I didn't realize it when the video came out, but this video is an incredible masterclass. As a pianist RU-vidr, I know the effort that goes into making a video (creating an arrangement, practicing to make it smooth, filming a version that satisfies us - every small mistake pushes us to start over). And all of this is for only one song. To do this for 200 pieces seamlessly and with well-executed transitions, I can't even imagine the enormous amount of work that went into it. In any case, thank you for these 2 hours of pure happiness. Animenz, you are a tremendous source of inspiration. Keep doing what you do!

Tonight, Animenz not only showed off his top-notch skills as an anime pianist, but also his ability to be a veteran OTAKU who has seen a lot of anime.(笑) This 200 anime song mix is going to stay with me for a long, long time ... I can't help but thank God that you didn't get to fulfill your wish as a student. After all, there is only one less piano teacher in the world. But there is one more musician who is leading the way for the entire anime piano community! Once again, I would like to thank Animenz for opening a window for many people, including myself, to learn piano again. Not only did I learn to play piano again, but I also spent more time watching anime(〃∀〃) As a result, I got to know a lot of anime piano musicians. I have also met many Taiwanese and Chinese fans who love anime and manga piano music. In 2022, I had the pleasure of working with members of the Taiwan Fan Group to produce a video for Animenz to celebrate birthday. We also prepared various creative gifts to celebrate the 2 million subscribers, help with the traditional Chinese translation of this 200 anime song mix project, talking about Animenz's music together was an unforgettable experience that I never thought I would have before! 2.03 million subscribers, there are 2.03 million different life stories. When I said to some of my friends about anime songs, most of them said..what is anime... I don't know the song.. anime is not interesting.. I don't like anime... the music is stupid... etc etc. I said... well... why don't you just admit it is difficult to play at times. (im late but) i remember being in GRADE FIVE watching you play - what a role model you were to me as a growing musician! i remember the days of people arguing that you "sped up" your footage - how funny old youtube was :'). fast forward and im almost complete my undergraduate degree, but im equally as excited as i was as a kid to indulge in your performances. thank you, animenz, and congratulations on your continued growth!
I remember first coming across his Unravel cover through another RU-vidr's synthesia upload based off of anime arrangement. I was probably 13 or 14 that time. And now, like yourself, I have also completed my undergrad. ^^
I’m not one to get emotional, but I only started watching anime in the latter part of high school, and up until then I didn’t have a steady group of friends. I kept trying to hang with a crowd that wasn’t for me and my nerdy interests and socially awkward self. Finally, I kind of accepted that, and met a new group of people. We came together watching attack on titan, then kill la kill, and then ouran. Very nearly a full decade later, as working adults, they’re still my best friends, and we’re all finally traveling to Japan together later this year. Now to my actual original point, listening to all of these songs and remembering all of those times in my life that I spent with these friends, I get *very* emotional. More emotional than I did when I watched the shows themselves. I’m probably gonna be coming back to this video for the rest of my life. This is worth a lot more to me than what I’m paying, but I have a trip to save up for. Thank you.

Lieber Animenz, Herzlichen Glückwunsch für diesen unfassbaren Meilenstein!! So viele Menschen mit der eigenen Leidenschaft bewegen zu können, ist eines der schönsten Dinge dieser Welt und ich hoffe du wirst noch viele Jahre daran deine Freude finden! Meine Reise mit deiner Musik begann, als ich mir 2014 dein Arrangement von My Soul, your Beats! angeschaut habe und einfach nur fasziniert davon war, wie jemand so präzise und detailgetreu, nah am Original, aber dennoch mit einem ganz eigenen Charme, ein Lied auf dem Klavier aufführen konnte. Dieses und viele andere Videos zu der Zeit haben mich inspiriert mit dem Klavierspielen anzufangen und es war eine der bedeutendsten und prägendsten Entscheidung meines Lebens. Damals war ich 13 und mit mittlerweile 21 spiele ich immer noch sehr gerne Klavier und habe nie aufgehört deine Arrangements und „Animenz Explains“ zu genießen. Daher möchte ich dir danken; nicht nur, weil du mein Leben um ein Vielfaches bereichert hast, sondern auch so viele andere Menschen auf der ganzen Welt. Die Anime Piano Community ist wahrlich fantastisch und die Liebe und Leidenschaft zu sehen, mit denen die Creator unter anderem die Videos zu deinen Jahrestagen erstellen, erfüllt mich immer wieder aufs Neue. Als ich dich das erste Mal live in Berlin 2018 sah konnte ich meine Tränen oft nicht zurückhalten. Den Bass im Bauch zu spüren, die kristallklaren hohen Töne nur wenige Meter entfernt vom, Klavier zu hören, die großartige Passion mit der du dich an das Klavier setzt; all das ließ mich für den Abend in eine andere Welt tauchen und als zum Schluss die ganze Konzerthalle das deutsche Pokémon Opening mitgesungen hat, habe ich mich unglaublich gefühlt. So viele Menschen, die meine Leidenschaft für Anime und Klaviermusik teilen und gemeinsam mit dir diesen wundervollen Moment geschafft haben. Das signierte Poster von dem Abend hängt seitdem über meinem Klavier und erinnert mich daran, immer mein Bestes zu geben. I Guess he just did several video clicks and put the Best in one long video. I think that is impossible to play for one hour this complex Master pieces without make a mistake. I supose is edited in convenience!
@@josephg6593 It is 100% edited. For example at 1:06:50 you can see him play a D-B-C#-D-F# in the right hand and accidentally hits a C on the second D that you can't hear at all. That's not to say he's bad, he's still very good and playing without mistakes for 2 hours straight is pretty much impossible even for the best pianists. There are more in other places that I noticed before but I didn't note the timestamps. I took like 10 minutes randomly going through it to find this one that's pretty much undisputable, so that should also show that he made very few mistakes and there isn't too much editing.
There're so many stories to tell all over this 200(oh, actually 201, what a splendid way to start a new stage of the journey!)-song medley: Some animes I didn't realize Animenz has watched to begin with (e.g. Kenshin, Ouran Kokou, GTO, Black Butler, etc., now we know for sure he has literally watched ALL of the animes :b); new versions of previous arrangements are full of fun surprises and upgraded techniques (some 2.0s, others 3.0s, or even 4.0s…); many songs Animenz finally did after all these years, checked off many people’s wish list I guess (now Animenz, pls do rest your hands for a whole few minutes, then full versions s'il-vous plaît, haha)… Listening to all these 200 songs from beloved animes of different eras, it's like I can see my life flashing before my eyes... I'm not dying, yet this must be heaven! :b It has been nice to have each period of life, happy or sad, associated with & accompanied by these animes, and now, it's even greater to have each period of life associated with & accompanied by Animenz's piano music. I’ve only played piano for a year or two, and the fact Animenz played for almost 2 straight hours with no mistakes on MEMORY (I’m guessing since I don’t see any sheet music) is absolutely incredible. Absolutely inhuman feat to pull off, I don't even know what else to say. Hearing familiar tracks but never knowing what comes next made the premiere so much fun! Almost jumped out of my chair at a few, so many feelings!! Those I was unfamiliar with were such a treat too, I think the one that stood out the most to me was "Inner Universe", it clearly makes for an amazing piano arrangement! And speaking of amazing piano arrangements... Kyoumen no Nami. Animenz please, I'm begging you please arrange a full size with this orchestral style, I cannot explain how chilling it is and how many times I've replayed that snip of the medley now. It sounds so good, my god. I was replying to a text when it played during the premiere and my hands just STOPPED when I heard it. I'm in love. Thank you for this absolute Meisterwerk of a medley. I want to appreciate immeasurable dedication that Animenz put for the arrangement because knowing Animenz, he sticks to the original key of the songs and given the theme of every category, the transition in between 12 keys is just simply unreal. Everything flows together seamlessly without a doubt the best Anime Piano on RU-vid by far. Had a good cry of how nostalgic the songs are especially the last 3 categories, where Ani-Song is just simply beautiful without needing to be "pretentious" like lots of music nowadays. I must say, this piece of work can only be created by someone who also shares the passion on animes. There's a lot of anime songs covered by other piano channel on youtube right now, but Animenz-san's music is at different level. No fansy tricks, no hot body to attract viewer's attention, plays straight forward but also deep. for the past over 12 years since his first upload (as far as i know), the soul has not change, same view, same styles, He plays not to show off how good he is or to impress anyone, he plays becuz he is passionate at what he plays. Since you posted this I've been regularly visiting it back, and this time around I was surprised to see I never left a comment. Honestly, the amount of times I have cried watching this is inumerable. All from nostalgia, the joy and happiness of seeing songs and anime I love so much getting the spotlight, and most of all, the fact that you dedicated to much time and effort into making this into the amazing video it is. Thank you so much for all the work you've been putting into this, and into all your work all these years. You've come a long way and you have definitely made incredible progress towards your goal. There is so much that has changed over the years, all the way from your first arrangements, to your own little "golden age" from around 2011-2018 surprisingly, and all the way from there where you've ultimately perfected the quality of your videos, and reached a more mature arrangement style. I can't believe it's been so long since I began watching you sometime in 2014 or 2015. In a few years it'll be a decade of watching, listening, and loving your piano arrangements and performances. I picked up piano in late 2016 and fell in love with it, no doubt a lot of the reason why because of you and your videos, then went to a music course in high school and now studying music in university. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that you have changed my life with your music, and you opened me up to understanding what music really can do. Keep up the amazing work, and you will undoubtably complete your goal before your death (unlike most classical composers). I for one will always have a spot in my heart for you and your music, and I don't doubt I will listen to your performances when I'm about to die of old age.

Bro I cried so hard with the last part of the 6th section and then when I thought I could calm myself again you hit me with Anohana, then Your Name, then Angel Beats and then Your Lie In April. I literally had to stop the video otherwise I would cry all the way through. Animenz always making me feel stuff I usually don't feel (even when listening the original) and that makes me feel so happy and proud of you. Everytime I listen you play I always remember myself watching Kono Oto Tomare and thinking that stuff like feeling the music and puting and comunicating emotions with it was just to make the anime more interesting, but I can confidently say that you can achive this and beyond. I'm not exagerating when I say you might be the best piano player in the entire world, or even the best player in general not because of you technique (which already is top class) but because all the emotions and feelings you transmit with your music. Hope people can relate with me and hope you can keep surprising us in the next year and beyond. Happy new year to Animenz and anyone else reading this.

I didn't look at the first comment to surprise myself with what songs will be played, and I was crossing my fingers for Unravel and Colors THE WHOLE TIME. What a great end to 2022! I love how this premiere turned out-you divided each genre of anime music into separate groups, and everything went pretty smoothly! These song choices were especially spectacular, and I was pretty interested in a few that you played-definitely gonna be adding some to my playlist. Another thing that I want to mention is your stamina. Your stamina is absolutely insane, and it seemed as if you had little to no trouble with playing at a fast tempo while also maintaining the strength and power you put into the keys, plus your hands looked very relaxed. So much work was put into this, and all I can say right now is…. *BRAVO!* That’s all from me for now. THIS IS DOPE AS HELL! CONGRATULATIONS FOR ANOTHER MILESTONE! I think most people won't undertand how amazing this medley is because Animenz always make his arrangements look so easy but they are not!!! The amount of stamina needed, the piano knowledge to make every transition so smooth, the time spent in order to choose each anime, organize them by genre and play them as if it was one whole song of 2hours in such armonic way.. the techniques he uses and the time spent to memorize all of them! It is just incredible!
