I love how this song sounds like the perfect middle between DrukQs and Syro era Aphex, because it really is. It's crazy enough and at the same time sounds a bit more pop to sit right between those releases.

as someone who has been listening to drukqs for 4-5 years now, i can tell ya that this EP by The Tuss reigns supreme. Drukqs has some wild shit but this EP feels like he really honed in on his craft.
It truly is like wine or cheese it it gets better the more it ages both in the scheme of my life : because I can appreciate the nuances of the music and how well put together these beautiful melodies are, and in the scheme of all music to be made in the view of the public eye these days most people like music because of the name associated with the track and is just a clod of maggot infested sensationalism, but after people have moved on we can look at old music more for what it is. Time will tell. (Thoughts ?)
When I first heard the track Vordhosbn I thought it wasn't for me and thought it was a terrible song, now it's like top 5 best music I've ever heard lol.

I suggest watching a few of the great documentaries about the history of techno right here on RU-vid .. start with Detroit and go from there, you can't go wrong :)
Yeah, techno is sort of catch-all phrase for beat/synth driven electronic music anyways. Maybe ambient doesn't fit into the category but that's about it.

@@alankritjindal Yes it's 100% him. I saw Richard at a grocery store in Glasgow yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I could not agree more. I was lucky enough to buy the first white labels in early 90s before the fame and acolade. He was and will always be, a cut above.
one day i was baked and decided to gave myself completly to the this track. At 3:30 i had such an intense experience (goosebumps in the entire body) that i almost fainted, literally fell from the chair. best musical experience of my life

The Tuss are my neighbors the Tregaskins, they are siblings, love each other very much and want to keep their life private. Richard is a cousin of them and sometimes we come together for an acid party and listen to unreleased shit. love it.
Around 4:00 to the end is incredible stuff, perfection. this is what elevates this for me as one of RDJ's best. Even the sound at the very end is great
I want to make this the national anthem of Japan even though I make my own music. This is great. Richard D. James is an honorary member of our country. He is one of us.
It's not even doubtful now, The Tuss is at least some tracks by RDJ. Take for example the fact that RDJ played some The Tuss tracks months before we even knew about The Tuss or anyone did for that matter. Or perhaps the fact that RDJ is listed as a writer for the tracks. Or even the fact that rephlex's site itself says this.

So glad someone commenting on that pad... ever since I heard the tune that's what hit me straight away. 95% I remember it from an old Detroit techno tune late eighties - someone like Juan Atkins or Kevin Saunderson - even the actual notes / sequence was similar. Been through loads of tunes though I've even listened to hours of synth preset from back then on their old machines dx100 etc. Still no luck. Love to get some insight on it!
