Sailing to a tiny island in the middle of no-where that others told me not to bother with? Should I stay or should I just push on? I've always pushed back against doing what others said so of course I decided to go check out Savu, a tiny one town island in-between Timor and Sumba, Indonesia. I left from Rote and had a last minute crew member join me.
So happy to be exploring these remote parts of the world again.

Glad you enjoyed it! I'd say Indonesia is one of the best cruising places on earth! 17,000 islands, no hurricane season, relatively cheap and amazing people.

Great spot! We stayed in that anchorage north of Sabu town for a week earlier this year and met Elsa and some other locals. Great people! There can be good surf at the corners of the reef there as well. Magic place and captured so well in your vid. Love your work!

Apologies for no comments or watchng activities on your channel for months. We bought a 35ft mono and are doing all the jobs you describe (plus a few more). Massive project taking more time and definitely more money than anticipated, but you can't take it with you eh? James awesome video. Yea that was a cool little island and sure sometimes the unknown is the best surprise. Looks as though you got yourself another good crew in Louis. Yes, that Indonesian street food what I remember when I was there 12 years ago was fantastic. I grew up with Indonesian chicken curry and other foods rice wrapped in banana leaves which was a meal in itself. Maybe you will get to Labuan Bajo. Have a great sail to Komodo. Great to see the sailing video's again catch you next week.
