Here is what i hope will be, the most helpful, in depth video for hooded eyes, hooded lids, whatever you want to call them! If you have small, hooded or puffy eyes, a cut-crease will be your BFF! No matter how hooded, droopy or puffy or small your eyes are, with practice, you will be able to do a cut-crease. That's the whole point of them! Attention: I'm kind of sick of the same comment saying: 'You don't have hooded eyes'. As i've explained numerous times before; yes, my eyes are hooded. Albeit only slightly, but they are hooded. There a different kinds of hooded eyes, from mature hooded, to the puffy hooded eye, to the droopy hooded eye (which is what I have). My eyes may not be as hooded as yours, yet they are still considered hooded eyes. I do hooded eyes videos to help others out there, who also have hooded eyes. The techniques I use work on hooded eyes no matter what kind of hooded eye you have, or how severely hooded they may be.

Brazen Beauty Blogs From your profile picture, It looks like you have plenty of room, you might just need to work on technique. I have super hooded eyes as well, and I struggle with over blending. I got a bullet brush from sephora that helped me somewhat. I also started using smaller brushes in general and just trying to be really really careful not to over blend. I think using really high quality eyeshadows helps a lot as well because you can place them very precisely and blend out but they won't just like disappear after they're blended. Oh also I try to wash my brushes more frequently so there aren't lots of random colors, and I use a clean one to blend. Sorry to ramble, I just totally feel your pain, and hope I can help. :-)

I've said this before but I'll say it again. I'm so impressed with the quality of your explanations in your videos. It's so rare to find a video that actually shows some serious skill (and patience to explain that skill). Being a self taught make up artist, I rely on practice (at work) and basic skills I've learnt from RU-vid. It's been very long, probably since I began watching make up tutorials years ago, that I've watched a video where I genuinely learnt a new skill where you haven't just washed over the details of why and how you do things. u should look into enrolling in school 011natalie110 so u can have proper qualifications - I didn't enroll in beauty college til I was in my early 40s. I even got some government help with my fees - best thing I ever did.

Stephanie, I am embarrassed to say that I am just NOW finding your tutorials, but want to say "Thank You" for going above and beyond to help people really learn how to easily apply makeup on every part of their face regardless of what we think we are lacking that we were not born with. My daughter and I have hooded eyes, but Natalie's are more so and I NEVER could get the shadow or liner to look right until now. You see, I am doing her makeup this Friday night for a special occasion at her high school. She has Aspergers and it really affects her fine and gross motor skills. So applying makeup, doing her hair, and tying her shoes are feats that she cannot do herself. Natalie is 18 and will be part of a ceremony in which they are being given their Senior class ring. She will graduate next year. I can't wait to apply your cut-crease technique to her eyes to bring them out without everything running together. I know that the world has way worse problems than this, but when you have a daughter very hooded eyes on top of Aspergers and Epilepsy, being able to finally accentuate her gorgeous eyes in the proper way means a lot to me right now and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Stephanie, you have done wonderful tutorials for hooded eyes. Through aging, my hooded eyes have become even more pronounced and it was a blessing that I found your tutorials. Out of all the "hooded" videos out there, I choose to watch you! Now, if I could only find a tutorial for eye-lining my eyes. Because of the drooping hood, the crease goes below the outer corner of my eye. I've tried so many techniques that I'm guessing that winged liner will never work for me any more. :( Sad face...

Hi Stephanie :) I am new to youtube tutorials and I have to say I have learned a huge amount from listening to your detailed explanations. I think some of the folks down below are failing to appreciate that- yes you are a young woman but that actually you do have a slightly hooded eye! the message I get from listening to you is that PRACTICE is the key to perfecting the techniques demonstrated FOR YOYR OWN EYES! I am almost 50 with pretty good skin but I am developing a hooded eye with the natural aging process-Grrr. Omg....you have no idea how thrilled I am to have found this. I'm a 37 year old mama to four and for years and years I've struggled with eye shadow...finally gave it up and settled for eyeliner and mascara... Which was pretty but lacked the punch I had always wanted. So, after watching this at least a dozen times (like a crazy woman lol), I purchased my first set of brushes and did exactly what you did and oh my goodness...I have sexy, open, beautiful eyes. I have seen so many RU-vid videos on a cut crease, but I have never seen a video that actually made me think "I could actually do this"! I do have very hooded eyes, plus I have always been extremely careful with my eye makeup! I didn't know how to do it properly so I'm basically didn't wear any! This is What I watch Every time i try to do any «dramatic» eye look for going out. It is my favorite along with the dome toturial. You really have helped me with my hooded eyes, you are the only one who explain it well, in my opinion. Girl, thank you so much!!! I am 22 and have struggled with makeup never looking as good as other girls. And now I realize it's because I have a hooded eye shape!! This is gonna help me so much with making my eyes stand out more. I also had issues with my winged eyeliner disappearing when my eyes were open. You're other video on that helped too. Have you tried the dome shape technique? That works on very hooded eyes and looks beautiful. I've got a lot of tutorials on the dome shape. x

Great tips! Tho to me anyway, it looks as tho your cut crease is as thick as your brows.. Maybe its just my eyeballs, but watching this also I'd like to ask.. Whats the point in applying the first color if you're only going to cover it up with the concealer at the end? Kind of defeats the purpose of the first color doesnt it??

Well she applied the concealer on the lid and not on where she put the first color. That was applied around where the hood is

Eye shadow looks never work on me, and when I google hooded eye tutorials they are always girls with perfect eyelids and so much space for eyeshadow! Brandy Strecker Yes you can! It works no matter what type o hooded eye your have! I actually included a picture of Renee Zellweger's eyes and showed where you would apply the 'fake' crease..

Maybe Stephanie could do some cut crease tutorials on people with severe hooded eyes (skin that really overhangs near the top lash line) as I am similar to Brandy and cannot get mine to work either... it just looks weird.

OMG YOU ARE AWESOME! I tried the cut crease application again today, with the added info in this video. I did use different colors and made mine less dramatic, so it was work appropriate and OMG it looks absolutely beautiful. I also blended some of the darker crease color into my outer B and a small amount smoked out under my lower lid. It is seriously so stunning and beautiful and I am so appreciative of this and your other videos! I cannot wait to experiment with this technique! Thank you thank you thank you!
