The Tudor Black Bay Bronze Wristwatch: The Full Nick Shabazz Review 

The Tudor hour hand reminds me of a snake that has swallowed a Lego.

That strap weave is so, so different than literally every other nato on the market. It looks more like a denim item, if anything.

The width probably wouldn't bother me, the lack of bracelet wouldn't bother me because of the style of this watch, but I can't stand chimneys growing out of my wrist. Thanks for highlighting that issue.

Disagree on the height, I wouldn't want it any smaller or thinner. I love mine, you just need the wrist for it.

This design is magic.

One thing to note with the domed crystal - they're tough AF, and raising it up a little actually protects the aluminium of the bezel from scratches n' stuff from being scuffed left face down etc. Personally I'm a fan 🙂

My friend has an eight inch wrist. That watch would be perfect for him I bet. The strap looks very nice.

Just a couple of points, the aluminium bezel and box crystal isn't an issue, i've been wearing a BB Red for about 2 years as my everyday watch and the bezel still looks as fresh as the day I bought it. The crystal has taken a couple of whacks but still remains unchipped and unscratched. The lume is definitely bright enough to thoroughly annoy anyone you share a bed with! :D

Now we need a Black Bay Bronze 58 so we can complain about the name again instead of the size.

I actually have a smaller wrist as well and own and wear this watch. However, I put it on the leather strap. With the tudor leather strap, it definitely feels like it works alot better on my 6.65" wrist than it did with the Nato. Plus its a thick leather strap so the lug height doesn't feel as unwieldy.

That watch is already a boat anchor. If there was a bracelet for it, the entire package would tip the scales at 200+ grams. That's AP ROO territory and make it truly uncomfortable to wear.

Obviously this was the basis for the design of my Aquatico Bronze Sea Star! I went for the green dial and bezel as well, to complement the bronze

Strangely the 42mm SMP300 you showed looked bigger than the Tudor to my eyes. I think the color of the bronze make the Tudor look smaller than its specs.

I think Tudor should add the 3-6-9 numeral dial to other models of the black bay. I would absolutely love that in the BB58 or the BB 36 models.

I got a gold or bronze Casio Royale. I think bronze is a completely different look.

If you think that’s big you should get a look at Zelos Abyss it’s 20mm thick

I’ve always loved this watch but the thickness and lug to lug length are deal breakers for my 7&1/8” flat, oval wrist. Do you think the case size is due to the bronze composition? I’m a chef and metallurgy is just not in my wheelhouse.

Hello! This is bit of a long post. Love the watch I’m looking getting a GMT master 2. This is a call for help for info and people more in the know. I have been looking around for 2 months now trying to find custom parts for some knives. But I’m really struggling. I’m wanting a few things for my knives, Deep carry clips (Spyderco wire styled ones and the “spoon” styled ones and Benchmade.) Custom metal scales (mostly for the spyderco’s with no liners.) And custom thumb studs (for the Benchmade as I fell their are too short.) Is it possible to get custom liners? I would like to get replacement liners for he 940 as the jimping on it is just to fine and it doesn’t grip my skin. And I would like one of those bolt on wave attachments, but preferably metal. Any idea where I could get those things from? I’m also not in North America unfortunately. (I also seen custom metal scales for a SAK and they looked nice, and Star Wars themed ones but again can’t find any for sale.) Also can you get a deep carry clip for pens and flashlights? And preferably I would like them to be USA made. Any help is much appreciated!

I have a couple Glycine combat subs in bronze I got from Drop for around $400 a piece. Im too tough on my watches to be comfortable spending more than that. That said this is a grail for me and the inspiration for getting the Glycine watches in my collection.

What kind of bracelet should be included in that price? Steel or bronze?

I adore my Bucherer but then I don't have child's wrists.

Howdy Nick, thanks for checking out a watch that can patina. This is more my style than the ones you tend to gravitate towards. I appreciate the variety. Unfortunately I have pretty small wrists though so despite liking the look of this watch very much, it's probably too big for me.

That is an odd strap, "effortfull" is a good adjective. Very Cool though

But will it turn your wrist green, ??? Keeps bringing the SMP, in for a comparison,, . Be still, my beating heart,,, lol...

I kinda hate this watch, but I love bronze divers. Get a Glycine Combat in Bronze instead.

I've got two Black Bay's and didn't even knew they existed in bronze.

My kingdom for a bronze watch that's 40mm or under, less than 1k and looks half-decent. Yep, they don't exist.

UPDATE; Tudor just released a bronze bracelet model. Yeah, a full bronze make your arm green bracelet.

I love mine but..... 1. Bronze is SOFT 2. Both both styles of straps are fragile. Get the cloth wet and it pills and frays, my leather i bought extra also started peeling up at the edges with minimum use. Ad replaced both, $21 amazon Barton strap holds up better.
