For me F&B wins hands down. Every item on the plate outshines the other. Don’t laugh but I’ve never even heard of a calzone till now! I like the look of it. Thanks for this one combo king. 👍
Hello, EIE Wow, Frankie and Benny's calzone was amazingly delicious. The bolognase sauce looked super. The garlic butter dough and salad had me craving. Pizza Express looked OK, but just that. Thank you for a great video. it is always appreciated 😊😊
F&B, The presentation of the meal was excellent, not just greens on the plate. Looked better than the PE one, but wouldnt turn either down! Thank you xx
Hi from super-sunny Los Angeles 🙋♀️ You surprised me! At Pizza Express, I really thought you would stuff the salad greens into the calzone, pick it up and eat it sandwich style! F&B was deffie the vote grabber today!
I agree. Both looked good, but I liked the look of the Frankie offering and the dip probably made this. I'll have to try something similar soon. I might go with a mild chilli though.
Lovely to see you, a Calzone is a new one on me ! The pizza express Calzone was well presented & i liked the added bacon, the side salad would benefit from having sliced red onion & grated carrot & beetroot added. Very good recommendation with the blood orange san pellegrino this is one of my favourite soft drinks. The Frankie & Benny's Calzone was well presented too! Loved the filling with this & the additional bolognese sauce was lovely, overall this was the better of the 2 meals & more substantial too, so this is the winner for me ! I enjoy eating out & will definitely try a Calzone if seen on the menu. Thank you for sharing this great review, take care 💜
The second joint wins because they gave you a knife that can cut through the food you ordered. Deep-fried panzerotti over baked calzone for me every time though; can't beat the combination of crispy dough and the oozing melted cheese inside!
Nduja originates from Spain not Italy. Calzone is pronounced Calzoney. F&B's for me too, cheaper and more care on the plate. I don't consider opening a supermarket bag of rocket and dumping leaves on a plate with no dressing a salad. F&B far superior. And the Calzone looked well made shaped like a Cornish Pasty.
It's Cal-zone-a. You need to go to a proper good independent Italian restaurant to get a decent one. And you wouldn't get all that other stuff on the plate to try and make it look bigger than it is.
Looks great! The F&B one looks more filling. Do you get permission to film before you go in? I just recognised a few of the venues and live near so was curious. Nice to see you are local to me :)
I think the second was more substantial and could keep you going for a few days. The first was lighter, especially with all that greenery-which I would have loved.
It's controversial, but I'd prob prefer Pizza Express. Am not really a dough person, or much carbs in general, but in the past, I always enjoyed that precise meal at Pizza Express ~ & I still love rocket salad. F&B's has never appealed to me, but the one here looked clean & calm
Never really understood calzone , it's basically a pizza pasty 🤣 Oddly pizza is finger food but the correct way to eat a calzone is with a knife and fork so maybe food for those that don't like to get messy 😁 Good comparison but not sure I'd pay those prices.
F & B definitely was the better one. With extra sauce and a proper side salad as well, not to mention the calzone looked properly filled. The pizza express one looked a bit sad next to it, with a lack of filling and just some rocket and dressing that looked like an afterthought to make it look like there was more to the meal. When you get side salads like that, i think they don't expect you to actually eat it. It's just there for presentation and a bit of a waste of food.
Don't know for definite but think it's pronounced calzonee. Enjoyed your video but I'm unconvinced by either destination. Used to love pizza but struggle to get interested in them now, in fact, the very thought of them acts as a great appetite suppressor 😢😢
Considering Pizza Express charge so much, they need to up their game considerably as they are no longer the best, that sorry excuse of a salad said it all really!!!
it is just a pity it can not be weighed. size is hard to judge on screen the thing comes it may have less in that than what is put on a pizza pepperoni is in aldi for 99p a pack. so it is cheap. for pizza express being £20.20. its more than getting a steak. and how many take away pizzas at your local can you buy. you could get 4 Wetherspoons chicken strip burgers and chips and a drink (my local £4.91) it seem a big bit of a rip off paying over £20 for just a pizza for one person.. when you are really just having a sandwich. how can this be worth £20.20 or £18.30 it is easy for frankies since its almost £2 cheaper. But still think its too much money for what you are getting
Pizza express not a real calzone. A proper one Needs ricotta and mozz and lots! Where is the marinara sauce? The orange drink looks good though. Fand b same. Looks like a stuffed pizza not a calzone. At least you get a dressed salad and bolognese dip.
