The problem is, the price. Now, I've just seen the Pro RRP at £307. For £5 more, I can get a 256GB Steam Deck, which is infinitely more powerful, and capable of emulating Xbox 360 and PS3 games, as well as playing PC games, and acting as a portable PC. How do you justify buying that, when it's in the same price bracket as the Steam Deck? Once these retro systems breach a certain price point, I keep wondering, why wouldn't I just buy a Steam Deck? If I can afford one of those, then I can afford that. At that point, I don't think that they are viable.

I have to say that's a ridiculous price for the Pro, you should be able to find it for just over £200

Pro is 199$ usd rn 😂😂😂 I mean yeah can get a steam deck used for around 250-300 so why not

@@ymhighlights3556 You can get a brand new 256GB Steam Deck for £350. Put a 1TB Micro SD Card in it, and you have the best handheld system on the market for emulation currently.

Why oh why do people buy a 4.7 inch device, and use aspect ratio on it, 4 x 3, really annoys me, if you have stretch built into the emulator, use it to your advantage. You actually are able to see enemies in the background, see other bikes / cars in front of you. See small writing is now readable. See my point, use the screen provided. You know it makes sense. I have RP3+ and a Odin 2 Pro, full screened, so much better enjoyment.

While I agree that a 4.7” screen isn’t great for 4:3 systems, I don’t like stretching games either and never for 8/16 bit systems. We all have different tastes and choices.

@@modestyblaise4167 - Okay at least use bezels, which fill in the gaps, thus improving the look. Thats why I use RetroX, which has bezels for all games 4 x 3 if I so wish.

@@KingPepper41 yes you can, it’s all about choice and opinion. Some people like bezels, others don’t. Personally I like an actual 4:3 screen or integer scaling on an OLED screen where blacks are actually black with absolutely no light.
