- The only thing missing is real life long range test (or send them to someone who does long range, eg. Falcon Rad FPV). - I might be mistaken but long range is all about the range (so efficiency first?). - Tbh normalization by motor weight is nice but with weight of quad being more that 600g (with battery > 1000 g) change in 6 grams is 1%) it might be more interesting to do normalization by total weight of average craft of it's size with 4 motors (avg weight of 7" drone in this case). - It would be really interesting if you tried designing 1S whoop motor (eg. 0702 26000 kv) for efficiency. - Do you only do something like interpolation betweeen all the motor parameters or do you run something like genetic/evolutionary algorithm (feel free to keep your secret)? Thanks

I tested the 1500 kv on a 7" 6S and was more than happy with the final result. Before that the same quad was running 2207 1800kv motors. The 2207 were doing fine as long as the quad was new but over time with crashes, they started to become hot probably because bashed quads introduce more vibrations. The bigger 2807 ecoII solved that issue. Note, the motors bearings of the ecoII did a metallic sound when they were new, but it didn't affect performance in a way I could notice.

Everybody talks about not great efficiency but looking at data sheets the AOS 2807 at 50% throttle has 6.045 g/W efficiency with GF 7040-3 (1030g for 7.1 A) whereas Emax ECOII 2807 with same props, with a similar thrust of 900g is pulling 9.3A, so an efficency of 3.84 g/W. Yet we doesn't see this on the charts on this video. What am I missing because looking at the data sheet thoses AOS motors looks like the best i've ever seen 🤔
@andrewbt87
@andrewbt87 2 месяца назад
But is it an actual 2807 size or again its a larger motor made lighter, thinner and more fragile to save weight? also almost all innovations you can find on other motors too, performance gains are marginal as-well, makes the ECO 2807 seems a better deal, and your KV is too high if you want efficiency for long range, people now go for 1150kv for 7inch or rewind the motors
@chrisbee5481

Havent seen 1150kv for 7" u less poeple are using 2810 or 2812 instead of 2807. Bigger motors allow lower kv. Try the gemfan 7050 props. Love them

How do I convert watts to torque in grams ? (motors do it all the time but I don't know why I can't)

Somewhat disappointed as to how this was presented. Efficiency looks not very promising for a long-range cruiser. You say its 'middle of the pack' but your chart shows that at lower throttle, it is actually 'bottom of the chart'. Nobody flies their 7 inch at full tilt or even medium-high throttle for cinematic cruising. The iFlight motors look much better on this chart. But it guess it comes down to use case scenario. If you need to chase proper race cars around a track, this may be more suitable. I would argue though that very few people get the chance to actually do that. The majority of 7 inch pilots will favor efficiency above most things, including weight. Finally its really hard to justify the 33 dollar price when the Emax Eco II is THAT good.
@ugpfpv361
@ugpfpv361 2 месяца назад

is this a good choice for an 8s 5" freestyle quad? iam runniug the 2207 supernovas on my 8s quad to spin 4.9 to 5.2 inch props. given that i run hardcore pids, they are crazy hot when i run them at around 1400kv (72%). if i cannot get my ideal tune to safely run on the 2207, would these be a good option for a high quality 8s 5" freestyle quad if i want to maximize torque/power/reponsiveness and push pids to the max without frying the motors? i would also assume that htis can take more of a hit in a bando setting? or do the downsides overweigh (like weight). so far i havent burnt any supernova and there is still alot of headroom in tuning to get the heat down. but i was actually thinking "man, these killer motors, just lower KV and make the take more heat xD

@@ChrisRosser Appreciate the reply Chris. That's a super disappointing choice during the design, bent shafts are going to be in that motors future. If they were 5x11x5 I'd have considered them 🤏.
