Been in this van when it was getting built, was basically done at that point and it looked amazing. We were getting work done on our van at the same builder.
A tip for protecting your van / vehicle windows from getting smashed for entry is to buy & install pre cut Window film. If you're already tinted then you can get clear, but it laminates the window making it really tough & hard to break. Obviously it can be broken eventually with enough effort, but the film is stuck to the glass so it's much harder to break in the 1at place & if it does break it doesn't shatter into pieces and explode like the glass would normally, instead it stays shattered but in one piece meaning theres still no way through. 😎👌 Easy job to do yourself with soapy water & a squeegy. Great video as always, & such a smart van / layout 👍
Sad to see your friends van had been broken into 🤬. Our biggest worry when we’re away. But it won’t stop our hobby and just hope it never happens 🤞. Van looks fantastic with the Xmas decorations. Well done. Put me to shame 🙈👏👏x
Its an awful situation when you return to your van and its been burgled. It happened to us in France and its was horrendous having a huge impact on the kids. They literally emptied it and as we had been on the road for most of the summer we were carrying a lot. To make matters worse, dealing with the French police was another experience best forgotten. Strangely enough i got my stolen passport back which had been dumped in a bin about 5kms away and some kind soul found me on social media and sent me a message. Now we travel light, and our valuables go with us when we park up for the day.
Have been travelling in various vans all over Europe for last 40 years. This does happen and have had several incidents myself, including having my complete van stolen in Czech Republic, have also had my van attached with machetes in Spain. Don't dwell on it, get on and enjoy the positives, it will likely happen again if you are on the road for extended periods. Do what you can to park up in places that you feel make you less of a target. Unfortunately your van does stand out and will attract. attention
What a cracking van - very interesting - what an awful thing to happen with the break in - CCTV is becoming a must isn’t it. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Amazing van, been following Mark for a while on insta and was gutted for him when the break in happened. But on a lighter note like many have already said, he’s one of the nicest guys you could meet and he didn’t mind me taking a look around his van at MVT for the 4th, 5th and even 6th time 😂 its just one of those vans that you need to look at more than once. Great layout with some well thought through touches here and there 👍🏻
Wow what an amazing van! Beautiful, the quality and detail is stunning. You should be very proud! Sorry to hear about the break in. I don’t think it’s possible to stop a determined thief from breaking in to your van. All you can do is try to make it difficult for them to get hold of your valuables once they are in. Does anyone consider including a metal safe in their van builds within a cupboard to lock away passports, cameras, laptops etc? Like a hotel safe bolted through the van floor like the seats? A safe may put off or delay the thief’s long enough to at least stop them getting hold of valuables or being disturbed or discovered? Also does your CCTV system ping your phone when it detects someone?
I am admiring the videos you are sharing. Thank u for your efforts … What is the maximum dimensions of the weels that i can fit without problems with a 30mm lift kit? I wanna put a bit bigger and wider tires¿ please share if you ve any opinion or experience… thanks in advance
Re the break in, get a Vanbitz alarm system no one can stay in the van for more than 10 secs before their ears have burst and they have to run away with nothing. Believe me it works 👏
Stunning van and total nightmare situation to be in - feel for you and remember your posts on IG when it happened. Really makes you think and I'm also wondering how they opened the sliding door from inside, as I thought they were deadlocked when the van was locked and alarmed? Glad its behind you and hope to see the van in person one day.
