Do you all agree that vaseline gives a false sense of moisturizing and isn't great for your skin? Leave a comment and share how you feel about vaseline! Thanks for watching!
@크리스 What? Didn't know they have a hand cream. And I'm sorry the hand cream causes more dryness, but I'm not surprised. I hope my alternatives in the video help. I also made a newer video about 10 natural moisturizers. You can also watch that video and see if anything that I show works for you. Thanks for watching!
@@LivingSimple66 if you watch my video, I didn't call vaseline a moisturizer but quite the opposite. I recommended better and safer alternatives to vaseline. Thanks.
@@LivingSimple66 I provided my arguments and proofs in my video to why vaseline isn't the best and safest moisturizer. What did I say that you don't agree with?
Yes it’s a barrier layer on the skin. That’s PERFECT for wound healing. No it’s not a moisturiser but if you accept it for what it is, it’s great. When you use it you can FEEL that it doesn’t sink into the skin so I’d NEVER think of it as a moisturiser. For things like chaffing, a barrier on lips, over scabs and blisters. Vaseline triple distilled, so the toxin issues is not applicable. But im glad you said how bad America is. Luckily im in the UK. Olive oil and coconut oil block my pores so nope. I was SHOCKED that Caster oil is so thick and doesn’t block my pores.
My son has excema and we were told to never use vaseline because of clogging the pores and making symptoms worse. I remember growing up, my parents and grandparents lived on using vasoline for everything. Lips, body.. everything 🤣 It's so important to know what you put on and in your body. Thanks for showing proof and data to substantiate your conversation. No regulation can mean anything. A lot of drugs are not FDA approved.
Yes that was first thing I tried for my excema...and it made Def made worst....they just sell things for what they can bank on. I just learned recently that Noxzema was actually originally made for No Excema but it went thru their product testing and facial creams were so popular they just rebranded as facial cream. Smh
Shea butter is a great option because it is an occlusive, but also non comedogenic. I use shea butter on my face as a moisturizer in my evening skincare REGIMEN
The thing with petroleum jelly is it's amazing for preventing trans epidermal water loss- The process of which we lose water through our skin every night, The main purpose of a moisturizer is to prevent trans epidermal water loss, petroleum sits on top of your skin and holds in the water so that it's not super dry. Petroleum also doesn't clog pores, of course if you have oily skin any heavy moisturizer could potentially affect you negatively, but Vaseline is usually highly recommended for eczema. So if you put petroleum on your face or lips it's not going to immediately soak in and make it feel soft, (as most moisturizers do) it's mostly for putting it on at night time so that it acts as a barrier to hold in water. Dr. Dray did a great video on it. (Side note I'd do research on essential oils specifically the lemon oil in the tea tree balm, because lemon oil and citrusy oils tend to be irritating and can make your skin more sensitive to the sun) regardless, I enjoyed your video, keep up the good work!
Thank you for your comment. I have contact dermatitis so my skin is very sensitive and allergic to many products that may be ok to others but not to me. Vaseline is one of the many products that don't work on me but instead make my skin worse, so I don't use it. I understand many people swear by vaseline, but unfortunately it hasn't worked for me. I also try to avoid medications for eczema (steroid and prescription shampoo, etc.) because they are also very harsh on me instead of actually curing my eczema. Yeah... my skin is that sensitive! But no worries. As long as I stick with plant based products (like coconut oil, shea butter and black castor oil) my eczema won't flairup as often. I also use face products from the brand ACURE, plant based, vegetarian, and gluten free.
Right don't nobody want to talk about these essential oils these natural hair care companies are pouring all up in every product. Harsh ones too. Some of that stuff smells so strong of tea tree or peppermint I know it's not properly diluted.
I agree Vaseline, petroleum jelly are toxic, I learnt this as a child years ago and then from members of my family who are doctors. I was 😲 shocked when I see videos on RU-vid promoting vaseline and petroleum jelly 😏😒
Hello and thank you for watching my video! I did say it's a bit controversial or heated topic because many people sweat by vaseline and petroleum jelly, that's what they use all the time and was passed down from their parents. I hope my video can encourage people to do their own research on the ingredients of petroleum jelly and the possible harmful effects of the product. Thanks!
Really? I'm glad I'm not the only one saying this. Just because everybody uses it doesn't mean it's good for you. I just want people to be informed about the potential side effects of petroleum jelly.
Its is actually reallyy unlikely that someone has an allergy to vaseline, and when i say unlikely i really mean almost impossible, as vaseline just sits on top of the skin it is never absorbed, therefore it can not be pressent in the blood, therefore it cannot cause any type of disease.
Nope, poison ivy doesn’t enter the blood! But it still wrecks havoc in the skin! (I don’t know where i said otherwise in my previous comment). But to clarify Petrolatum doesn’t cause an allergic reaction, petrolatum is inert. It doesn’t interact. as i said before it is really unlikely to be allergic to petrolatum.
This person doesn’t understand biology …the skin IS the largest organ and first protective mechanism (other than energy but most won’t understand this either) therefore must be protected and cared for at all costs , why I use a calendula salve. The research is out there on this garbage Vaseline people still love using but people love to only research what they WANT TO find, not information that goes against their belief systems.
I really appreciate how thorough you are 🌟 you’ve got a great ability to convey information in an engaging and sensible way, without dragging things out or moving too slowly. Video was very practical and enjoyable, and I look forward to digging into your channel :D You’re awesome, Much Love! ~♥️🌞♥️~
Petroleum Jelly and Vaseline are two different product. Sure both are made of petroleum jelly, but Vaseline is refined and infused with other minerals. You can also buy with cocao butter, aloe, or Vit. E. Never use that generic bunk that you're holding. Always make sure you are buying the brand Vaseline. Tyey even have baby version so the most sensitive skin.
If you watched my video, I explained what petroleum jelly is and I gave a few reasons why people should reconsider using it. I personally cannot use it due to chronic eczema. So unfortunately I can't recommend it to others. Thanks.
I scrolled tiktok today and saw few ppl posted saying eos lip balm are good but I'm not sure if it's safe so.. I wanted ur recommendation bout this product to see if it's actually true/false ☺
I recently started using one. It's very good! Eos lip balm are 100% natural and doesn't have any harmful ingredients. I double checked the ingredient list and it's good! But just one caution - some people are sensitive to certain fragrances, whether it's artificial or natural. So i would look into the different flavors they offer. If you are allergic or sensitive to mint, don't get the mint flavor. If you are sensitive to honey or are vegan, don't get honey flavor.
@@NaturallyMonaLisa thnx so much 🥰could do a vid recommendation about love, beauty and planet shampoo, conditoner and body lotion? If not, u can still tell me in this comment section😁
First, go to the video description and copy and paste the list of 12 harmful ingredients. When you shop for skincare products, do your best to find products that don't have these ingredients. The more harmful ingredients you can avoid, the better and safer for your skin. Second, I believe Love Beauty and Planet is not 100% natural, but it's definitely better than many other brands. Every product has a percentage on the front that shows how natural it is. A lot of their products are vegan, and all their products don't have silicones, parabens, synthetic dyes, and pthalates. I think my only concern is some of their products have synthetic fragrance and can be strong for some people, and some of their products have preservatives that can be harsh. But otherwise than that, the brand is pretty good.
hi, I have dry&pale lips and I see ppl keep recommend vaseline but after I found ur vid I'm glad I didn't use it. But problem now is idk what lip balms brands I can use to avoid having chapped lips..
Great question. Check out Burt's bees, they are great!!! Naturistick are also great natural lip balms. I haven't tried art naturals lip balms yet but I heard they are great too (also 100% natural) You can purchase those brands on Amazon. You can also use shea butter and coconut oil to moisturize your lips too.
@@NaturallyMonaLisawow lots of great recommendations 🥰I'll try them but I also heard about sebamed & mentholatum lip balm brands, they have some natural ingredients but I'm not sure if it's worth to buy, could u tell me if they're good/bad products? ☺
First, I would go to my channel video list and watch my newer video on "10 best natural moisturisers" where I explain 12 harmful ingredients that I avoid when I buy personal care products and I recommend 10 natural moisturisers. You should copy and paste the list from that video, so when you shop you should look out for those 12 harmful ingredients. Second, I have reviewed the sebamed and mentholatum lip balms based on their ingredient lists, and this what I think. (you don't have to listen to me, haha! But it's what I think, my opinion) For sebamed lip balm, it has parfum in it, which is synthetic fragrance. I try to avoid this because fragrance can be irritating to people with eczema, and in America fragrances are not regulated so companies can use anything as a fragrance including toxic and cancerous stuff. Also, there's an ingredient called "Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane" in the lip balm, which is actually another name for "avobenzone' and it's a sunscreen ingredient. I try not to get this ingredient because it can be irritating too. But those are the only two bad ingredients in that brand. For mentholatum lip balm, I think it's way worse than sebamed lip balm. The list has so many bad stuff in it, such as dimethicone, mineral oil, petrolatum, and the sunscreen stuff octinoxate and octisalate. And also not everybody can tolerate menthol (it's pretty strong) so I rather not recommend anything with menthol in it. So I would say you are better off with the sebamed lip balm than menthol lip balm.
@@NaturallyMonaLisa Yep. I've tried those oils and others.. Every single one of them makes me break out badly with acne and rashes. Coconut oil flares up my eczema also. I started using Vaseline on the advice of my dermatologist. It's been a skin-saver. Trust me, I would love to just use an oil, but it doesn't work for me.
@@veggirl1964 Have you tried lotions and moisturizers that are Vegan, nontoxic and Cruelty free, such as ACURE, Pacifica, Alaffia, Attitude, 100% pure, and Dr Bronner?
@@NaturallyMonaLisa All those and many, many more. I just have bad skin reactions to topical treatments that contain plants. I also get rashes if I sit on the grass. I'll stick to eating plants.
@@veggirl1964 My last recommendation is to see an allergist and get several different tests to know exactly what you are allergic to. You can get a blood test, skin test and breathing test. You may even have an autoimmune disorder, so you can get tested for that too. You can't just avoid everything in life and live a miserable life. If you know exactly what fruit, vegetable, essential oil, or any other plant that you are allergic to, then you can have a better idea of what to buy for yourself. The one person that I know thats allergic to everything, she has a serious autoimmune disorder and she has to go through specific treatment and medications for it. Even she, she is able to use products from Attitude and ECOS. Thanks and good luck!
I think you have to take doctors advice with a grain of salt. Be an informed patient and know that every medication and product has it's negative and side effects! Vaseline doesn't work for me, even though it works for other people. I have seen many doctors to get my eczema checked, each one of them gave me totally different advice and different medications to try. Most of the advice didn't help and the medications all harmed me instead of healed my eczema. I know when I worked at the cancer hospital, many patients saw multiple doctors and tried multiple chemos and trials, because one doctor may not offer the right cancer treatment. So my point is, be an informed patient. Don't just believe everything that your doctor tell you. Ask for evidence, do your own research, and if the medication had terrible side effects, go back to your doctor and ask for something else.
I use Vaseline on my son do to his eczema. I love it because like you said I grew up with it and my skin is dry as well. Very informative video. Thanks for the tips 👏🏾😊
Thank you for your comment. Yes, they will still mine it for gas. But we have the choice to not use it for our skin and avoid potential harm to our skin. I explained the reasons and gave sources on why we should not put it on our skin. People may not agree and continue to use Vaseline, which is ok and it's on them now.
