I forgot to tell you this too thank you so much for this video as well augie. I used the boxing out and guiding drill you said and I got about 3-4 rebounds. Thank you so much it means a lot😃🔥🏀
I am a 5'4"/5'5" player that was just recently cut and I believe that being a better rebounder, defender, and passer will help me try to make jv. Any tips?
Im only 13 and im 6,8 and cannot evenly get a rebound because im weak at jumping and i dont really know how to clip the ball and the sad here is i have a long arms and i feel to useless because i cannot conrtol my body more because i feel im small and looks like a skeleton but thanks to this video
Great Vid Aug. I asked all my friends how to be a better rebounder, and all they could tell me was go get the ball. Your video helped me out immensely. Keep them coming.
I'm 15 yrs old and 6'3 and have trouble on positioning, I usually set up in the wrong spot and end up to close and the ball goes over my head. Any tips?
In my experience, I find that there are two ways to become a better rebounder: 1. Box out your opponent 2. Out jump your opponent. To jump higher I have a video on my channel. Everyone can learn to box out better. Everyone can train to jump higher.
Im a 5'9 Pilipino I can Rebound Good But not every time i got the ball And i Cant Shoot Every Layups Because im Too Nervous When someone Coming from me :(
Howdy Augie ! Thanks for the sub ! Hope ya like the Show. That's really cool how you share your knowledge. I love all sports since I was a kid. Take care ! Peace
I am center i am killer when it comes to the rebound but as my granddad says'' If you can get better, you need to be better." So i watched this video. It really helps i went from around 12 rebound per gane to 16 per game.
I'm the only one on my team that Box's out and ig that's why I average 14 rpg thank you so much for your Support and Influence, make your next video on big man moves but that might be hard for you bc your a sg but thx so much‼️
I have always told teammates that we can win this game if we get boards with an emphasis on "get". Standing around waiting for the rebound to find you is not enough.. you have to pursue it like you mentioned. Nice video!
what are some strategies for undersized players to get rebounds against bigger sized players? what are some strategies for getting steals from those bigger sized players after they get the rebound?
Bonaventure Leung go for their legs, small players are annoying for us big men when they go low and hit our legs, not letting us move. When you got his legs try to keep him as far from the basket as possible . You might not get the rebound, but he won’t either
Try and stick your butt into their legs and get as wide as you can to make sure you are stable. If they are giant then just work their feet (trap them, box out, etc.) it's hard to reb when small people do these things to me. Good luck :)
@@raresuta5895 "...but he won't either." That's excellent advice for smaller players. It's all about holding him off and carving out that space for yourself or your teammates. All of the work is done on the floor.
@@raresuta5895 I get so sick of hearing kids or smaller dudes whine about "I can't get rebounds because I'm not big", and using that as an excuse not to put in the work. Players should look to be good rebounders regardless of their size.
This is not going to help me that much but maybe some other people...I'm 5'0 and 14 years old I normally play with 15 through 19-year-old guys and I have good handles and I change speed and finish easily but sometimes I choke thinking I will get blocked but most times I finish and it's not like I'm so skinny and can't get a rebound;I could because I jump pretty high but when it's to boxing out a way bigger 6'1 or around there guy I can't much lmao.....So should I let my centers and all of them do the work?
Gotta want it bruh. I’m 5’7 but I still grab boards. You gotta want it more than them. Also if you got hops meet their jump at their peak and slap that board right out of their hands or tip it box em and grab it. Just be careful to not foul. You gotta get the ball clean.
