This is the closest to perfect audio interface that I've ever used for recording game audio from the PS5 WHILE having one microphone be used for commentary and game chat! I am 😵 *NOTE* There is a known on-going issue with the PS5 audio sounding staticy/echoey when paired with CasterDuo. I will update this comment if anything changes regarding this problem.
Just wanna say I really appreciate your videos, man. I’m a Mac user and you have helped me immensely with my setup. It’s really hard to find good Mac tutorials for streaming, and I’d be lost without your content. Always looking forward to your uploads. Thanks! 🙏
Is anyone having issues with plugging the PS5 into the usb-c slot in the Rodecaster? I hear a weird scratchy filter every other minute. It sounds really clear and good for a minute but it gets kinda scratchy and it goes back and forth from good audio to bad. I took off processing. I also tried different cables. I have no idea why I get the weird sound.
Don’t you get the distortion that everyone else gets by people have been reporting? I have this setup and you CAN’T plug a USB-C from the PS5 to the Rodecaster Duo without getting audio distortions.
Yeah, I've been running into the issue. Thought it may have been a one off, but I've tested multiple more times after uploading this video and it keeps coming back. I've reached out to my contact to see if there's a timeline or fix coming soon. My hope is that Rode and PS5 team can work together to make it work as designed.
@@MidnightManended up returning my Duo and getting the Rode Streamer X just to fix this. I tried multiple adapters and workarounds before I gave up though.
Can u have different dials for game audio, music, system, and mic like go xlr? I play COD and sometimes want to lower discord while having my game audio stay at a higher level
I've had the rodecast duo for like 4 months paired with a shure mv7plus. I really only play with friends online while using discord. I cannot get them to hear the sound board when I hit a button. Does this have to do with mixminus?
This is very cool! Especially for an new streamer but my only issue is all of the crazy colors on the Duo buttons. It looks like something from Fischer-Price. I was also expecting a bit more explanation of the streaming setup but you do have other videos that cover that. Thanks for the video.
@@MidnightMan you try Rodes Unify software? Better than Elgatos Wave Link, as you can record audio and edit it. Works for more virtual channels till the new firmware gets released 😊
How do you like it so far? I just order one today. But i have seen a lot of bad reviews when plug the ps5 to it and party chat. People fight with the volume game and also the mic. Some other says catch a lot of noise sound from the ps5. Any issues experience so far????
You must have only had the PS5 plugged in to the RodeCaster for a few minutes, cause if you leave it connected for longer than that you will get an nasty audio squelching sound that renders using the ps5 and RodeCaster together useless. Even Rode claims they are not compatible together. I haven't been able to find a work around
Does the plug and play setup work with the first rodecaster? I assume it's the same but there's always some microscopic piece that makes things impossible in older setups.
Tired many cables even the official rode ones makes no difference its a well documented issue with rode since no other device has the issue its a rode device issue
Can you make an in depth video about connecting the Rode podcaster duo to the ps5? I’m having a hard time hearing the game audio and my discord at the same time
With the headphones being plugged into the CasterDuo, are you able to hear all the audio that's going into it? Like your mic audio, the gameplay audio, and stream audio? I know you for sure answered this already, but i just want to know for certain that I should get this type of setup when i start streaming next week.
Nvm i found those answers after rewatching the video for the 4th time LOL. Thank you so much for these types of videos, i've been watching so many of your videos over these past 2 months so i can get all the knowledge i can before i start my first stream. Nervous but excited.
I have watched many of your videos to help my own streaming setup but it’s still a struggle. I was wondering if there’s a way to talk to you one on one?
Great video bro 😎 solid detail review and explaination, yeah those audio interface go hard and produce tons of features. Nice editing skills & relaxing background music also. And that picture you had on the wall in the background above the bed was fire 🔥 keep up the great work, God Bless 😇 Happy Holidays 🫡
@midnightman PLEASE help me with these questions if you (or anyone can) 1) In regards to using a capture card to a laptop. I seen a video where you said the USB C cable should be directly plugged into your computer/laptop with no USB hub in between. BUT my laptop only has 2 USB C ports . And I need 1 for my charger to keep my laptop charged while streaming/recording. And then also have to plug in a mic or audio interface . So a USB hub will be needed. Am I going to have to buy a new laptop/computer or what’s a way around this. Cause it makes sense to have the capture card plugged right into your computer. It’s a DELL XPS 13 2n1 16gb ram (not even sure if it’s capable of streaming/recording) 2) I have a RODECASTER PRO (basically an older model of what you have in the video) I am going to use my XLR mic with that to talk to my stream BUT my question is , is there a way for me to play music for my stream (and also me) through my interface to OBS. With using the volume fader on the RODECASTER PRO to control the volume . Loving all the content you make! Been watching a lot of your videos lately
I just realized I can probably just Bluetooth my phone to the RODECASTER PRO. So disregard that question. I basically have the same setup as you. The EVGA capture card is gonna be delivered today. I have the PS5 and a laptop with the RODECASTER PRO . So I’m assuming I’ll be able to get it all set up and running. Would you be able to do a EVGA set up vid or RU-vid short?
This is the only video I've seen that talks about this and it's a big plus for the rodecaster, I'm deciding between the rodecaster and the mackie dlz creator xs, and this is probably the game changer I was looking for. On the other hand, tremendous visual quality of the video, congratulations man!
I had the rode caster 2 and was very happy when i saw it has 2 usb i connected directly to my ps5 and it recognize it.....after 5 or 10 min it makes a terrible sound which even rode support was able to help me. this is the first time i see it works....maybe a new firmware was released and is fixed...no idea. now i just bought the Mackie DLZ because i saw it has NDI audio which im still trying to figure it out because don't work at all on my device.
Love your channel and ALL your content its helped me alot 👌 if you're ever looking for a small content creator to sponsor im nominating myself with this comment 😅🙏
@@MidnightMan I do not believe that this is the case. When talking with Rode customer support they seem to be pushing the blame to Sony and the way they handle audio through USB.
@@MidnightMan yeah you need to use it more than 20 min before you get audio distorsion, its a well know issues with these, thats why no one uses the USB direct connection.
@@haies09 not not a problem with cable, they just don't support the PS5 this is from RODE support:- Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify, the distortion issue that you have described is the issue that causes the PS5 not to be compatible. From what we have seen the PS5 uses older USB standards and has trouble with newer interfaces. The PlayStation 5 doesn't sync to USB devices in a typical manner and ends up preventing many USB audio devices from working as intended. I'm afraid I have not heard of any updates regarding PlayStation 5 compatibility with the RØDECaster Pro II at this point in time. I hope this helps clarify, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.
