Have you ever considered purchasing a Bitcoin ASIC Miner as a Home Crypto Miner? Is it on your gameplan for "down the road"? Correction in Video: I had a Goldshell HS-Box Powered off at the End connected to the same PDU. So my calculations where off by 300 Watts. So the S19J Pro did infact use 3068 watts as advertised!

Great 👍 content, I remember back in 2017 when I first setup my very first BTC miners, S9 there was no video or anything, the ASIC mining Community did not really exist, ASIC has always been simple just set it and forget it, the unit reboot them self when needed, protect them self for over heating etc.. you just need to provide power and walk away! It’s been an awesome experience directly mining BTC since 2017, truly nice to see a Community starting to be built around ASIC 👍

Let's be real, as cool as ASIC mining looks, 95% of the average at home miners cannot afford these. The entry price point for equipment is out of reach and the energy demand, heat and noise are too much for the average at home miner. I wish I could afford these and had the infrastructure in place to runs them. Oh well. Great video as always.

Yeah, 10k (ish) for costs, and probably 200 per month in electricity is not easy to swallow for many people. You gotta be willing to accept it'll take many years to make a profit. Kind of a shame, man I miss the gpu mining Bitcoin days. But on the bright side at least people can still run these at home and Bitcoin mining isn't strictly a "dedicated facility" thing.

I loved your video! Thanks for making our lives so much easier. We are in the process of creating a rack for our antminers and have a spare industrial chiller on the side. I just have one question. How much heat do the dissipate? How strong of a chiller do I need for 10ish miners? Is there a formula for calculating? Thanks ahead. Keep up the good work!

Is just having one of these profitable? Does it cover its own electric cost? Also, How do I check what amperage my 240v outlet is, is there a meter for that? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm not knowledgeable in electricity or these rigs. But I really want to get into this.
@GrantBaumgart

I setup 2 of these myself a few weeks ago, that room is going to get warm, I'm also worried about all that heat dumping right on your PDU. keep an eye on it, maybe put it on the bottom shelf for the coolest air and nothing behind it. The fans where at 99% after 1 hour 😧
@TheHobbyistMiner
@TheHobbyistMiner 2 года назад
This was short term. The unit is out in my garage now until the Shed is built. Thanks though! I had the concern about the PDU as well. Good eye!

Thats also the reason your drawing more than the standard power, the fans going full speed draws alot more.

can do a hive on set up? If Im on Hive, using Poolin, shouldnt the hash rate from hive show up on the Poolin dashboard?
@TheHobbyistMiner
@TheHobbyistMiner Год назад
So you can put your S19J Pro on the HIVEOS Firmware yes. You can also add HIVEOS ASIC HUB to get your Bitmain to show up in HIVEOS for monitoring. In both situations you can mine to Poolin and your hashrate will showup on Poolin as it's your pool.
