I had a much harder time putting on the casters in vlog 071 on my channel but eventually I found a solution. Happy to say the cart has been great a few months later on my productions.
awesome video! Imo production carts are overpriced af ... i film sometimes on expos and as long at it is not marketed for filmmakers, super sturdy carts are way cheaper when they are marketed for workshops etc
You sound like you don't want to go to Home Depot... You do know that if you play it right, you can hang out there all day with no one the wiser, right? 😉😉 Also, that looks like just a good general production cart!
I am curious about how well the 3D printed adapters hold up. I love using 3D prints to create otherwise difficult solutions- I do it on a weekly basis… but putting an entire cart on top of a print I would be leery of.
I've been using the XL as a generic production cart for a while now. I took the stock wheels on a gravel driveway and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I really appreciate seeing how to mod the wheels, I was trying to figure out how to swap them. I also discovered that the Pelican Vault V550 case fits perfectly on the cart.
Tip of the day: To prevent your drill bit from sliding around when starting your hole use a small nail, awl, or center-punch to made a small indentation. If you don't have those, at least pre-drill using a thinner bit.
100% True... but at the same time, this is the first time I've ever needed to cut a rod. Rather save the money on a cheap tool you hardly use and spend more time cutting. "Buy cheap tools until you know what you really need from that tool, then buy the best version you can afford." -Adam Savage
I would buy the cart but won't after my recent experience with Service Repair Manager Christine Huang at Deity. Because of her I'm thinking of throwing all my Deity equipment off a cliff. I asked if she could tell me how to connect my w.lav mic to an XLR port on a sound mixing board. Her reply, "Do you have any pictures of the soundboard you mentioned? We don't know what it looks like. 😂 Is it the Piano soundboard?" shows she had no clue. I don't believe it's best practice to laugh at your customers. Multiple insulting emails later she had no answer. I have to say that Rode was very helpful.
