Great points. Power comes from the story and the emotion you provide the audience through your voice, not the ego or proving something to yourself or others. The more you let go and open up to a relaxed practice, the better things become with singing. I only realized this myself recently...

I love this Eric! This seems congruent with a post I just put on IG this morning VVV Let me know what you think. By no means am I a teacher but this is something I've been manifesting and I appreciate all that you do for us! The key to singing, is mastering the basics but then mastering and finding your own voice. It’s not about singing the highest note or a certain way. Think about it this way…it’s the same as being yourself which, in other words, means being authentic. If anyone wants to truly unlock their potential as a singer, they must be aware of this and understand it. They need to master their authentic voice. Understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Capitalizing on the strengths and working on the weaknesses. This will allow for more opportunities and reduce the threats.

I totally get your point👏🏻 I believe that's why some singers who enter a contest end up screaming! They want to prove they can sing in high vocals but the result makes your ears bleeding!

Its all just placement. It's where you shift your vocals thinness or thickness. Or, lifted soft palate vs. more narrow or neutral. Hope this helps!

I have been having that problem since i bought your breathing bootcamp a couple years ago and that is the only thing i havent liked about your exercises is i either sing too much head voice or too much chest voice and it really hurts my ego because i wanna sing my high notes in chest thank you for this video you explain pretty much every problem vocally that ive had in detail 💪💯

When i was a child or younger and sung my aunt who had a powerful sister as far as singing told me you dont feel what you sing. When you sing from your belly and mean it people will feel it. I now know what she meant!❤

You’re welcome 🙏🏽🙂. And I’m a “low voice” type. According to European classical fach classification, I’m a textbook bass-baritone. When I performed professionally as a classical singer, my voice suited that repertoire perfectly. You can hear a little bit here 👉🏽 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KMfbf-b1vDY.html

I'm still guilty of this from time-to-time. There's a stigma that rockers have to belt at 100% chest voice, otherwise, it's not rock. This, however, is absurd; no rock singer would be able to get through 2 songs if they did what others think they did.
@ericarceneaux
@ericarceneaux Год назад
EXACTLY!!! Some of my top rock clients are known for their incredible “chest voice/ full voice” range, and we laugh all the time about allowing fans to hold on to the fantasy/illusion of what in reality is a dense and supported mix. 🙌🏽😆

Was just wondering, my chest voice range is E2-D3 then I flip to falsetto at E3 and can go up to E5 with mix. Is it possible for me to increase my chest voice range by an octave to D4 or by two octaves to D5? So that I can hit D4 or D5 with pure chest without falsetto or mix?
