Heres a theory Hive fleet Tiamet is connected with Hive Fleet Kronos. Kronos is a splinter fleet that specializes in fighting Chaos corruption and suppressing the influence of the Warp. With the opening of the Great Rift Kronos has become more and more active in its cleansing of Chaotic taint in the galaxy. If the construct Tiamet is building causes immense amounts of Psychic suppression than perhaps Tiamet is the defensive strategy of the Hivemind to Kronos' offensive tactics. The great construct could act similar to the Necron Pylons on Cadia and perhaps once complete would be used to close the Great Rift, so the feast can begin.

As scary as a beacon is, a Planet-sized Tyranid made from the congealed biomass of several planets that could eat entire worlds whole would be scary too.

There’s also tyranids that have adapted to live within a planets ecosystem and continuously harvest life, but only enough to continue living it seems, they literally just became animals.

My theory is that it is a weapon to use against Chaos. Chaos threatens their food source, while providing no biomass itself. So Tyranids are adapting and producing a form of "pest control" on this planet. First was Kronos, now, using the intel gathered by Kronos, is Tiamat.

Pet theory: the Nids are carrying out a Zulu-esque "buffalo Horns" maneuvre Leviathan and its 10th Ed iterations are the Horns. Tiamat is setting up a forward operating base to call in the Chest/Belly.

I remember playing a game where the end game scene was you (The Tyranids) took over the planet and used it as a solar system base as they devoured the minerals and gases of other planets and did the same there. Using the energy of the sun to grow plant like organisims that also serve as a natural planatary defense. Eventually enough biomass is created natrually thanks to extreme photosynthesis/Radioactive Absorbtion ability you couldve chosen early in the game and BAM. Your a galatic super threat. I dont know if i imagined this game or if i should write fir Games Workshop on the Tyranids.

I imagine its probably related to the shadow in the warp or some sort of giant psychic conductor. We shall see, tho.

It's just Tyranid movie night. The entire hive fleet is piled in there with popcorn and blankets watching movie after movie. The whole structure is their version of a pillow fort, which they're defending with as much zeal as any child would defend theirs.

I have a good theory on what it is, it's a beacon. The tyrnids have realized that there are too many species with weapon that can easily harm and kill them. So now they've activated a beacon or they're in the middle of crafting a beacon that can contact a much larger portion of the high plate. So I said they received a tendril. They received an arm of The Hive fleet instead

Build super structure, Instill Mass Fear, feed off of psychic energy. Now you have an attack platform or maybe to it into an experiment planet?

My guesses are two. Combined . A psychich weapon to make capturing the galaxy easier and more effective, to remove the willpower of opponents or even psychicly start blocking out the warp everywhere, and to house the hive mond i would guess. Sort of a all in one project.

Personal theory: it's an Anti-Golden throne that disrupts all the psychic shit by enhancing the shadow in the warp thing or the Hive Mind's control over the warp, they're gonna try either weakening Chaos or disrupting the Imperium's navigation tech.

Also with all of the races and their abilities sometimes they also work together so maybe temp traces could help stop this massive guider device

What's terrifying is when something scray is somehow afraid of something else.

I collect Tyranids and Deathwatch and I love them both, I therefore love any lore involving both of them.

If you subscribe to the theory that the nids are the plan b of the old ones to wipe the galaxy clean, hive fleet tiamet could be building a sort of psychic beacon to both draw in more nids and give the all clear for any old ones left outside the galaxy once the job is done

I personally like to think that the tyranids aren’t just using it as a beacon, but they’re pooling biomass there and using the planet as an incubator for some kind of planet sized monstrosity

Maybe it is an issolation method. Figthing inside the galaxy is troublesome, but having to figth with other outsiders is worse, so maybe it is like cutting a piece of food before chewing it
