I think the main point here, is that there is only a select few DJs that will take the time to master these features, if you keep doing the same things with new controllers, then, they will basically sound the same. I hate stating the obvious. LOL
And those select few are the ones who should get the Rane Four! Personally, if I wasn't gonna make the most out of the stems, I'd go for something less expensive haha
The way it looks I think it’s between the pioneer flx 10 & prime 4+ since they are around the same price range. The pioneer flx 10 works with both serato & rekordbox so more versatility.
I love the Rane 4.... I hate Serato, I miss rekordbox... its crazy when you first start everyone says serato but having used both rekordbox is superior
I mean, I can just set STEMs to one of my lesser used pad modes on my NS4FX and I have those same features. Albeit this occupies cue and sample space and is not its own dedicated section.
@CasmurMusic I also.spin on Rane 1, and it's also a really good unit, but I don't like the cue button on it. My friend is also an open format DJ, and he loves the Flx10.
I did, and it sounded okay on my end! Though I haven't really compared controller microphones to each other. What's the issue with the mic on your end?
Hmmm, that's really odd as it should boot up the moment you plug them into each other. Try downloading the drivers or getting the latest update of Serato DJ Pro for it. As for the Windows version, check the Serato website for minimum requirements :)
None at all! It's been wonderful! Platter occasionally acted up when it got humid (Philippines, so couldn't really do anything there), but its been perfect otherwise
FLX10 is awesome. Can't compare, but serato and rekordbox work with it. Being able to do effects to a single stem is extremely nice. And most rekordbox features are free, unlike serato (at least from what I've heard)
Serato's stems don't cost anything (except for some extra space on your laptop). I have to say I don't like Rekordbox's stems though; they're pretty rough compared to Serato's.
@@djcarlo they are pretty hit and miss. Flx10 definitely needs some updates along with rekordbox for this feature. Thankfully it can get better. Hopefully it does. It has made djing a lot more "on the fly" which I appreciate but also a lot harder (but still more fun). Also, I've been trying to figure djing out myself lately, but your videos are a great help to supplement that. I really appreciate the work you do
I have the Rane four and i have to say I Love it!!!! Is way different from the other controller it just takes it to the next level. Rane really nailed it on the FX especially when you split the track and use the scale down and riser wow!! It sounds amazing! There's more FX that sounds really good not even pioneer has them. I'm more creative mixing on the Rane four. Don't need to subscribe to record pool websites i can make my own remixes with this controller.
@@djcarlo yeah your right! There’s tons of record pool music that has helped me alot when I started djing. Not only that but record pool is what made me jump into mobile djing. 👍 also want to say I love seeing your RU-vid videos! I love your mixes 🙌
Now I'm all for quality but other controllers like the Roland dj808 is powerful... Stem control? You get that in other controllers even if you have to map it..
Problem with the jogs, not response at the scratch, I saw a few comments about it, now I’m worry about it, but I try at store FLX 10 that is incredible but I really like Rane Four the most
Oh! Well, on my end, there are a couple of times the jogwheels have gotten sticky, but thats happened to all my other overused controllers. Otherwise, it's still in extremely good condition!
Stems for standalones *just* got released, and they're not great get at the moment, so making this a standalone would've made this pretty much a brick 😅
@@BarelyLegitBeats bro you clearly a rane fan boy flx 10 is an amazing controller you say biuld quality those screens on the platters look crap compared to ones on the flx 10 also the sound quaity is very good
Rane Four does indeed crap all over the FLX10. You don't even need a full review to tell the Rane Four is a better controller. Rane Four also has the best feeling static platters I have used. I use my Rane Four with the Pioneer SP1 to take it to the next level.
Best to check Serato's website for the exact RAM they recommend for Stems. They usually update it based on the build. Technically, any controller works with any computer, as long as you have the proper drivers and software. You'll need to check which software works with your controller to make sure it works, and in this case, yes Serato is the program of choice for the Performer. Serato isn't "hardwired" into the Performer, but it is the program that Rane worked with the most to make sure the Performer worked well. So it's functions are ideal for use with Serato
You'll need a DVS plug in for your program for it to recognize the mixer set up. There are a few videos out there too showcasing how to set those up, and exactly what you'll need in your software to activate the hardware. What software are you using?
With the FLX10, Pioneer gave their Stems answer. However, ill need to point out that the Rane Four is perfect for Serato, while the FLX10 is better suited for Rekordbox
Real talk. I have the Rane 4 and I love it, but there's not a day that goes by where I question the purchase because IMO Rekordbox is way better on every level.
That's one thing I never fully got to test on the Rane Four. It does have an echo feature though, so it can turn into an instant karaoke machine. What didn't you like about the mic?
