The ultimate 4wd drag truck chassis is finally complete! (well, almost). This time, we get the Funkhouser anti-roll bar installed out back along with the upper shock mounts, re-install the fuel tank, plus get the axle back underneath the truck.
Check out Solder Stick for your wiring needs, and use code "LT20" to save 20% off your order

That could work - would be like a japanese 'Shou Sugi Ban' finish. I also thought LT could paint the paneling white which would match the colour and 'texture' of the desk base.

Take your layer feed welder and bring it over there and run the argon gas in the tank until that's all that's in there is argon gas leave it running there for about 10 minutes before you start welding to make sure there is no fuses or oxygen in there to ignite the fumes😊

@@coolHandLuke5150 there's no reason to back purge aluminum. No reason to use post flow on aluminum either. Aluminum isnt reactive like stainless, titanium or even chrome moly, you can remove the shielding gas as soon as you stop welding and it wont change anything.

Might I suggest, after you have rinsed out the tank, run air through it to blow out fumes, and cap off filler neck: try connecting a hose from regulator hooked to argon tank and flow argon into the tank, similar to how you would purge and flow argon when building headers . Once you are confident that you have purged oxygen (and gas fumes) from gas tank, you can take a MAP or propane torch and hold the flame near the crack on the outside. If the gas coming from the crack extinguishes the torch, then you no longer have flammable gas inside the tank. If a flame comes from the gas escaping the tank, then keep the argon flowing until that flame extinguishes. As long as the tank has positive pressure of argon flowing outward from the crack, the flame will not travel into the tank and explode. If you don't get a flame, you should be safe to weld. This is a similar technique to how pipe fitter weld live oil lines on construction sites.

Dont know what cam you picked up, but Richard Holdener did a zz502 cam in an 8.1 and picked up i believe 50 hp NA. So at 14 psi that would be another 100 for you. So there is a starting point for what you can potentially make with a cam.
@timothycarey3883

@@timothycarey3883 a cam is going to do what a cam does. "Turbo cams" aren't a thing any more. Back when turbos were less efficient they sort of helped by changing lsa. Todays turbos dont care. The next tank you weld on unless you want to wash it out you don't need to use water to disarm you might say the old fumes. I have found out the best way to repair a leaking tank is to get a vehicle and a piece of stick hose or a radiator hose that fits the tailpipe and the gas fill neck. Put the pipe on the tailpipe and the gas fill and start the engine and let it run until you feel the tank getting hot. The hot exhaust gasses will neutralize the gas vapors and you can take care of business without having to worry about cleaning the water out of the tank. Ask around if you don't believe me, I would never tell anyone something that would get them hurt. I'm curious as to what your truck does.

He said he has kryptonite death grip tie rods. They are awesome, but we haven't seen them yet. Seriously, in spite of corporate jackassery, those are the best adjusting tierods I've ever used. Smooth accurate and massive, bigger then the CV axle shaft. Personally I've been putting up with kryptonite and the "military intelligence" re-engineered suspension because once installed it really is the strongest stuff I've found. Their people suck, but the product is beyond compare.
