Have you ever wondered what would be the ultimate Bible? Then check this out! 2 of my favourites packed into one great sized Bible from Church Bible Publishers. BUY THIS BIBLE FROM THE KJV STORE ONLINE www.thekjvstor...
Excellent video. I used a KJV Thompson Chain Reference Bible in the middle 1980s and throughout the 1990s, but lost it and never replaced it until now. I just turned 58 and thought I'd treat myself to a KJV Thompson Chain for my birthday after viewing your video.
I also just purchased a CBP handsome Thompson Chain for travel. Not only is the binding better than the genuine leather Kirkbride, but the gold gliding is much better. Thanks again!
One thing I like the most about RU-vid, is watching these King James Bible reviews. And I have to say Sir, "great job I really enjoyed this style of Bible review".
What's your preference to the KJV cambridge and NRSV Popular Text edition cambridge, Thompson chain reference bible your views please? Also is the KJV Thompson chain reference bible a daily bible, to use daily and take to church etc? I have the Kirkbride Thompson chain reference bible and the poplar Text Bible nrsv bible from cambridge. I am having a hard time selecting a day to day use bible ultimate daily bible use. I do like British printed bible as I'm in England, but I guess it was not British in the beginning of bible. So I keep an open mind with stuff. Hope you are well and safe. Peace and all good Sebastian
I'm so excited! Thanks for sharing. I had a Thompson that I loved but it fell apart really quickly. I've been wanting to get a CBP Bible, but getting them both together would be perfect!
You can see the marks after you bent it also in the gutter it’s crest , I like the Thomson chain reference but have you looked at the ESV heirloom study Bible by Crossway a fantastic study Bible .
I have the same Thompson and there is a lot of ghosting. Font is kind of busy and printing could be darker. Some pages are hard to read because of ghosting - eg pg 1663 and 1665. You’ll also find a lot of small printing defects - e.g., the ‘and’ in 1 John 5:7 has a white dot in the ‘a’, etc. Fundamentally, the pages are too thin and the print is too light.
I'm very partial to Cambridge Bible's because they where the original printer of the kjv but I'm really liking this Bible. Is it the best Bible you had so far or is it the best Thompson? Thanks many blessings
kchilz32 I think for an all round Bible it’s very hard to go past the Thompson so in that regard it’s my favourite, however my most used would be the Cambridge Concord because of its size and ease to carry around. Every time I study or prepare sermons though it’s always the Thompson
David Maxfield I just ordered the cbp limited edition Thompson chain bible can't wait till it gets here. I will also be buying a Cambridge bible down the road as well but couldn't let the limited edition Thompson pass by.
Hi, good video. I have had a Jack Hayford Spirit filled Thompson Chain Ref. Bible for the last 20 yrs. I would recommend one before 1998 because they went to cheaper paper after that. The older ones are pricey but worth the money. Also they are hard to find in good shape because of the demand for them. I like the Cambridge Bibles also because of the quality.
Ray getoutdoors, you’re right, I just bought a Kirkbride made TCR, in the “genuine leather”, and it’s not a very well made bible to be honest. The paper is cheap, and the “Capri grain leather” looks and feels like bonded leather. Oh well. Having said that, the content is awesome, as David shows. It’s hard to go back to a regular reference bible after using one.
First, thank you for your wonderful videos. I came across you Sunday as I was online Bible shopping. I’ve been a believer for many years but had never heard of a Thompson Chain Reference Bible and I settled on ordering one for all the reasons you cited. My confusion however has been driven by which translation to use as this will be my go to Bible since it has so much content. I grew up with the KJV and as I got older I transitioned to the NKJV and eventually the NIV. The changes were always sparked by readability and until this week I never knew there was potentially so much controversy in what translations may be more accurate. I purchased my TCR in ESV and now I am wondering, after reading so many articles online, if I made this choice in error. I agree wholeheartedly that one must keep many different Bibles about to really dig deeper and have all the tools necessary. You have the CBP in the AKJV here and now I’m just curious as to your input on the differences in translations and of the two, which would aide me more as I study. Many thanks again for all you do brother.
Hey brother, thanks for your comment. For in depth study of the Bible I always use the KJV. It is the most accurate and I haven’t yet been able to find legitimate errors in it. Many have tried to say there are, however when you study it through from the Greek and Hebrew I’ve often found these accusations to be false and uniformed and although I have tried myself I haven’t yet been able to prove it wrong in any area. As for others though I have. You’ll notice in Genesis 2:14 it names one of the rivers Hiddikell as does the NKJV but many new versions change that to I think “Euphrates” or “Tigris” but when you study it through the hiddekell is a completely different river than both of those leaving room for people to fall into error with the new versions. That being said however I have found many of the new versions to give good revelations by just reading them as you would any other book and I still sometimes use my ESV or MEV for exactly that but when it comes to theology and in depth study it’s KJV Zoe KJVER for me.
David Maxfield this is the one I ordered last night. Very few left. www.churchbiblepublishers.com/product/limited-edition-midsize-thompson-chain-reference-bible/
If I bought a CBP bible I wouldn't to through their web site . On my computer it says their web site is not secure.I won't put my credit card # on a web site that's not secure. The KJV store sells their bibles and it's secure
Wiley Howell I thought the same. But, when ordering from CBP the site takes you to PayPal. Also, CPB website is redesigned. I hope this helps. Stay blessed 🙏🏻
