When I first started Naraka, I loved the dual blades and hated the spear and staff but after I picked up Valda Cui and realized her weapon was the spear, I decided to get used to it. Now I love the spear and staff way more than dual blades, they're just so perfect.
I'm the same, I started playing Naraka 10 days ago, and I mainly rock dual blades, but would love to pick up spear and staff. Could you provide me with tips and tricks you learned on your way ? I mainly play Tessa, Zai or Matari depending how I feel for that game :) Thanks !
@@MrThemneboss The spear and staff make people parry happy so it's good to learn combos with them and it's mainly because of the crowd control when the perfect focus attack lands, they also have a lunge which is good for forcing people to parry even if they're far away and because of it's reach you can still catch them, because it has 2 slow hits as well if they try to dodge the second hit will land and you can get a free combo. You can learn combos and re stands with them to get an edge but they're straight forward
true, spear is very strong. just using 2 horizontal clicks, depending on terrain of course, can lock most beginner in place. i was a victim of that tactic.
I kinda wish ranged weapons were a hard counter to grappling. Like knock them out of the air, especially in trios when you get chained grappled with more coordinated teams. I think it would add another layer of combat on top of nerfing chain grappling indirectly. Especially with a repeater bow when you have multiple people grappling you, it'll just knock them out of the air if you react quick enough giving you more escape options and outplays. It just feels like grappling doesn't have enough diminishing returns versus the melee style combat where each option has some form of counter to it. I dunno maybe it's a stupid idea.
Nah its a great idea. I hate been killed without even being able to put up a fight. Knocking ppl out of the air is great since You can only do it if you know it's coming. Only thing ill add is that knocking them out of the air should stun them for a really short time. Just enough so you cant grapple to them and get an insane advantage with chain stuns.
@@shadower2763 yeah, it's the worst feeling. Lol just sitting there being grappled to death. Facerolling on your keyboard trying to break free only to feel the cold and indiscriminate embrace of death. Give me a fighting chance damn it! But yeah, would be dope to have ranged weapons to be a hard counter grappling and that small cc immunity window you mentioned would be a solid way to balance it. I'm not familiar with this dev company so I'm not sure how receptive they are to player feedback.
Great video man, can’t wait to start playing tonight! I am looking for a character with a high skill cap that has a lot of outplay potential, but also a solid neutral. Any recommendations? Thanks again!
@@chineseboyification thank you, I am very experienced as a competitive player so I’m no stranger to putting in work to get good. I will look into this character and see what I can discover.
I downloaded naraka recently and I was wondering why they keep having attack combo without 3rd focus attack, I tried to focus on parry but every time they did 2 attacks they didn't follow up with focus attack So, I say this guide is very helpful, I'll try to practice continuous combos :')
On PS. Confused as to how you do “horizontal or vertical basic attacks”. Like how do I switch from one to the other? Does it matter which direction it goes?
I've swapped between off and on and it really just depends on what you wanna do. I've found that in chaotic fights where you wanna focus on one particular enemy, off is better. If it's a 1v1 and you're tryna combo, then on is better. I've evolved my understanding of it since I made the video. It's mostly a preference thing
well, man, I have played this game for one month, you still got a lot of stuff to teach. For example, crunch cancel basic attack and suddenly using block, hold left/right mouse 0.5s and press shift to fast moving(really fast), also try to make people think that you are using focus, but actually u shift and using basic attack… so on! Man, also, some hero introduce are wrong, for example, at high rank solo, tianhai just using ultimate to heal himself, they always turn back quickly after they become the giant since weapon like arrow can easily shot them down. Tianhai’s true ability is F, which can block focus attack, and made ur weapon dropped, so while battle with tianhai u need fake using focus first and made him using F, and shift plus basic to win… so on, man, if u want know more, we can talk more about this game, at least from this video, u still got a lot to learn
Believe me, I cut out a lot of more advanced tech and nuanced info to save on time because I didn't want the video to be 30 minutes long. All in due time, and like you said, I've only played in the one beta before release, so I'm still giving myself time to learn all the little advanced things before I feel comfortable teaching them. Think of it like this: you're not going to learn all of quantum mechanics in one course, you're going to take multiple courses. This video is one course in the subject of Naraka and more of an intro course at that 😉
Ye, I strongly agree with what u said. I really love ur video. It’s the best tutorial for Naraka I’ve seen until now from game actually released internationally. Although a lot of advanced thing are really common now in Asian server, but I’m now in NA server, there are still many people do not know even a little advanced skill, so I really look forward to see ur next course man, u are the only NA players life saver!
9:19 dagger dash and the use of abyssal aura(souljade) are the two best ways to use the dagger. dagger dash is performing a dash after a dagger attack and then if you left click during the dagger dash you perform a lunge attack switching from golden focus(defense) to blue focus(attack). abyssal aura grants the dagger one of the most hitting combos in the game(aside from, of course, nezha's might, the spear combo and the katana souljade charged attack). it is used by performing a vertical charged strike and whe you release you throw the dagger, hitting twice, it comes back, hitting once or twice i forget, and stab, hitting once. it also staggers on every hit and can be combo'd into a dagger dash and follow up.
That means the playerbase is learning combos lol. I'm going to be posting guides on how to do all this stuff, so hopefully that'll help. Naraka can be a difficult game to get into at first, but keep at it
Tarka ji for top professional players, Tianhai for regular competitive players, Matari and Kurumi is more friendly relatively for new players, viper ning, temulch and yotohime is relatively weak to me. Just some suggestions for new players
Thanks for the sweet video. You deserve my like and sub. Hope I won't meet you on the Battlefield. This is my first MMO Style BR... not sure if I can learn the basics tonight :)
I don’t understand why my console makes this game feel unplayable and actually not able to play with my brother on pc. My console runs games 4x as big with less of a problem
if you are still watching, why not drop a like? Now the like button feels less than it was now that the dislike button is there. Not saying I would dislike the video - its actually super useful. Just now the request from the creator to "like" the video holds a different weight than before - with the dislike button
Is it worth using lock on at all? I have noticed a lot of people not using it, but when I use it I tend to hit my attacks more often. What do you think about it?
11:24 much like moonbane(apparently appers afer 2500+ games) it has yet to appear. you can test in in some tutorials, and its kinda clunky BUT if you get hit with it you are staggered until the end of time(attacks are performed by holding click)
Anyone having a problem logging into the game? I got the game gifted to me through their website but when I open the game and try to login through the gmail option it either just says Error Client or invalid login even tho it's the right email. Tried googling it and using customer support but no luck on either
@@loveLife-my9rm You definitely right bro I came to that very same conclusion when I won my second game I was like wait a minute these motherfuckers are bots.
lol all of this applies to solos. Play anything above solos and you will just get spam stunned until you alt F4 from being tired of it all. The game has no group balance at all and there is nothing you can do to get out of a tight spot effectively. There are no 'comeback plays' as you will sit there and get juggled over and over.
@@OSKGaming123 every training video out there is filmed in 1's and the training arena. Everyone knows there is nothing you can do if you are trying to fight a stack. Balance in this game is insanely poor, not to mention you can change your luck stat. XD
@@Lostmango33 they do if this person thinks it's gonna be more famous then COD/APEX. Fat chance this game hits that level popularity. Apex has double the regular players and that is only the steam player base lol
Depending on your server, you may have a few sweats here and there. It's all about learning the flow of battle, and the best way to learn is to either drop into hot spots, or grab a friend and do some 1v1's. I'd also recommend watching guides like this one. At the end of the day, it's a difficult game, and will take some getting used to, but you'll feel like a god once you master it
