We are a Kiwi/French couple (with a new baby) who had the dream of circumnavigating the globe by sailboat… initially having no clue of how to sail. Through our videos we hope to inspire others to explore alternative options of living and to spread ocean awareness. With YOUR support we can keep these movies coming every Monday/Tuesday (depending on your timezone).

Nice you got some time to explore as a family together out of the rain. Beautiful location. Very nice day shots but great night shots (Wow I would have thought theyd be blurry for 20s exposure from a drone), setting up for that might be worth its own techie video. Got some PFDs for the fam in the dinghy ?
Vern, Marie & Captain Eli: Not only was the passage irresistible, showing Eli at the wheel, yet combined with Labengki's beauty and your unforgettable drone footage at night makes this episode brilliant in all regards. We can't wait for your next artful endeavor and wish you all "fair winds and following seas. Eli steal the show, he's growing up so quickly.
What a great life you are giving Eli ( apologies for spelling). Your photography / cinematography is always really superb . Thanks for sharing these videos
Hey Vernon, as always, never care about what others think. How you call your own partner is something only for you and her. I do not even get why anyone thinks you shall call her this or that... and names, words are made up anyways, they mean different things to everyone. The only important things are that you are happy, while doing no harm to others. The way you do it is your own private matter. As for me, I think you are doing very well :)
Really nice shots, I love the way You capture the beauty of the places and people You visit. You do it in a way that exposes the effort, time, care and respect You invest, without it becoming too glossy or fake. We get to see both through the lense, and who is looking through the lense, a subtle honest balance. The evolution from one, then two, to now three peoples, two boats has been pretty cool to follow. Life well lived 😊.
Hello Vern, Marie and little man Eli Wow this island is fantastic so magical. That swimming hole I guess you can call it was awesome. I saw something the same while I was in Coron, Philippines. Your drone shot's day time and night time were awesome. Enjoy yourselves catch you next video
Yes, we like the night shots. Thanks for taking on this journey to places we may never ever see. I hope you don't get too complacent with the kill switch lanyard on the tender. André
@@SoundzAlive1 thanks mate. You’re right, I’m more than complacent, I don’t think I’ve ever worn it in my whole life! Sorta silly as it’s not really a big hassle. I might just start wearing it. 🙏
The night shot with the mini 3 came out great. Put a few more together and sell calendars. Little Eli steals the show once again. Safe travels to you all.
@@TheKorn858 thanks mate. It was the Mavic 3pro I used for this. I gave the Mini3 too but the sensor is much smaller than the pro. I use the mini for sailing shots as it’s less money if I loose it.
Thanks, yep thats a great word! Challenging sometimes for sure but maybe it makes us appreciate it more? Who knows, sometimes I could for sure do with having nothing go wrong.
@@SailingLearningByDoing Oh yeah…all my boat experiences were a constant repair process. There are plenty of great memories too. BTW, Very cool that you’ve got that water catchment thing going. Ok…savor the moments…continue to be grateful for the fortune of your family. All the best.
Your little cutey is growing up in front of our eyes! Beautiful images thank you. I loved the nighttime drone shots. I'm surprised the drone could stay still enough for the 8 second exposure to come out so well. It would make a great print.
Thanks, yeah the tech has got so good. The position lock is amazingly accurate. I remember building my first drones a couple of decades ago and they didnt even have GPS. The fact that it was a very calm night obviously helped.
1st. Yeah, partner is woke and non binary! The global elite are trying to normalize same sex relationships by using these words. Look at Nike, Budweiser and Target and how they promote it. If they had their way, they would have us shave our heads and all ware the same color and style of clothing so that you can't tell if it's a man or a woman. They also want us to eat bugs, own nothing and be happy. You can't tell what sex that other person is when your having a conversation with someone else and they are speaking of there partner. You want to ask but are afraid to find out if they are homosexual because that would kill any conversation if they are woke or otherwise. I could call her your girlfriend and the mother of your child or something like that. I think you two should get married even though you have covered that topic in a past video. I still think that you should do it. That way you can call her your wife and she can call you her husband. Being together as a couple and not being married is difficult after you have a kid because it sounds adolescent when you can't call her your wife when in a conversation to someone you just met and holding your baby with your girlfriend right there. When I'm talking to another guy and he says that his partner and I, I immediately think that he's homosexual and try to figure out what he means before I continue in conversation because I really don't approve of that type of lifestyle and don't want to make friends with them. It's kind of awkward, really. By the way, you should build your own water maker. There are several RU-vid videos that talk about it. Apparently, you could build one for $3,000 USD or less which is far less expensive than any other way. Nice photos!
Thanks. Yeah water makers are expensive but the real reason I dont really want one is that we dont really NEEd one. At some point maybe but till now we have been fine with rainwater and I'm so happy to have the least amount of complication on the boats I own. The number one reason for cruisers hanging around waiting for things is spare parts for water makers.
@@SailingLearningByDoing I didn't know that about the number one reason a cruiser hangs around is waiting on water maker parts. I don't see that in any sailing channel that I watch. Sailing Life on Jupiter has a good video about it but you can also find other water maker videos as well.
05:03 - love seeing Eli and Marie on the bow looking into the water. Enjoy these moments - you blink and they are walking and talking. Cheers from Sam, Cait & Charlie
@@sailingwiththejamess yeah incredible how fast things are moving. I’m sorta looking forward to every new step but also sad that he’s not a small baby anymore.
@@robdotcom71 that depends entirely on how it’s set up. Modern sloops with powered winches and bow thrusters can be sailed solo even at 50-60ft. Look at the Imoca class 60’s, sailing round the world solo. At what point does a solo cruising sailor need so much room for though? I think 40ft is a good size.
“Cigarettes are mandatory” 😆 I loved the video: Really captivating, remarkable and inspiring material - thank you for sharing! Blessings from Atlanta, GA
Guys what an epic adventure! I bloody loved the look into this unique and incredible traditional boat building. So true about what you said 'if there is a will there is a way in Indo'. This was so epic and really well put together, loved every minute especially your last comments on happiness. Cheers mate! Josh
That was such an epic episode, the anchorage at the end is so dreamy. Bloody loved that shot of Tradie and the jungle with you guys zooming around on the dinghy! Thanks for the video and constant source of inspiration! Keep it up guys, big love - Josh
