Focus SEL Sedan in Oxford white and it’s fully loaded with out the cold weather package. It was made 08/17 so no recall on the vehicle at all so far. And I own a 2010 Camry LE 2.5L 6A. Has 176,000 miles and only maintenance for every 5,000 miles. And it’s in super white color. The Camry was bought used in October of 2011 and been in my family for 7 years and had 35,000 miles then. The focus we bought new with 14 miles on the odometer at the ford dealership and got a great deal and paid 17k for it and was priced nearly at 23,000$.
