In episode 49 of Friends Green Porsche Prep Book, we introduce the restoration of our classic Porsche 911 and show it in its stripped down form. - Music credit: Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio.
Great to see the work being carried out. Always wondered where Dan had gone; great to see he's still in the Porsche business. Love the car but already shows the money pit that even the best looking air cooled cars can become. Can't wait to see more videos of the restoration. Going to be awesome when it's completed.
I'm curious as to why there is a hole in the floor under the frunk; later cars seem to have solid body panel here through the chassis, unless I'm wrong?
Guards Red is probably the most popular colour especially on the 80,s 911, and wouldn’t be right to change it on such a lovely example. If you didn’t care, and wonted to make it more unusual then I would have a hard choice between Mexico Blue, Oak Green, or even Rubstone.
You shouldn’t put a new inner wing on. That’s nuts. Just repair that top bit of metal like we all do. That way you can keep the stickers on it etc. My 88 has had £70k spent on it with metal by OPC Cambridge. Will be at classics at the castle if you want to inspect.
Such a nice original example it seems a shame to paint it, my lower wing on my targa is the same, you can’t see it with the covers on. Will follow this with interest.
