I agree with your point on dans. I really really like it. I don't think they are bad and I think they are actually really good. I know 4k has some stigmatism against them but 7k, SDVX, IIDX, and other AC and rhythm games that contain them have them way more integrated in the game. I think its the elitism that comes from dans that is bad, not the dans themselves. Then again people have their own opinions. I just thing people need to be more mature about them.
I mean dans (the most popular ones, so Ddmythical ones, Emik's Zeta and Thaumiel's Eta) are kinda a bad way to measure your skill especially since the later ones (Epsilon-Eta mainly) are unbalanced. Some people take this stuff way too seriously and every score they set is delta this gamma that and it's just stupid and can even be annoying at times. Overall as a concept they are a pretty good thing but what we got and what people do with them makes them a rather mixed bag.
@@abondednajs666 I mean it makes sense right. Dans track your overall skill. If you are better at one skill set by a far margin and worse at another one by a far margin they equal out in the middle. I do get your point. Your saying dans should track well roundedness rather than overall skill. Which is what other systems do with HP gauges on each map. It is a rough slope. But I don’t think they are bad.
@@Amachi I agree with your take here. Maybe it has to do with me more leaving the 4k community but that’s why I look more torwards the less popular dans out there. Weather it’s the Malody ones like the V3 dans or the makise system. I do think the DDM ones are good up until about gamma. That’s where a lot of the maps are either just on super high rates or just unbalanced. I think the overall system needs some help. In terms of people saying “oh this map is 9th stream or 8th Jack” or anything along those lines. Idk about others but it’s easier for me to understand the difficulty when compared to a Dan. It gets annoying because you make it annoying. Someone could say oh it’s 130 BPM but idk if that’s dense and if it’s dense how dense. If someone told me oh it’s 140 BPM gamma level jack. I would assume it’s decently dense. But now I’m just rambling. I do agree with what you are saying. It might also have to do with so much 7k playing where dans are so integrated that people put the Dan skill level in their maps. Popular example is “Aci”
you are my inspiration i just got a rapid trigger keyboard because of you and now i am getting insane chordjack scores (epsilon jack od 4 hp 4 83% , stronger 89% gamma mid/high , etc)
@@pinkddpat i got a lot of overclears on jack maps of alpha dan i am derusting right now and playing the hardest levels with ez mod (rose quartrz 1.3 give it to dem 1.12 etc)
Sorry in advance if I listened to these two sections wrong, but don't you think your advice to upcoming players point is a little contradictory to your answer to finding the game fun anymore? You highlight the idea of not paying any mind to improvement and to focus on enjoyment, but your answer to the second question suggests that you practically need a purpose or goal to push on in the game, which is highly suggestive of a performance goal. The focus on improvement seems like an unavoidable thought no matter what you do it seems
@@myucchii I'd like to start by saying I greatly appreciate your response, it isn't every day I get to message a top player! I just want to say though, I feel like that advice might be a little inactionable? I'm not sure how someone could deliberately try to have fun without going out of their way to play beatmaps that don't challenge them for the sake of say, liking the song(In this case, wouldn't they be better off just playing another game for now?). I assume the purpose is so prevent burnout, but I imagine this can, and should probably be done in other ways At the moment from what I can tell, most people's enjoyment of the game is derived from pushing themselves for months until their improvement stagnates and they burnout only to come back later (including myself) but this is probably just narrowminded I guess I'd just like to ask what you do personally to have fun in the game
@@ulkokosI know I yapped a lot and I'm sorry, but I just don't really know how that advice is actionable in a way that people aren't already doing consciously. It kinda feels like it doesn't mean much This IS that deep to me, since this kind of advice could be the difference between burning out perpetually, and having sustainable fun improvement
Can you send the link to your discord? (Also, if you could, you should also leave it in the description of videos in case others want to join in the future too)
