As a former figure skater, I'd say you are a natural and should keep doing it. You advanced really quickly. The big difference is the movement that the ice gives you and you have to land with a soft leg versus gymnastics where you're trying to stop your motion abruptly.

Olivia is the perfect partner for Nile . You can see the mutual respect is in abundance. I love the fact that he’s gone straight into the gym to show the guys what he’s been doing and them getting involved by trying the jumps with him . This challenge will be so good for Nile . You just know he’s going to put 110% into it and how much he will enjoy that feeling of competing again . This is going to be one of those special times in his life with lots of great memories to be made and we all get to go on the journey with him. GO NILE !! 🤩🥳⛸👏👍🏽🦋🎉❤

Hi Nile I have watched your videos for over 3 years now and although obviously don't know you personally, I saw the light go out of your eyes when you had to retire. I watched you come onto the rink in the studio and you was beaming. Your glow was back and the smile you have us just as brilliant; if not as better as Joey Essex lol. I told my mum to look out for you. She said Your friend Nile is fantastic. I also said to her that in was going to leave a message because even though you don't know me, i am Proud of you. It is funny watching your videos and snippets of your life we feel we know you just a little bit. Also i was the same to @AbigailEllard in the comments. i cried again with how proud i am of you. I'm so glad we've gotten to know Olivia through this partnership, she is pure joy to watch and gets on so well with the squad! Her training footage with Nile is a mix of beautiful, graceful skating and then a mess of long limbs and laugh-screaming.

Just watched week 1. It was fantastic. Just wanna encourage nile so much, you're doing so well. Some things that impressed me from the practice to the performance were: more relaxed shoulders and more genuine emotion. Much of the quality of dancing comes from the genuine emotion. I imagine that at the olympics, all you have to do is: a pasted-on smile that you give to the judges before you start a skill (i could be wrong). but whatever story you're telling with dancing, you have to allow yourself to actually feel it. that makes the difference between a good dancer and a great dancer. A note, when you're concentrating, no matter how much you pretend to relax with the rest of your body, the nervousness will show in your hands. This will come with time, but pay attention to relaxing your hands so that the lines of your arms go all the way to the tips of your fingers. you have so much going for you with your gymnastics background and your persevering personality. Can't wait to see how you grow as an artist. And i'm wondering, if at some point you may consider learning some ballroom/latin dancing? If you want to understand the principles of partnering, I know no better way.

This will be the first time watching DOI for me, but well worth it! Not sure why I haven't followed it before, as I'm a big Strictly fan and used to skate a lot as a kid too (nothing competitive, just for fun in the winter like every other kid in Finland). You absolutely smashed it in the first episode, and you've got a great partner in Olivia!
