Honestly, after watching a handful of Naraka videos I'm blown away with how many combos and potential there is for growth, I knew timing is important for strikes and counters but had no idea about knock-ups and other tricks. been playing for 20 hours and plan to spend most of my time on this game. Seems the skill payout is worth the time investing.
Since this game has really good 1v1 combat too. I hope they implement a 1 v.s. 1 Arena online. Where it is just a tiny gladiator like colosseum arena with just 2 people duking it out.
Naraka is the only BR where I feel I actually have a chance at winning. I’m terrible with shooters. I’ve been playing console my whole life, so it’s hard for me to transition comfortably to mouse
I have been playing with xbox controller since the first xbox came up with Halo , I wanted to try M & K but no success it's really hard ,then I tried mouse and controller combo and it worked perfectly, I use xbox elite controller with REWASD for mapping buttons and G600 mouse
@@Velossitee you could try searching my steam i don’t really play those type of games. I learned this at a young age playing at ps1 then getting a fever afterwards. Aaand for fck sake im not paid or anything i just replied coz i felt this guy happiness being able to play battle royale. I pity you making fun of simple things like this, I think your mother didn’t love you enough 🙂
All my buddies are godlike in FPS shooters like warzone and Apex. I'm ass. Naraka is the only game I feel like I can compete with on a competitive level with them. Luckily they're ass at Naraka haha
For those that are revisiting the game and stumble on the video naraka combat to keep it brief is a fighting game. Rock paper scissors are just explaining/justifying how an interaction was won in the game. High intensity rock paper scissors. Take mechanics slow and its even better if you have a buddy to spar with
#1 is something I hate. If you're going to have a button in your game for quick counters, make it actually function as a quick counter, don't make it a noob trap that functions worse than other counters.
Never in my life I had to press both mouse buttons at the same time, it feels weird for me :( I hope they fix the quick counter at some point... good vid btw, keep it up.
Yo thank you for this! I just started playing on Xbox as Viper & noticed I’m mainly seeing Yoto Hime & Tianhai with a Greatsword; & as frustrating & annoying as it is, I am determined to counter & defeat these players which is how I found your video. It has been very helpful because I am-ahem ‘scuse me- I used to be the person who would try to grapple mid fight & would rage at the fact that I couldn’t escape & sometimes end up as the monkey in the middle of the pocket 😭😭😭. But thanks to your guide I know what to do know & yes I took quick counter off. I didn’t know what it was called but I hated using it because it would work against what I was trying to do. But again this is a top tier video & I appreciate your time, wisdom, & effort you put into this. Now off to slay some souls😈
quick list for people who don't want to watch an 11 minute video to see if this pertains to them: 1 - using quick counter keybind (lmb+rmb counter can counter at times that the keybind cannot) 2 - using grappling hook to try to flee mid-combat (score a knockdown or gain advantage before you do so, a decent player will not let you just run away in neutral) 3 - not utilizing movement options in combat, being too one-dimensional (you can and should approach in three dimensions because it's much harder to reach to) 4 - not utilizing movement options in general. (osk recommends learning and using focus cancel and attacking to maintain grapple momentum if you don't already use these) 5 - spamming "abilities" (actually referring to attack decisions and is similar to #3, though personally i feel that spam hate is undeserved: if your opponent spams rock then the right answer is to spam paper.) 6 - not using uppercut/knockdown combos (you can find plenty of videos on combos, a decent combo that uses an uppercut is going to do nearly 4x the damage of a basic 1-2 combo and it's all guaranteed damage, you just have to learn to do it) 7 - rushing into battle. (the most consistent way to place high in most battle royales is to play safe, avoid taking fights/blowing resources, and watch carefully for the right time to actually go in. think about risk vs reward.) 8 - wrong souljades. (take the 5 minutes in practice mode to look at what the weapon souljades do. also ties in with #7: playing safe also means taking safe souljades like health/melee res) 9 - not using the shop to upgrade bag/souljade/weapon storage. 10 - not using characters efficiently (don't be the yotohime simp who has no idea how to use yotohime.)
Just got into this game since it just became available on ps, and I have to say it's like playing mortal Kombat, but in order to fight you have to know all the buttons used in a fatality to actually fight 😂 The combos, the watching enemies and predicting their charge, the countering, grappling, different weapons having different combos, etc. It is actually pretty mind boggling. But I do like the aesthetic, so I guess that overrules all of my issues with it lol 😅
My biggest mistake was smashing all the attack buttons when it is more about to calm down and get the timing right. The more time I take, the more success I have in not getting my ass slapped. Thanks for the upload! Your videos and your channel are super helpful to me.
Pls make in depth weapon specific guides with full combos explained and all. All the current ones on YT aren't very good, but you seem to know what you're doing and know what you're talking about. Thx mate 👍
Another Banger!!! Damn so much mistakes I know I made all of them lol. But a few I have corrected thank you so much 😊 your content is such an inspiration!!
What ppl also need to realize with the focus attack cancel movement u need atleast lvl 20+ to have decent glyphs so u get the most out of it...I tried this technique very early on and got like 1-2 movements maybe max cuz the energy meter is so low/slow early on
In fact, I am thinking about using the shift key to dodge. My favorite is to use the arrow keys twice to dodge. Such as WW SS AA DD. Unfortunately, the current game does not support such changes. Using the shift key to dodge in the current battle often makes me go in the wrong direction.
Thanks just got Top 1 in solos by learning your spear and dagger guide. I stopped spamming and instead just dodge normal attack the enemy and varried my moves with vertical and horizontal strikes to throw off the enemy's parry timing.
Hey, nice vid. The only point that i'd argue about is the shop usage; by default you have pretty small storage capacity, you can't hold too many items. To stay consistent you'll need a lot of heals and grapples cuz you eat them up in seconds in a longer fight; a few percent extra dmg/ resist helps but with decent mechanics in !most! fights it doesn't change on the outcome, so I'd go; Item bag>Souljade>Item bag in early game
Late to the party, but I have a good tip for beginners about spamming abilities. Sometimes you can watch and observe how your enemy will try and predict your movement. Which is a good opportunity to just catch them off guard with the classic "repeat the same thing" like repeating Dual Blade charges or heartstopper with the spear. Some people confuse themselves by trying to predict a mixup of your own when you're really just doing the same thing two times, effectively killing them by doing so. This works especially well in extended combat, when you cancel your focus attacks and use more advanced techniques, only to return to the basic stuff and "spamming". Edit: Perfectly displayed @7:21
I call Focus Cancelling "Focus Dash", cancelling is more accurate, dash sounds slicker. I'll add that you should always keep an open weapon slot in your bag to steal your opponent's weapon after parrying. Watching you parry that gold greatsword 3 times and then let him pick it back up had me screaming lol. I would also mention that there are a couple things on this list that are specifically aimed at solos and it might be a bit different in trios - particularly shopping, since you're splitting resources, and because of the way team fights work, you will often need to buy armor pots. I usually prioritize having at least 2 or 3 stacks of pots, and that usually means spending a bit of money, depending whether we drop hot or not. Lastly - NOOBS, this is VERY important! CHANGE YOUR CONTEXTUAL ACTIONS TO HOLD. I see a ton of players struggle with the parkour, and although it is a bit clunky at times and needs work, part of the reason is that you're not using HOLD. Instead of your character automatically clinging to everything when you tap jump and getting stuck on trees and random poles and fences, if you set it to hold, your character will only perform climbing actions if you hold jump.
This was a really good one. I've been using your videos for a while, and this served as an, "ok, I actively practice all of these techniques and I'm ready to genuinely start practicing" kinda benchmark. I didn't wanna start grinding 20+games a day and engraim bad habits, but I think I'm good now.
@@thanhtuan1353 i can never get the timing right either. Kind of why I liked using the greatsword since i do clash a lot and ends up dealing a lot of damage if it hits. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But like OSK mentioned setting the hotkey for parry would more than likely help carry out the parries.
I think back then Shroud added something in this lines: 'Okay, before you start quoting me.. It's easy game to start with but it's very difficult to master it. There's a lot to the combat in this game.'
I’m having difficulty with this! In the heat of battle I get jumbled up! It is indeed a fun game for its mechanics but man, I can get 1 hit combo/ dead, biggest take away from this that ima implement is not using counter so much, sometimes hit it not realizing. Again…. Heat of battle… 😅 getting that scatter brain. Great tips for sure, thank you for this! 🎉
One tip I found when grappling, if you jump and are aiming where you want to go you can chain the grapple as much as you want. Don't know if it works when you charge, definitely will try. Thanks for the hints.
I have a question... why do people seem to not care about the accusations of this game....? they say that they sell your data to a 3rd party and stuff... so wtf, I'm confused...
All games. All apps. All websites. Everyone sells your data. Why? Because people allow them to. They don't care or don't read to care. South Park did an episode on this phenomenon and mixed it with the Human centipede. It's a well written and funny episode that explains all this.
First thing I did was get a group together for a private bloodbath match and we just practiced the controls to learn the different movesets. Horizontals, Verticals, and crouching Verticals
I hate battle royale games but just got this on console and I'm enjoying it more than I expected I've even won 2 games countless trio's and even finish top 5 most games don't know how long it will last but highly recommend this title
Top mentioned mistakes (my opinion): being a hammer and not knowing your skills (I'm still learning). Also would totally subscribe if I didn't get way too many notifications lol but totally worth a like or 3
Yeah only tip idk if ill follow is not charging fights xD but thank you all the tips im new been grinding ranked its a blast! so ill be utilizing alot of this now that were getting higher lol!
Thanks for the video. Just started to seriously give time to playing Naraka... and quick counter was the first thing I noticed to be broken, so I couldn't quite get the 'both mouse button' counter thing? Do I press both L+R at the same time?
1 never spawn in the center 2 practice mode 3 pick two weapons your into and train in the in bot mode 4 stay together don’t solo unless your god teir 5 help your teammates with weapons and armor luck in game affects if you get good gear or trash enabling you to survive long 6 know your characters abilities and capabilities and capitalize on them 7 don’t underestimate guns in this game. Guns can make or break a match 8 don’t rush; focus on what you’re picking up and taking as it will affect your play style 9 pick souljades that suit your style close up combat reqires strength and defense; while far away combat requires different techniques and tactics 10 if thing’s are not going well then making a quick getaway is always better than being dead
actually there is one specific good use for quick counter if you wanna parry inbetween you normal hit strings hold the quick counter button and spam c. thats the fastest way to counter inbetween your normals, better than c and manual counter
I hate to be the bearer of bad news bud…but the first 3 games are always bots…the devs do that (and for good reason) so people don’t get stomped by beta testers, and rage quit without getting an accurate representation of the amount of fun to be had…still a great game, it’s just things are gonna get MUCH harder but stick at it definitely! I know I am!
Hi! Amazing video! But i have a quick doubt about the quick counter tho, in the video you say that it can't do certain things, yet im in practice mode and i can do all those things, and even better, i can also cancel my first and second charge of the focus attack into the parry with the quick counter. Has it been change since you made the video? I don't see the benefit of using the dual button over the quick counter. Thanks a lot!!
number 1 buying the game not to discourage people from buying Naraka, but it felt bare bones compared to Forhonor or other fighters even with the souljades, also the lagging menus made me nope out of this game really hard i need working menus that aren't glitchy and laggy
Hang on i just started today but i've been slaughtering the servers is it really that hard and i'm just a big fish in a small pond waiting to hit higher level players?
For me personally its really hard to do aerial attacks and counters because I play on 180ms. Any tips would be helpful regarding how to improve on these aspects
How do I turn melee weapon assist on? I read somewhere that it's good to have on for aerial combos. And where do I go for the control configuration? Cant seem to find it in the settings...
im gonna be real, a lot of this advice is mid/just incorrect. He's right on a few things like the rift dealer optimization, though he's not fully correct either. You should absolutely focus souljade expansions first and item second, but you only really need 1 weapon bag upgrade. If you are anywhere near proficient with combat, you wont get parried enough times to run out of weapons while only having 1 weapon expansion. Random souljades are far more important as they provide a chance at game changing souljades. I understand this video was at naraka's release but i still wanted to clarify some things. Using grapples mid combat is situational, dont use it to escape unless you know you can but you can use it to continue combos. Both take practice. Lastly, the quick counter vs composite buttons counter have no difference at least in the state the game is now. It might have been different then but quick counter is a far better habit to build now. Also the souljades in regards for you gear, he is right. You shouldnt be running souljades for weapons you arent using, but that doesnt mean just throw them out. For example, if i have a gold rarity dagger, unless i get some busted souljades for another weapon, i am going to use the dagger. So in this case i have a gold dagger with a gold souljade for nunchucks, dragon's roar. In this scenario i dont have any nunchucks, but that souljade is game changing so i will hold onto it for stats and for the event that i come across nunchucks. Also dont use ranged resist souljades. Unless they are purple for the ranged weapon you have/want to use, dont pick them up. So little people can effectively use ranged weapon at low to average elo. Even like bottom of high elo they arent used as much.
