A FAD is simply a mooring - a float with a chain attached to something heavy that keeps it in place on the bottom. Stuff grows on the chains. Plankton are attracted to the stuff. Small fish are attracted to the plankton. Larger fish are attracted to the small fish, etc.

I appreciate that Dale! We dont really play the game enough to be RU-vid successful. We are a bit too honest and straight I guess. Titles like "OMG, is our rudder about to fall off?" and other fake drama videos make me cringe and I just cant make myself do it even though I know we would get more views which equates to more Patrons, money, fame etc. We'll just keep trucking along. I have been trying to improve my story telling and for 2024 we have some new ideas. Thanks for watching for so long.

Back in 77 we sailed from Darwin to Bali. We were celestial navigating. Approaching Lombok we had worked out we were pretty close but couldnt figure out why we couldn't see it. It was hazy and cloudy. Finally somebody looked up and saw Mt Rinjani way above the clouds. We then set a dog leg course to arrive in Bali the next morning. Same thing the next morning no sign of Bali. Finally with our morning sights we figured out we had been taken 45 miles South by the current.

That surf break at Desert point doesn't look like somewhere in indonesia, it looks like what it's called, a desert region. Amazing to think that exists in that part of the world, I'd never expect that. Well done on your almost flawless trip there (I seem to recall a small bingle with another cat) and good luck with the upcoming expansion of your family. i'm unsure if you have any other kids, if not i can tell you it's a mind blowing experience, you get emotions that are unique to that event, you'll never get those anywhere else besides another child being born to you of your making. any best of luck with it all champ

The whole south coast of Lombok looks like this really. Specially in the end of the dry season. There's hardly a tree left on Lombok

ive sailed all around borneo. Its really cool. Laboan, kota kinabalu, survivor island, brunei, sandakan etc. The best sailing ive seen and ive seen a lot of asia, up to japan. Enjoy

Thanks Jonathan. Yup, next weeks video is about closing up TR for a few months. Seems weird to say "winterising" when she's on the equator. Had a great xmas/new yeahh with family and now we are getting things prepared to fly back to Lombok.

Im sure you and Mari will make plans to handle potential medical issues. Yep, bloody hair factory me. I saved about $300 by waiting till I got to Indo. Costs $2.50 for a cut there.

I feel like I got a very good deal. Cats like this dont come up for sale very often but if you do some online research you'll find that Cats in this range go for anywhere between A$150 - $300k
